This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Don't worry about it. No Blu-Ray game on the PS3 (aside from a few sports games) runs in a native 1080p resolution. Your hdtv will do a better job upscaling the picture to 1080p than the PS3 so just leave it at 720p as that's the resolution the developers intended it to be played.

Consoles this generation are not powerful enough to render games at a native 1080p.

What about the 360 then? I've noticed many of its games are 1080p like Soul Calibur IV whereas PS3 version gets stuck with 720p. How do you explain that?

The games aren't actually rendered in native 1080p but merely upscaled. It's the same thing as putting a youtube video to full screen. I can make my youtube videos play at a resolution higher than 1080p, but that doesn't mean it'll look good. It's the same thing with the 360 and PS3. The only difference is that the 360 has a separate hardware upscaler that the PS3 lacks. This allows the 360 to scale all its games to 1080p. Doesn't mean it'll look any better considering your hdtv does the exact same thing to all signals its outputting.

after all this the answer is yes the 360 version does run at 1080p. :applause:

Yea but it's not 1080p native so it really doesn't matter if it runs in 1080p or not.

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-251273.aspx

Although the 360 version may upscale to 1080p, it actually renders at a resolution lower than the PS3 version. The PS3 version renders in full 720p while the 360 version renders at 1024X576. This is the reason why the PS3 version of the game has more framerate problems than the 360 version as it is more taxing on the hardware.

People need to understand that just because a game can run at 1080p doesn't mean that the game is actually rendered natively in 1080p.

oooo i was just answering the question, i didn't mean to step on your toes. no need for a nerd fight LMAO
that's a quick drop for xblades. just came out a month ago right? stay away at any cost though
That's overly dramatic. It looks like a decent game and for 75% off I don't see why it would be any less of a purchase than Too Human.

As for the AV nerd talk, who gives a shit? Games look exactly the same to me on my Bravia. Resolution wars are retarded.

Yea I saw Xblades for 41.xx the other day... then a few days later either some one bought it for that price..or my local assclown stashed it so he can pick it up for a cheap price later.

Looks like all the Targets in the San Antonio area got rid of their old selection of clearance games to make room for Afro Samurai for PS3 ($41.98) and X-Blades for 360 ($41.98). Oh, and about a million and a half copies of some cheerleader game for DS. Guess I missed out on $20 Bioshock for PS3.

If I remember correctly...are you referencing the Chantilly Target, or the Fair Lakes one? I've never been to the Fair Lakes one, but I pretty reguarly drop by the Chantilly one and I wouldn't be suprised to hear there was a hider/hoarder there, seen quite a few odd pop-ups and dissapearances. If you see my post a page or so back, I am having some CHRONIC problems with a hider in Falls Church. Now, the Skyline Target however....

The whole point was that there is no resolution war. Both consoles do pretty much the same thing, and gamecovers are a bit misleading in that respect.

OK NoVa CAGs,

Pentagon Row (Jeff Davis Highway) Target has:

:360:Tomb Raider Underworld $14.98
:360:Soul Calibur IV $14.98

1 copy each, on an end cap to the left of the TVs.

Also; how prevalent is the :ps3:RB SE showing up at $34.XX? I saw it listed as that in the OP, but all 6-7 copies of it I have seen in my area are still $69.XX. Just curious, looking to pick it up as a gift for a friend if I can snag it at 75%.

I've seen a few LCD TV display models with clearance stickers on them. I'd love it if they'd stick around long enough to at least hit 50% off but I know there's fat chance of that happening. If the customers don't get them the employees will.

Yea there is a admitted stasher here in the Target thread for the NOVA area. Funny is that I saw his trade list the other day about him bragging about selling games below retail, but you can clearly see that all his titles are from Target clearances with free shipping, yet in some of the photos, it looks like he pealed the new lower price off so everyone is paying the previous higher price. :whistle2:$

Oh well, I am not buying games that I don't want just for clearance or reselling purposes.

