This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
How can you go from CA to FL in one day? Do you travel around the country to hide stuff at Targets for a living? Or are you a troll for a living?
We have these giant metal tubes that fly in the sky called airplanes.

hiding games is okay but there is a line, it should only be games you want for yourself

like I hid one copy of Last Remnant for when it drops lower

people hiding multiple copies of games are just assholes :bomb:

and I've found several stashes at my local Target so I move them right back to the normal clearance rack to screw with whoever did it

giant metal tubes that fly in the sky? Thats sorcery!;)

It's a form of sorcerary...dirty beats and breakbeat debaucherary...

Anyways - anyone scan a PS3 Memory Card Adapter? They were @ 30% for the past few weeks. I'd definitely jump on one @50% (ie $7.48)...

Saw several of those in the waning days of Circuit City for cheaper than that... where were you?

I found a couple too...every single one of them was opened and/or missing stuff. In fact, all but one was missing the cable. I tried to get one of them for less than $5, but they were STILL more than that at 70% off, because that store had them at an MSRP of $24.98, so it was $7.50 without a cable. fuck that...
Nothing seems to be new in the Ocala, Florida Target. :(
Hmm, you're the second Ocala CAG I know of here.

Parma, OH Target doesn't seem to have any apparent price drops. I did see for the :360: Fracture ($9.98), GH: Aerosmith, Last Remnant, and a few others. Last Remnant was still $29.98. I did scan in Lego Batman :360: for kicks even though the store doesn't carry it anymore, and the price did list it as $12.48 - so good luck if you can find it.

yeah that can get you thrown in jail!!

Just to throw my two cents out there about hiding:

I can see where people are coming from on both sides of the argument, but I really think the anger from the "anti-hiders" is really unjustified. Likening hiding to thievery is ridiculous, everyone who hides the games does pay for them when they hit 75% off. Saying that "Someone would have bought the games at a higher percentage, you just stole that 25 - 50% from Target" is not an adequate argument -- especially when you consider that your main argument is that it takes games away from other CAGs. How many CAGs buy games before they hit 75% off? By your definition, even if it is on the shelf, is that not thievery (because 75% off is stealing from Target). What makes letting it sit on the shelf till 75% not stealing, but hiding till 75% stealing?

Also, a lot of you anti-hiders are championing the "return and rebuy" method. Is that not just hiding a game at your house until a lower percentage?

I realize I'll get flamed for this post, but I think we really need to stop all this in-fighting in the thread. Hiders are always going to hide, the only defense non-hiders can take is to hide as well. Hide or be hided, I guess (although that is gramatically incorrect on so many levels). There's really no ethical base for either side of the argument, so we all just need to play nice here.

Dropped by my Target over lunch...stupid Brothers in Arms is still $14.98, for about the 4th week in a row. I didn't see any other drops, and to be honest I think my Target may update on Wed. or Thurs.

Was there one copy of TR:UW still left Kidu ?

Oh my god. Every time with these clearance threads there comes a time when I cannot find a single price drop on the page because the hiding games debate takes over. Argh.

I'm about to make a run at lunchtime myself. I've been hitting a few recently and they've been getting cleared out. I can't even find Too Human! I will check to see if the PS3 Soul Calibur IV's have dropped at all. May pick one up to see if I can swap for 360. Anyone finding Fable II or Soul Calibur IV in the Illinois burbs?

If you tried to sell something on ebay /craiglist/garage sale and someone hacked or hid the item so no one could bid for it so he could get the lowest price would you be happy ? Of coarse not . Hiding dissolves the potential for someone else to buy it , which is stealing . Stealing money /profit is stealing no matter how you want to justify it .

But in retrospect there are waaaaayyyy more important things to be worrying about www.infowars.com

It really boils down to the ASSHOLES that come on this site and brag about it . Keep that shit to yourselves !!! You know your douchebags , you don’t have to prove it to us .

I will defend my Local target and help others if possible and thats as far as I will take it . I don’t want to devote any more effort to change peoples habits . What I will do is teach my family what is right and wrong not some online Man-Brat that should know the difference already .

Now down from my dork soapbox.

If anyone needs a Tomb raider for $14.98 + ship shoot me a pm .
That is of course if there are any left ...

Picked up Disney Sing It (PS3) for $9.99 today.
I only got it to use the microphone with Rock Band 2.

Has anyone tried the mic with RB2 or know if it's compatible?

Was planning to just trade/sell the game so I get the mic for dirt cheap.

Thanks.

Picked up Tomb Raider: Underworld, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Soul Calibur IV for the 360 for 14.98 a pop at the Victor, NY Target... That should keep me busy for a few weeks... and then I remembered RE:5 comes out Friday. D'oh.

