This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

How does it work?

I picked up some 3rd party Plug&Play kits at TRU a few months back for $4 each that don't work at all.

picked up finally DMC4 for $14.98 also saw the sony brand componet cables dropped to $17.98 thats it since my target took out my clearence section to add more christmas stuff

Saw Grid for PS3 for $41.xx. I had gotten it for 360 awhile back, guess they're getting around to this version.

Super Target in Vernon Hills was a mess. The thing was ravaged. Didn't take the time to document very much since I was running out to a dinner but I saw TMNT (360) for 20.98 and Jumper (360) for 30.98.

I snagged the last DMC4 at the finally reduced price of 14.98. Whew! Wouldn't have even thought to look if I didn't see so many other CAG's finding it at that price. Thanks!

Now, I've never played any of the DMC games before. Is that going to seriously hinder my enjoyment of DMC4?

Yup I went ahead and open the box in my suprise the instruments are all still in plastic. I was piss that I couldn't get in to the toysrys rockband 2 deal due to the fact that the toysrus in my place close down and replace it babies r us. Still a nice deal save myself 60 dollars. I haven't cracked it open yet. My first-party play and charge seems to be dying - it won't hold a charge for shit, and is dead in a day or so even if I'm not using the controller. I'll report back on quality and function.

I've bought these types of things from Target before; Nirvana CD for $3, Bike rack, King Kong PC game, etc. Never had a problem. I believe a few people last year reporting getting a PSP for about $80 with the as-is repackage sticker. So, it's usually the packaging that's screwed up, but the product is fine. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. Good deal though!

You'd be lucky if they got to that price before being cleared out. Same thing with my Target which had a ton of Ninja Gaiden II's and Pure's one week and were cleared out the next. At the same time, your Target might send them back before they get that low. It's your gamble, but I suggest you just grab one for now and bide your time with the others.

As for my venture to Target, I noticed Kirby Squeak Squad was gone. Either it hit $7.XX or someone bit at the higher price. I'm pretty bummed about that since I bought a copy way back when it was full price thinking it would never drop. Then again, another Target magically got one that hadn't had any for a long time, so maybe I can get a price adjusment if I can find my damn receipt.

One last note, I noticed Madden 09 CE for $44.98 today. Not sure when they decided to put this on clearance, but if you see any make sure to check them if they haven't been already clearanced at your Target.

Got Rachet and Clank, plus Silent Hill: Homecoming for PS3- both 15 dollars. Both were 41 last week.

Also- I don't know about you guys- but i noticed my store storing the PS3 mark-downs in the bottom of the case. If there are a lot of big boxes (End War, Buzz, etc), they might be hidden behind them. I thought all the games were gone today, and I looked really hard, and saw some hiding in the back.

Here is an interesting question. Say you hide the last copy of a game that you want. Can the price still drop even though there are none available on the shelf to mark down? I ask because a friend of mine *cough* might have hidden a game and the price on it hasn't dropped in a couple of weeks even though the first post says it dropped in price to $14.98 at the beginning of the month.

This particular target is pretty good on keeping up with the latest clearance prices too.

Based on my following of the Target clearance thread over at FW, an associate needs to scan a copy to mark it down in the system. Hiding the last copy will cause the item to avoid the Monday mark down on tech items.
