This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Unfortunately, the asin lookup thingy isn't very trustworthy. It is definitely helpful, but in my experience it only means you may have a chance at finding what you are looking for. I'm assuming the numbers are off either because of theft, stock in the employee areas, and the common issue that keeps popping up in this thread, people misplacing the product in other parts of the store.

Exactly, it is 100% accurate as to what SHOULD be in the store, but about 50/50 for what you'll find on the shelf. For Fable II LE if you type in the DCPI number, if it's $17.48 I'd check the logical places looking for that person's stash. Same thing happened to me, showed up Limited Availability I started digging and found it 15-20 minutes later.

It's the difference between driving out to check if you can find it, and not wasting your time. Worked like a champ for me today.

Score! Somehow found a Pure (360) in with the clearance stuff. Rang up at 0.00 and they found the last price was 14.98. Still fine by me since I missed them the 1st time around. SCIV still at 29.98 though, boo!
 
Went to 1 target on my way home and Too human and Fracture finally dropped to $10. Picked up both, both were the last copies in the store. TR:U and SC iv are still $30. Stock is slowly disappearing as well. Very frustrated.

I went to both locations this morning and didn't find any of the fore mentioned games. Where were they at? Behind glass case or somewhere else?? I never have any luck with Target Clearances.:bomb:
 
oh yes someone loved me today.

360 rock band special edition bundle $34.98

I went to that store last week and they didn't have any of those rockband bundles. go in this morning and they have four? works for me. bought one for a friend and a co-worker checked a few hours later and the other two were gone. too band i live on the second floor and can't play the drums. whatever. :D

I learned this the somewhat hard way, but you have to find the clearance end cap for Target clearance games.

At first, I was just looking in the regular game endcaps in the clear bins or in the "discount aisle." However, clearance games aren't kept in either.

You have to look at all the end caps in the electronics section. There should be one that has games with red tags on them.
 
Picked up the last copies of Tomb Raider Underworld (360) and Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3) for $15 and $5 respectively @ my local.

Actually, I've found that the clearance endcap is in one of two places: Either in the electronic section relatively close to the glassed-in games, or in the adjoining DVD section, on an endcap that has clearance games and CDs and sometimes DVDs.

Sometimes I go to the store and they're rotating seasonal stock, so there's no clearance endcap at all. :(

Picked up the Lego Batman I'd stashed behind some non-clearance 360 games last week, got it for $12.48. So now I can take my $24.98 copy back.

Also picked up Rock Revolution for $9.98, might keep it sealed incase it makes the drop to $4.98

At $14.98 it is 75% off. It is rare for games to go lower so I would grab it now if you want it.

Or it could be like one of the stores I go to that has moved their clearance section 4 times in the last 5 weeks...
 
Finally saw a drop today that everyone else has seen for a while. Fracture (360) was $9.98 & I almost bit, but then remembered hearing something about it being $14.99 used @ BBV. So $7.50 in credit whenever the next B1G1 rolls around is alot more appealing than $10 cash, especially for a game that supposedly blows.

On a related note, what is the probability of success for taking a clearance sticker off of one game and putting it on another? Not that I would condone such a thing, just wondering.
 
Anyone snag me a copy of Too human I can send the money via paypal if itds 9.98. I went to a target that had 6 of them as of thursday and they were all gone today.

Right...

Well it would depend on the cashier I suppose. Each sticker has the DCPI number for the item. So if they ring up the game with a replaced sticker, the information displayed during checkout will be the name of the game you took the sticker off of...not the one they are ringing up. So if they don't catch it, than you should be golden...

Though I wouldn't condone such a tactic...seems a bit more shadier than hiding...

This isnt just shady it's retail fraud just like taking a upc sticker for a $10 item and sticking it on a $200.

If they have you on camera, they will call the cops.... honestly is $10-20 WORTH IT?!

I know you were just asking but this is a warning to anyone thinking about it