How is that not stealing. I'd be willing to buy that game at 60% but your not. I miss out plus the store loses X% of dollars.

Anyway before you know it you'll have scanners inside the electronics department so you cant leave that section with unpurchased electronics.

I believe that it is compatible with RB2. I traded in a copy of the game to PnT and they informed me that the mic worked on other games so they could sell the mic and game separate for a higher price than the bundle as a whole.

Games don't go to 60%. It's 30,50,75. Also, if you make that argument, then "return and rebuy" is stealing. Do you think "return and rebuy" is okay? I think that stealing is too harsh of a word - a person who legitimately buys a game at 75% is not "stealing" in the same sense as a person who blatantly walks out of a store with a game in their hands.

Don't we have an infraction system? This debate (I'm being kind here) has been done to death. It really needs to stop.

As for RB2 mic compatibility, any USB mic will work.

Couple of games FINALLY dropped and I picked up Fracture and Spiderman: Web of Shadows.

TLR and SH:H are still $30, though. :(

Can we just stop with the hiding back and forth, this gets really old, especially since neither side gives a rats ass what the other side thinks. Just keep it to yourself and shut up either way.
More to the point I am hoping some of the games at my Targets drop. I have been seeing Lego Batman, TR:U, Endwar, and Rock Band Track Pack for 50% off for weeks now and want them to drop, maybe this week. Oh yeah, and Spiderman: WOS too.

$14.98 is 75% off. My local Targets rarely drop to 85% (last time I saw it happen was April 2008).

All of the TR:U and SCIV were gone from my Target today. They were $29.99 last week, so either they were $14.98 this morning and I missed them, or they were removed from the shelf at 50%. Didn't notice anything new.

Well I just made a worthwhile trip to Target and found the last (visible) copy of Farcry 2 for ps3 finally down to $15 so I grabbed it. I didn't see anything new, and the pile of $15 TR:U's had been wiped out.

Only other possibly interesting thing I saw was Singstar for $15, but even my girlfriend who was with me there wasn't very interested.

Both the Vernon Hills and Crystal Lake stores still had :ps3: Soul Calibur IV for $34.98 this morning.

Neither store had any price drops that I noted.

I did noticed that the 10-12 TR:U for the 360 at the Vernon Hills store I saw last Monday were all sold out.

I didn't see one, but I wasn't really looking for it. They had some Bourne Conspiracy and Blitz II for 360 and a bunch of Soul Calibur IV for PS3. Looks like the section was reorganized a bit, but there don't appear to be any new clearances out yet. I really think that Target doesn't update until Wed or Thurs.

I picked up a copy for my niece to play. The mic appears to be the same mic as came with my RB bundle. Only difference is where they put the RB logo on the mic, there is a disney sing it logo and I think the bezel is silver instead of black (or the other way around).

This hiding "debate" pops up every now and then. There is nothing you can do to prevent or stop it. You just have to ride it out and everything will go back to normal. Eventually, a Mod will come in and clean this thread up unless everything calms down by itself.

Will my Singstar mics work?

Im going to hit a Target at 85040 (Tempe Arizona Marketplace) and one by my house (Phoenix, Desert Ridge Marketplace 85032)

I passed on a copy of Guitar Hero Aerosmith for 10 bucks. Hoping I can pick one up. Wouldn't mind Tomb Raider or Fable II for Under 20.

So using the method listed in the 1st post i found that a Target near me had limited availablilty of Fable 2. But when i arrived they didnt have it...oh well right?

Except for the past week they have had it still listed as available

The Target Gods hate me.:bomb:

Success! Well maybe just in my case. Anyways, I finally found Tomb Raider: Underworld and SC IV for $14.98 this morning. It took them 3 weeks to drop, but I finally snagged them. I'm pretty stoked right now!
I own both, and yes the Singstar will work on RB2
and the new bluetooth mic works wonders as well :)
wow.... crazy
Good luck finding it though. They all disappeared here at the first markdown to $50
GoW 2 LE = $17.48
Good grief, I didn't think there were still any of those left out in the wild. That HAS TO be from an exposed stash. Great deal.

Just hit my local Targets (Somerville, Everett, Watertown MA). The former two have a ton of Tomb Raider Underpants for $14.97. I was cruising for Soul Calibur IV and Last Remnant. Did not find the former, but found one copy of the latter in Everett for $14.97. Aces!

Also, the Watertown store still has Soul Calibur IV, but it's still 30 bucks. Curses! I don't think my luck is gonna hold out for that one.
