This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Thanks for the advice. The thing is, at 50% off for the COD Modern it comes out to be around $31.75 w/tax. And I have a CC gift card that I got for 50% off, so technically I'll be a little less than $16 for COD Modern. I get the feeling that the majority people feel COD Modern is the best.

i would go for COD4 - that game is awesome. and if you can get it for around $16, it's a steal. i've never played farcry though, but i do like COD4 more than COD5.
 
Anyone know if TR:UW will be dropping again this next week? Seems like I've been seeing different games drop at different intervals. I really want it at a $15 price, but if I had to choose between $30 or not getting it all all, it would be $30 ftw.
 
It's been $30 for a week or two, there is a chance it'll go down farther next week. It really depends on how well Target (and/or your particular Target(s)) feel a game is selling, sometimes it takes them forever to start dropping, sometimes it's pretty much weekly. Since they don't PM, and if you can be at a store Monday to check after the price updates, I'd say hold out til Monday...

$30 is too much for a game that'll probably be $20 or less soon enough, but yeah, I hope it drops to $15 before everyone snatches it up.
 
It (TR:UW) dropped to $29.99 last Monday at 6 Target stores here in the Des Moines, IA area (there's a 7th location I never go to). The one I frequent the most had 7 copies when it hit $41.98 3 weeks ago. I was there about an hour ago and 5 were still left. I counted 5 copies at another location yesterday. I should be ok to wait till Monday and see if it drops again.
 
I picked up a copy of Mercenaries 2 for $14.98 today, 360 version. Apple Valley, MN store also had lots of copies for Guitar Hero Aerosmith for $19.98... I'm waiting for that to get to $15 or less.

I just posted two posts ago and am going to ask how the heck I would know this?

I don't go every day so for all I know my prices could have changed 2 weeks ago and just sat there. They also could have changed on Wednesday and only been there for 2 days. How exactly could some tell this? Im more than happy to look at my receipt if there is some way to tell.
 
That's the thing Schuerm, you don't and if Bob thinks you can he's a fool. Clearance for all Targets is YMMV, in the sense that prices vary, as well as when they decide to mark. I've seen the same Target, do markdowns on Monday one week, a Friday the next, and even on a Thursday.

If it's Friday and someone is reporting a previously unlisted price, then it is a Friday drop. Pretty simple.

There is no real way to know since someone could see a Friday drop on Monday.

I picked up the PS3 version of Mercs 2 for $9.98 but would rather have the 360 version and will be back to AV, MN store on Monday to see if I can get 2 copies at the next drop to play online coop with a friend who has a $10 threshold on games due to backlog.

Picked up the SFIV Prima strategy guide for $8 at the El Centro, CA store. Saw it was twenty and when the cashier scanned it she asked me if I wanted it for $8. Yep.

Or someone could see a Monday drop on a Friday. Or the drop could've occurred in the system on Monday and they just got around to stickering them on Friday. In my experience (with several Targets) the drops always occur on Mondays, but I know others have reported seeing them on different days.

I checked a price but the associate was using a little inventory thing, he looked at the game like 3 times and said "Uhh it's still ringing up as $41.98." I wasn't buying it but it's not like I can accuse him of lying.

I realize Target is YMMV but I'm just curious if anyone else has seen this game cheap.

Got the last Spiderman: Web of Shadows PS3 for 14.98!! Henderson, NV on sunset/stephanie
and a 60s r&b classics cd for 2.24 :p

Lots of Fracture for 360/PS3 still 19.98
Last Remnant 41.98
lots of other stuff still not fully lowered

Almost all my Target stores drop prices on Monday as well. However, I happened to be at another store on both Thursday AND Friday, and the price drop definitely happened on Friday (price change team was out there as well scanning and re-stickering items where appropriate).

As a result, lucked out and bought a bunch of games (only the following had prices lower than reported in the OP):

Lego Batman (xbox360) 12.48
Mercenaries 2 (xbox360) 7.48
Nascar 09 (xbox360) 7.48

I picked up the jewel case version of The Ship today at my local Target (Cedar Rapids Westdale store) for only $4.98. Putting the CD key in Steam unlocked the tutorial, single player and multiplayer, which costs $20 on Steam.
 
found a copy of madden 2009 collector's edition for $11.24. was very surprised to find one in mint condition. there was no red clearance sticker on it. must've been in the back room or something.

Wow... I'm glad I waited on Lego Batman. For that price I might pick up Mercenaries 2 as well.

Apparently, this store does their price drops on Saturday as he mentioned that he just put the RB Track Pack back out today with this price adjustment.
 
Valentine's Day stuff is 90% off. Not much left. Also Dollar Spot Red Dot Item are 75% off so most are $0.25 (some are $0.62 down from $2.50)
 
found some copies of too human and fracture at the burke target but both rang up at $19.98. is there usually a discrepancy between different target stores?
 
Last remnant still $41.xx and lego batman still 34.xx. That's all my Target has.
The lack of any good clearance games at low prices probably has something to do with the idiot I saw buying tomb raider yesterday at $41. He was telling the clerk how great of a deal that was and couldn't believe they would put a game like that on clearance. It's like people have never heard of using the internet to buy things or even check their prices. Oh well.
 
Picked up Disney Sing It for $19.98 on the 360 (One more copy left). PS3 version was tagged at $27.98. (Only one copy of this)

Also, got SingStar PS3 for $29.98 since I figured I might not get a better price on it. One copy left.

They had Lego Batman 360 tagged at $24.98, I figured I could wait on that since there were a few copies. They also had Last Remnant, but I can't remember the price on it.

They had Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3) for $24.98 (I think) game only, but I passed on it since it's not my type of game. Only other thing I was interested in was FFIV for the DS which was $19.98 and I also picked up.

They had Too Human, Fracture, Brothers in Arms (360), Spider Man Web of Shadows(PS3) and some other games that I can't remember right now with prices I also can't remember. Not the best prices, but good enough that I couldn't pass up on them.

I also saw 2 games at 2 different TARGETs that broke ship dates..One had Godfather II for PS3 and the Other had 50 Cent Blood on the sand PS3. Both are due out next Tuesaday.

Got Fracture for $9.98

They had FarCry 2 for $13.98 but the lady said it was priced wrong and that they put the wrong price on it. Apparently its for a different game and they didnt want to honor it. Bastards
