This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Snagged PS3 Guitar Hero 3 wireless guitar + game for $24.98 at the Farmington Hills, MI store on Grand River.

No 360 versions and it was the last PS3 one, though. I'm going to check the other stores nearby to see if they have any left.

The 2 stores that has the Commander display unit won't let me buy it. :(

I managed to pick up a train table for my son for $ 20 (75% off), so at least he is happy. :)

I found it odd that I didn't see a single 360 game on clearance. This Target's 360 section was pretty bare so that might have something to do with it.
 
While browsing my store today, I noticed a worker pulling out games and sticking them on the end rack (where clearance games used to be but now just have the crap games). She said they were "discontinued". I look at it and noticed they seemed to a combo as clearance and cheapy titles, including Facebreaker, NIGHTs, Bourne 360. I wonder if they just had these stored in the back and never bothered to put them out before...

The other Commander chair I didn't pick up is still there. Probably should've got that one since mine seemed to be a "as is" one. They also had the boomshark, but I rather have a pedstal chair as my TV is elevated on a desk.
 
The only console game I saw today was Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith Bundle for PS3 (DCPI: 207-24-0121). The price was $41.98. The only other stuff they had were iPod cases.

Been to all three Targets in my area looking for Ratchet and Silent Hill for $14.98 or Army of Two for $9.98 to no luck :whistle2:(

They did have Lost Planet at one of them marked $9.98 (as opposed to $29.99 at the other two) but when I tried to buy it the cashier said it was scanned out of the system as RTV (return to vendor, at least that's the case in my store) and was not sale-able. It seemed like he was one of those "I fucked up and need to lie to get myself out of trouble" situations, but sucked regardless.
 
Those who have bought the Shark chairs, can you comment on your thoughts on if it is really worth it? The fiancee has me thinking maybe I don't need it, but I could be swayed otherwise.

If you are tall I'd say don't bother . I'm 6'3" and I have to put the headrest all of the way up , and it is still not comfortable .
Also it's really easy to lean back and make the seat roll onto it's back [probably due to my height] .
The sound is pretty cool it's decent enough .
The vibration is neat , kind of like getting a free back massager .

If you can get one at 75% off , I guess check it out .

I can neither recommend or not recommend this .
 
Well, I'm about 6', and a pretty big guy, and I would actually highly reccomend it, especially for $27! I know what the previous poster meant about the height, and that would probably be my biggest gripe. But as I mentioned a few pages ago, the sound is INCREDIBLE! Yeah sure it's not up to par with my $400 Sony reciever & 7.1 speaker setup, but when you factor in that this sound is coming from a chair, it's unbelieveable. Seriously, there's a lot worse ways to spend $30.

Try Radioshack for Ratchet, it's $20 or under now. Check the Radioshack thread if you have any questions.

I found them in two places, first in the electronics clearance area (wherever they have the video games, and phone accessories on clearance) and second over in the furniture area, near the gaming chairs.

Unfortunately, I don't have the dcpi, its at home. Will check back later with the number tonight.
 
Picked up Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith Bundle for 360 for $24.98 and wii kidz sports hockey for $4.98 (as is) at the route 8 target in pittsburgh
 
Only thing I spotted gaming wise yesterday was 20+ copies of Haze for $20.98.
However, I did pick up a Monster Zune cable for my car for $14.98.

I would love to know why some people here feel like they are entitled to anything and everything that isnt nailed down? You sir are the one that is FOS as you call it. Target DOES NOT SELL furniture displays, period. They will sell certain displays, such as tvs and christmas tree displays. Beyond that things are displays for a reason ya know.

OK, it still doesn't answer his question. I'm guessing they probably give them to GoodWill like they do when an unsold clearance item runs it's course through the markdowns when it doesn't get bought.

I spoke to a manager about selling the display models of the gaming chairs. After hearing different reasons from floor reps and customer service, the manager said they are returned to the manufacturer and receive a credit back for it.

He also said, in general, display units may not be complete units (ie missing parts, not made to be sold to retail.. ie Hollow). for this reason they don't sell them.

i argued the chair is a real chair, not hollow or just a display "model". He didn't seem to care.

I did see a commander chair at a Target yesterday that had a red clearance sticker on it...I didn't pursue the matter any further, but I wonder if they were actually trying to sell it?

I dropped by my Target today and noticed that they had put out a bunch of stuff on clearance.. namely Haze for the PS3. It was about 20 of em priced as 20.98, which isn't that great of a deal. Also saw Patapon for 4.98. (This was in Houston, TX)
 
I may jump on Mercs 2 if it's around $20ish....I was hoping for 360, but I guess PS3 would suffice, I barely have any games for the system anyways.
 
Local one here is completely cleaned out. They had a few copies of Haze for $20, and some GBA games, and that's basically it.

One of the Tulsa stores had a stack of Mercs2 for PS3 for $35, with a sign for an additional 30% off, which is of course $25. Anyone know if the 360 version is going on clearance soon as well?

There were some copies of Haze there pretty much for free. Even then nobody wants them.
 
I tend not to post what i find at target although the other day i happened to run across Jericho as well at $12.48 but i wasnt tempted because i did not like the game anyway after renting it
 
I went to my local target and they were selling the Commander and Shark displays... they didn't come with the wires though. The sales associate said he would give me an extra 15% off if I wanted them... so I guess it's YMMV
 
I went to Target yesterday and the only gaming-related clearance I saw was Legendary on the PC for $35~. In medford, NY if anyone was wondering.

Anyone see PS3 Tiger Woods 09 for less than 41.98 yet in central NJ?

So far i've seen 20.98 copies of Haze and Rainbow Six Vegas, and about 30 copies of Mercs 2 at 27.98
 
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this (it's not updated in the first post) but Need for Speed: Carbon for PS3 was down to $7.48 at one of my locals last week. Stopped by today to pick one up but they were all gone (there had been like 20+ of them). Anyone know where all those games might've gone? Does Target just throw them out once they meet a certain price point?

Stopped by yesterday to look for the game ottoman. Still $40, but bit on Madden XX CE $14.98. Being able to play Madden '93 for some reason sold it for me. Still 5 copies left as of last night & too many PS3 Haze to count @ $20.98.
