This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

In the last two days I've been to Targets in Fenton, Chesterfield, St. Peters, and Arnold. The only real items of note were:

A quick question about these clearance price games.

Are they the ones outside in the open at the end of the game rows, facing the tv's?

Or are they the ones inside the glass case?

Depends on the individual Target, they can really be at any of those locations where they put games.

I picked up Tomb Raider Underworld for $14.98.

I also grabbed a lone copy of Fable II: Limited Collector's Edition for $17.48 but then discovered that someone had stolen the discs. I got a prompt refund. It was too good to be true!

Thanks, I didn't realize the deal on Mercs 2 was for regular reward zone members too. But I'm confused.. what statement of mine would people like to disagree with?


Anyways, I went to the Target in Greensburg, PA today and they didn't have much of anything. They had Rock Revolution for $9.98, GH Aerosmith $19.98, Bourne Conspiracy for $29.98, UT3 for $19.98 and COD 3 for $14.98... all for Xbox 360.

(at about 3pm) There was only one SCIV left there.

Damn someone found my stash!!! I had spidey wos, fracture, and lego batman. Now all are gone.


I have a sealed copy of haze for ps3 if anyone can find the above three and want to trade.

wtf, I was there twice yesterday and there weren't any SCIV.

I checked:

The glass case
The "video game sale" aisle.
The clearance games in the black boxes on the end of the aisle three or so aisles down from the games.

Where did you find it?

Haha, you guys really do this? I'm an opportunist, I just wait for the drops and hope I get lucky. I'd be really annoyed if I hid something and it just got swiped/moved later, so I don't go through the trouble.
 
If there's truth to Target lowering prices based on number of items in stock, then people hiding merchandise actually helps your chances of getting a lower price (assuming they don't hide and buy every single one of them.)
 
Yeah, but cant they look up how many they have in stock off of the PDA they have??? I thought prices just dropped and updated in the computer and if they had some on the floor they just updated those prices with new tags.

Yeah, everyone should be aware that games dropping to 87.5% off (or whatever the % is) is super, extreme YMMV. I've only seen it happen once in my area. So if your waiting for a $60 game to drop to $7.48... don't hold your breath.

Ok, I was gonna say I have had plenty of mine hidden and they have still dropped with out there being a second on the floor.

Picked up Brothers in arms (360) for 15$, last remnant for 15$, facebreaker for 10$, farcry 2 (ps3) for 15$, and virtua fighter 5 (360) for 15$. I saw a few copies of sciv for 30$, and copies of too human and fracture for 20.

As of about an hour ago the South County (St Louis) Target had a couple copies of Haze for $15 and one copy of Facebreakers (360) for $10. Last Remnant was still $40. I can't remember anything else except that they had substituted Gears 2 for L4D at $40. It took great willpower to pass that one up.

WTF? I went to that same exact Target tonight at around 7:00pm. Barely 1 day after you.

There was absolutely nothing. Everything was gone. I don't see how 30+ FC2's can disappear in one day. Unless, plenty of game hiding went around.

While walking around I did manage to find one copy of SpiderMan: WoS lying around in a random location. Picked that up.

Sounds more like hoarding to me. And this is exactly the reason why I don't like to post locations. The lurking vultures swoop in...
 
Picked up Blitz II the League for $10

My target had these games for cheaper than what's listed on the front page:
Unreal Tournament III (360) - $20
Lego Batman (360) - $12.48
 
I never really understood the full concept of hoarding so if someone could clear it up for me...

How can a game drop in price if you hide the copies? Wont the game stay at the same price because the employees cannot do inventory.

I am in Upper Mich. and the none of these prices have gone this low yet... prob. 1 more week.

The dictionary definition definitely applies, but in this context it's when a bargain hunter finds a good deal on a game, and buys up every single available copy for resale/eBay. I'm not saintly, I definitely grab an extra copy of a game for trade bait/pocket money when I come across a good enough deal, but two is really my limit-- I couldn't imagine buying 5+ copies of a game like some vultures do. It happens, though, I've seen it.

You can't know someone saw your location post and went to get YOUR game before you had a chance to. You're just being paranoid. Lots of people shop at Target, man, I've seen them. They walk the aisles and look for stuff to buy - they're called customers.

Some people shop for games, too, and know nothing of the clearance games thread at CAG. Even if you don't post a location, someone who lives near you may see it and just happen to be frequenting YOUR Target and get before you can. So maybe you just shouldn't bother posting at all and keep all the games for yourself. At least it'll save us all from having to listen to you bitch.
 
Same here, I mean there is is always that risk that you wont get the same valeue back you wont put into it. Now stashing several copies so you can get one or two and insure that they will not be found and pick it up at a deal, I can deal with.

I don't believe I was bitching, but anyway, you continue to post your location and the clearance games that are available at your local Target. I'm not stopping you from doing that. Just don't come crying back in this thread when they don't hit 75% off and sell out at 50% off. You underestimate the amount of lurkers on this site and the effect they have on stores in your area.

I would tell CAGs i know in my area about the deals but i wouldnt post my location, too bad so far about 3 times different stores near me have been posted a few times, not that i ever gotten anything at them anyway(yet)
 
I went to two targets around me, they both had Farcry 2 for 30 dollars. they had a Soul Caliber 4 for ps3 but it rang up 50 dollars. Spiderman was also 30 dollars. I managed to snag 2 copies of Fifa09 at $30 each, the deal was over, but since it had the sign up they guy gave it to me.

Also they had the Endwar bundle on sale for $50 dollars. You think it's a good deal to pick it up with the headset?

Stopped in Target today and picked up The Ship P.C. for $4.98, Too Human 360 for $9.98 and Fracture 360 for $9.98 all the other games were $29.98 and $41.98 and a couple of Pokemon Ranger DS Games for $21.98
 
Picked up Web of shadows PS3) at 14.xx yesterday! Woot! They also had a copy of too human, but still 29.xx too rich for my blood.

Now, if only theyd drop LBP, HMMMMMMmmmm

This was on a shelf, all the way to the left of the store about 5 or six isles deep. They were on an endcap to the right. I dont believe they are all gone either. There were just too many. Was thinking of getting another if it goes to 7.98 this upcoming monday.

Picked up Blitz the league II for $20, they had another copy. Hopefully it'll still be there when it drops to $10 then I'll bring this one back. My bro has been wanting this game for a while and his B-day is coming up in March great timing if you ask me.

I hid a copy of Brothers in Arms: HH at one of the Targets I hit up here in LA. I wish I could find a copy of The Ship for $5, that would definitely make it worth the leap to find out how good it is. Here's some links to check out:
