This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Lucky. I've been looking for Far Cry 2 but it's not clearanced at any my Targets. It's $39.99 here.

Call me a hoarder if you must, but I picked up two copies of the Fable II LE today to sell along with my other (third copy) that I got last week. I can't resist paying $17.98 for something that is selling for $90.00 on eBay.
 
Lucked out today. Stopped by one of my local Targets so my daughter could pick out something for her birthday. I swung by the clearance section and there was no change in any of the stickers since Monday, so thought all was normal. For some reason, I decided to type the Singstar PS3 code into one of the price checkers and it showed $14.98 (but all were still labeled $29.98). I then checked a bunch of others, but no other drops. So, I purchased the last 2 PS3 Singstars. I'm going to return the one I purchased at $29.98 last week so someone else can get a good deal.

Id like to thank the hoaders today , was buying stuff for my old lady's kid sister ( shes moving into her first apartment with two pals ) , so we are buying all the cleaning goods and shes like I need bins , ok so we go down the isle and im going to get a few bins and guess what .. someone was kind enough to make the top bin their stash ...

Hmm, I don't know about your story. I don't think anyone in their right mind would go through the trouble of hiding Deal or No Deal, Rock Revolution, or Bolt ;)

All kidding aside, I really enjoy stories like yours. That person pulled an incredibly selfish move by pretty much hiding the whole clearance section and I'm glad he's not going to be able to get any of it :applause:
 
Damn, you guys get upset at people hiding stuff. I did stash a couple games, but really I think I'm saving people from themselves. They buy stuff when the clearance is higher than the average price (Lost Odyssey sold out at $41.98 when it was $39.99 everywhere else)

If someone does find my couple games oh well. People buying 6+ copies of games pisses me off and I will stack the deck a little my way every now and then.
 
Went to the Encinitas Target today and hid all the stuff worth keeping. About 3 Fable 2 LEs, 2 Rock Band bundles, about 5 copies each of TR:U, Last Remnant, Soul Calibur 4. Pretty cool stuff.
 
wish Tomb Raider, Rockband and Lego Batman would finally drop to the prices others are reporting. $29.98 (Tomb Raider), $97.98 (Rockband) and $24.98 (Lego Batman) is still a bit more than I want to spend.

Doesn't Target have a overnight stocking team so don't they just put the games back in their designated place.


Tomorrow, i will go to Encinitas Target and hid your games again and create an ultimate clearance scavenger hunt.

The sears clearance of the Singstar bundle for 9.99 was a better deal.

We need to save these people from getting hosed by more than a 15 dollar price on Far Cry2...

I haven't found one for myself yet, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a lot of love when it comes to sharing the deals for fable II le

Yeah, I do this all the time. I'll buy a game and it will go in my backlog. If I find it cheaper, I'll just return the copy. It's pretty rare that I'll find the game cheaper but most of the time, GS or BBV will lower the used game price. Using Edge and coupon at GS, I'll pick up a decent used copy using the store credit I have. I would much rather spend store credit (GS or BBV) than cash.

It really depends on the CSR. Sometimes the "special ticket" will print out and they'll just throw it in the trash and put the game in the "go back" carts. I don't think they're supposed to do that but I've seen it done several times.

I bought one, though I wished they had Thunderball or Goldfinger at those prices.

Yes, but I have yet to have any luck getting clearance items at Sears.
 
I just picked up The Last Remnant for $14.98 at the store at White Oak SH in Garner, NC. There was one more copy.
 
So was at one of my locals today and guess who I see ... the hillbilly that hid the games gthat I bought the other day . It looked like a tsunami hit that isle , was priceless . He was there with his wife/gf/sister and 3 kids . Looking at every bin . You hid it in a blue bin right baby ? yea . WTF ? he was pissed , I had to walk down another isle to keep from laughing at him . In the process of laughing picked up Fable II Ltd and Sing It Disney for the 360 .
 
I went to my local target today and hid three copies of the Rock Band Bundle (PS3) in the lingerie section. I'm going to go back in the 6 months and get a great deal and a pair of split crotch panties for my hottie.
