This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Nice score on the Asus EEE PC 4Gb surf model (that's the model they are), mine were that price a 3 weeks ago. Went back today they have 4 left for.....drumroll.....$171, so I bought another and returned the other one.

So a EEE pc for $171 isnt too bad
I also picked up a EEE semi hard case from Target on Clearance for $13 as well

I also saw Afro Samurai for the ps3 $29 and a 4GB micro sd card with adapter for $15 so I might bite on either of those.
 
Saw Far Cry 2 :360: for $19.98 and MLB FoM for $27.98. Hoping for a quick drop on these. I've been waiting for Abba to get to $9.98 for 3 weeks now.

I saw it at that price also. I can't justify buying it for that though. Im hoping for a quick drop to the $14.99 price, but I doubt it will last that long. I have only seen that at 2 places and only 2 copies at each place.

went to two targets in austin, texas, one had ps3 rock band se for 68.xx still, blitz and abba for 9.xx and some ps2 games. the other one had probably 20 or so copies of x-bladez for 2x.xx and a few copies of tiger woods for 2x.xx Don't remember the real amount either 28.xx or 29.xx. Afro Samurai hasn't hit clearance here and it seems that people bought up far cry and mirrors edge from last weeks drops.

Tried to purchase Disney Sing It for the 360 in Smyrna, TN. When they rang it up, it asked for the price, and they wanted to charge me the full 59.99. Is there any easy way to get the clearance price in that situation? I believe it should actually be 9.99. Thanks.

I'm guessing you missed the concept of YMMV. The only way to get the lower price is to find a store that actually is selling it for said price. Target does not have a universal clearance price concept.

Richlough, just got a ps3 rockband today, I happy you have you receipt. In Grand Rapids mich. Nothing, I talk to a few employees and someoone is running around and getting all the 360 clearance games to selling them craigslist in town. I hope he drop dead soon( I mean ill)

picked up a few pc games at the oviedo, fl target

Picked up Singstar ABBA for $9.98 today. It was the only one of 5 with a 75% off tag. The rest had $19.98 prices. DPCI numbers matched and rang up for the higher price, but the CSR adjusted it. They have been $19.98 forever in my area and apparently still are. Don't know how many actually care about this one, but there it is.

Saw 2 Rock Band SE for PS3 tagged for 69.xx but didn't scan and 1 copy left of Mirrors Edge for $27.xx at the Glendale Galleria Target if anyone is interested.

Why do they have forums that help people find deals. This site has great info on deals, but if I never leave my house how am I suppose to get in on them...:roll: How does anyone, let alone a member whose been here a little over 3 years make an absurd comment like this. What's the point in having forums about XBOX 360? I don't own one.
 
Went to my Target tonight and saw they finally have some clearance games OUT from behind the glass case and on the little end-cap of clearance items.

They usually leave them behind the glass which leaves people SEEING them at good reduced prices and the lack to hide one, but I was able to stash a Mirror's Edge in a not too obvious place in toys on a high up shelf; it practically disappeared.

I'm hoping it gets a big price drop soon from its $27.98 sticker, and I'll know exactly where mine is in case the sell out.


Question--- if they clearance it more and all the visible copies sell out (OR they send them back to the company), but it shows they have one more in their system they can't find (my hidden gem), what becomes of the product at checkout, and price too?

can they makeup a price, or will it ring up as the lowest discounted of the others
 
it will get marked oos (out of system) so you'll get the last known discount price, unless you can talk your way into getting them to discount it, sometimes if its still not oos it will scan in at the new low price

Wow that is so weird. I did the exact same thing. Not in the toys section, but elsewhere. I never usually stash items, but they had a number of copies of Mirror's Edge left so I was like, what the hell.

Went to a few SoCal Targets and no go on these net books . There are none in San Diego county if anyone is looking . Hopefully that saves you guys some time and gas .

I also picked up that HDMI switcher. I had registered for it last fall for my upcoming wedding in May. It was ~$125 when I registered for it. I didn't want to take the chance of somebody *maybe* getting it for a wedding gift.
 
Dunno if this is reported yet BUT Quantum of Solace for PC is 7.48

The thing that pisses me off though is that they SAY that they have 6 copies of Ace Combat 6 but they couldn't find them in the store...I dunno is the game worth it?

I might be able to get a GC soon for GS so I was wondering if I should use it on that or preorder Modern Warfare 2 (11-10-09 hopefully)

Opinions?

My opinion is that you should not use this thread for game reviews. You could ask both these questions somewhere else on the site and get sufficient answers, read some site that reviews games or check out opinions at Amazon.com.
