This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up Mercs 2 :360: for $20.98. There was one left, so if that manages to survive a price drop, I'll just buy and return my copy I have right now, since I don't see me being in a hurry to play it. Also say Transformers, Lair, and others that weren't really interesting.
 
I just remembered back in the day I bought a Super Nintendo w/Zelda for $ 10 . It was the small SNES .
I still have the controller and Zelda in the little bags they came in ,

I know it's not current but , I thought it would amuse some of you guys .

I agree. I'd love for it to be about $5 cheaper, but even still this is a good value for the amount of songs considering most DLC is $1.99 each.

Saw a title on clearance at one Target and regular price at another. That's new to me: I thought that clearance prices vary, but clearance status was universal.

Local store had the Anniversary Optimus at $34.xx, 50% off.

I'm waiting for those big GI Joe sets to hit 75% off myself :evil:

I saw VP:TiP in the "value games" section. I thought someone had put it there by mistake. I didn't even realize that it had dropped to $29.99. Now it's being clearanced... cool.

Saw a whole slew of Haze (PS3) for $20.98 tonight. ... it's barely worth the sticker that the clearance price is printed on.

I had gotten this for $9.99 from Best Buy a few months back. Never opened it and sold it to a friend of mine for $10. After he opened and played it, I'm not sure that we're still friends anymore.

Coincidentally saw the fancy Gillette razor on clearance for $8.xx (only about $2 off) with a sleave for a $10 mail-in rebate for select sports games, including Facebreaker (both must be purchased between 10/30/08? and 3/31/09).

If the razor would have come with more than one blade, I would've considered it, but since I'm pretty sure I have one at home already from a free trial, the deal wasn't good enough for me to bite.

Still, just a heads up for scruffy dudes with an interest in poorly reviewed cartoon boxing games.

I was thinking Madden CE was a decent deal at $20 AR + razor cost, but I didn't realize the razor cost $10.

You can pick it up for a tad cheaper used at GS this week using the 20% used 360 coupons, or buy it used from BBV for 20$... or wait to NOT find it at target :)
 
Picked up Virtua Fighter 5 (360) for $13.98 today. I've had the PS3 version since it was released (as well as the import PS3 Virtua Stick), but Hori is releasing a beautiful HRAP for the 360 next month. It'll be fun to have another fighter to mess around with on the 360.

Off-topic:

I really encourage people to check out the new 360 HRAP. Most of the current stick-hype is going to the Madcatz SFIV stick, but the HRAP is part for part on equal ground. Also it's made my Hori....not Madcatz. Just saying (I know, I know, the SFVI stick has got great reviews so far).

Pretty close. :) I usually get there shortly after opening, and nobody else is in the section. So I have to throw in a few fake phone conversation phrases when redshirts walk past.

And oddly, this same store put out more clearance items that weren't there Monday. I think there's only one not already mentioned, but I have the DPCI for VP:

The camping clearance went to 75% off at another Target, and also found 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime at the 75% mark (albiet, pretty beat to heck), as well as some baby toys for my nephew.

good tip. but i like getting mines new whenever i can especially if its only a few bucks more. I've got a buddy that always reads his game manuals on the toilet and i'm a bit weary buying used sometimes. I hope he's the only one that does this.

You can get Mercs 2 for $20 at Blockbuster used. For those that just want a copy.