There's no game that supports 1080p yet. So the answer is no.
There's no game that supports 1080p yet. So the answer is no.
Technically there are a few sports games, PSN and XBLA games that render at 1080p natively. However it seems like most of the people here don't understand all the techincal jargon and simply think that an HDTV makes everything look better, regardless of whether or not an HD signal is actually put through. Let's not confuse their little minds.

The Sony sports games(NBA 09 and MLB the Show) are natively in 1080p. As is GT5:p.

There's only a handful of native 1080p games though.

If you really want to get technical, GT5:p does not run in native 1080p. It only comes close during the showroom mode but the actual gameplay itself is rendered in a much lower res.

That is unfortunate. I really can't understand the psyche of the hider who is doing it to re-sell. I mean...I would think that even with the 75% off games, the most you would make after shipping and posting fees on eBay, etc, would be about $10. And given the constant trips for hiding, checking stashes, and buying at multiple Targets (plus gas)...that prob comes out to like, $1.25-$2.50 an hour? If that?
but what game can run on a 50' oled tv better? LMAO
I can't even afford a 10' OLED TV. I don't want to even talk about 15' OLED TV's.

Just someone who is a greedy person in life who thinks they can make a quick buck..but in the end they are the one's losing more money.

Might I ask who this is in reference too?

Thanks for sparing us the lecture.

how early are price changes generally done at targets?

just curious because i'd like to wake up and make my rounds and see if any copies of LR or TRU pop up, while also checking to see if Afro has dropped any further.

It depends on each individual Target. Some do it before or just as soon as they open while some do the markdowns in the middle of the week.

While I was on vacation in Kansas City, MO I hit the Barry Rd Target (it's a super) and saw Mirrors Edge 360 for $27.xx... DCPI {207-22-0311}

They also had Turok 360 for $20.xx but I didn't remember the DCPI.

Nothing good at my Target, although I think this one may be a new drop:

:ps3:Singstar: Abba $9.98

The OP still has it listed at $19.XX.

Picked up

:ps3:
Soul Calibur IV $12.xx
Rock Revolution $4.98
Rock Band SE $34.xx

Saw

:ps3:
Bolt $7.xx
Blitz 2 $9.xx

I got seriously lucky with the Rock Band bundle. I saw a stack of 3 at the end cap but was saddened to see that it was still marked $64.xx. As I was about to head to the cashier to purchase the other PS3 games, a price team lady comes wheeling in. I politely asked her to check the price and lo and behold, it rang up for $34! Success!

What days do they put the new clearance titles out at your targets ? I went there yesterday and they had no Wii titles , probably because the B2G1 free deal in the ad this week
nice! singstar ABBA might be worth it to me. Do rock band mics work with singstar?
No the RockBand Mic will not work w/ singstar, but singstar mics will work with RB

Been waiting for the PS3 one to drop, there are about 6-7 of em at various Targets in my area that have been sitting at $69.XX. Sadly I am stuck at work, so I'll have to check em afterward; if they did drop hopefully there is still one left somewhere.
nice! singstar ABBA might be worth it to me. Do rock band mics work with singstar?
SingStar games require SingStar mics. You cannot play the games with any other microphones.

You can use the SingStar mics in other games, however.
I would love Blitz at $10. I don't know why.
Yeah same here. I think I can wait a week or two for it to drop to $4.98 ;).

I thought for sure that today would be the day that :ps3: Singstar ABBA and :ps3: Soul Caliber IV would drop at my local Target, but no go.

Hopefully next week.

Did find R6V2 for the PC for $13.98 though.

Saw Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for $41.98 but passed. I'm hoping it goes down in the next few weeks. I did pick up GHIII for $9.99 on sale and a Phillips 3-way HDMI switch for $34.98, which was regularly $69.99. I have an HD receiver, HDMI 360, and PS3, so this was absolutely perfect for me. Thanks to whoever first mentioned it!

Knowing what I do about how Target does returns, could I take advantage of the Wii B2G1 free sale to get Madworld for $35? Doesn't the receipt end up just distributing the cost evenly amongst the games?
Yeah same here.
