This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Wish Target would calculate the % off from the latest $40 list price instead of the original $60.

Well, $15 is still a steal.

That really is YMMV. When Bully :wii: was clearanced, I bought it at $12.48. A week later, they dropped the MSRP to $29.99 and I ended getting another copy for $7.48.
 
Almost jumped at this for $30 minus 50% for CC, but didn't, so probably won't here either.

Waiting for the apparently better PC version.
 
i dont get Target's pricing and inventory stocks.
They always have new and some moderate old ass game still placed $60, no one buys them without discount.
Then their clearance is faster than Bestbuy or TRU, lol.

How likely are price drops during the week? I tend to check on Mondays because that's traditionally been price drop day. Does it vary by store?

also: 17 copies of Haze? Great! I can use them to prop up a bunch of wobbly file cabinets. :D
 
Yeah, I lucked out the other day and found a copy of LR for $14.98. Last one too.

I also picked up the following:

To top it off, my birthday's tomorrow and I'm too broke to do anything else, so happy birthday to me!
 
Parma Target didn't seem to have any clearances today. Still the crummy 30% off games so far. Meh. I did return a Mercenaries 2 :360: copy today, so if anyone wants to get it for $7.48, it should be back on the shelf shortly. I bought it was it was $14.98 but got it at $10 at BB instead. Don't have time to worry about an extra $2.50 off - so if you can snag it, good for you.

It seems that most Houston area Targets that have Tomb Raider:UW for $14.xx. I'm still waiting for the Bourne game to drop from $29.xx.
 
Funny, I picked up a TR:U for ~$15 tagged, but it rang up ~$30. The girl checked the tags (as if I would have switched them) and typed in the DCPI # from the tag. It came up as TR:U 360, but with the ~$30 price. Of course she just manually adjusted it with a smile. I just thought it weird that there was a printed out tag with different info than the system.

I talked to a manager in Kentucky this is what He told me.
ALL target stores do there electronics price drops on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays if they didn't get it done on Monday. UNLESS a special end of the quarter list goes out which could occur on any day.
 
If an "as-is" clearance item sits on the shelf long enough will it drop further in price or is that pretty much it? I assume the answer is no, that it will not drop any further.

Sometimes those "as-is" items are awesome deals marked down 75% or more and other times I want to go and kick the person that decided to mark down an item a buck when the package is torn to shit and there are plenty more sitting on the shelf.

I'm not sure about the 'As-Is' dropping in price.

My local Target has had 2 copies of the film 'Funny Games' As-Is for $4.96 for like a month now, with no markdowns.

Well 2 of the 4 stores near me do it Friday. Either they are jumping the gun or your friend is full of it.
 
My target sucks so bad. They used to (a year or so ago) actually have games left to clearance. Now they might have a copy of a game that dropped ages ago still at the higher price siting on an end cap. I scan it it is still higher priced. Now they barely have a 360 or PS3 section left for new games.
 
I just picked up Too Human for $9.98 at the White Oak SH Target in Garner, NC. It was on the new release endcap by the video games and was tagged at $27.98 but scanned with the lower price.
 
Finally, got EndWar for PS3 for 14.98, and Batman for 360 at 12.48. Been waiting for these to drop forever. And I also think that some Targets do markdowns on Friday, especially because I saw someone doing it today.

Dammit, I finally saw Bourne and GH: Aerosmith at 75% off today, but couldn't bite because of the games I just bought with the GS B2G1. All of the Tomb Raiders were gone too :cry:

Bite at all costs. Just tell yourself, great games @ 75% off! Plus Target has a 90-day return policy. Leave them wrapped and if you change your mind just trade them or return to Target.

Is Brothers in Arms worth 14.98? I'm thinking of picking it up but I have a huge backlog of games to play already thanks to Target

I beat the single player and enjoyed it. The story is painful, but the gameplay is fun, especially if you aren't burned out on WWII games.

It depends, at the Target I work at (in electronics) research is done Monday, with the actual drops on Tuesdays. I know we also did not do many clearance drops because, for our store at least, this past Thursday was inventory night and all week there was prep for it. So depending on location, the reason for not many drops might be because of prep for inventory and such.
 
My Target must have found a small box of PS2 games because suddenly a few greatest hits games showed up in clearance I don't remember them having... (Jack, MX vs ATV, etc for $13.98)

Plus, they moved the clearance section, since Monday, for the 5th time in 6 weeks.. or 6th time in 7 weeks.. it's now in books. Almost gave up on finding the magical mystery clearance section before I stumbled across it.
 
The West 117th Target still doesn't have any price drops. I saw Brothers in Arms $29.98, GH: Aerosmith $20, and Soul Calibur IV for $29.98 (according to the scanner). Phooey.
 
Is the clearance section where they say like "9.99 games" and then "19.99 games" etc? Because thats where I always look, but maybe it's just normal game prices (it is actually, but maybe there is a separate place for clearance games?)

If its in its own clearance section then I've been missing these deals this entire time...

There's usually an endcap where instead of having a price at the top it will have a Clearance sign. Usually they'll be a bunch of random items there with red tags.

I see...jeez...I havent seen that, so I guess Ill have to ask them at the store.
 
The clearance games are all with the rest of the full priced games inside the display cases at one of my targets. They don't have a seperate section of them, except for the occasional DS/GBA little kids game. I got Last Remnant there yesterday for $14.xx. I saw that they finally put Rock Band Special Edition for the PS3 on clearance for $97.xx. I have been to about 5 targets and have not seen SC4 for any price. :(
