This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I went to a Target the other day to get some shaving razors and kitty litter and decided to go check out the games. I saw a semi-sketchy looking guy with about 5-6 games in his hands walking around various aisles. Next thing you know, a security guard had him sitting on the ground by the toy section with 2-3 Target employees around him.

I stayed in the DVD aisle to overhear what was going on. He was trying to explain about how he was going to hide his "stash" in the toy aisle and they were accusing him of attempting to steal. The security guard and employees were less than empathetic and really didn't understand why he would do such a thing. I left before I saw the end result, but it was rather humorous watching this dude get punked for a couple of 360 and DS games he wanted to hide.

Lesson boys and girls...even if you think they aren't watching, they probably are. Good luck trying to explain why you are "hiding" inventory.

I saw a semi-sketchy looking guy with about 5-6 games in his hands walking around various aisles. That is kind of scary considering I routinely price check about 4-6 games at a time (my local is reaaaaally bad about having up to date stickers), and the only working scanner is half way across the store. Hopefully I never get gang tackled going to the scanner ;)

Was at a Target yesterday that had all the red label Greatest Hits PS2 games on clearance for $13.xx. Only thing halfway decent was Kingdom Hearts, which I may pick up a extra sealed copy or two if they get down to $5. Sure it will be good trade bait 2 or 3 years from now if I throw 'em in the closet and forget about them.

buzz master quiz (psp) - 13.98
not much of a drop reg is 19.99 and BB has it for 15.99.
I really want it so I might just bite now instead of waiting for the 9.98 sweet spot.

also if anyone else haunts the burleson,tx target they moved some games to the clearance rack located between magazines and movies. (just leave some for me)

Just what are you planning to do to that poor cat?

The security guard could get into some trouble - that's false imprisonment. If they don't see him leave the store with unpaid merchandise he hasn't done anything wrong. What would they tell the police? He was walking around the store with some games arrest him!

When I worked at Target it would be entertaining to watch the Asset Protection people hiding behind shelves spying on the lifter and then casually walk out the door with the customer and walk back in through the employee entrance and into the security room. I had the best job in the store -pushing carts - so I could follow the action.
OK e-Nanny, I did a little research, since you are soooooooooooooo concerned about people "cluttering" up this thread. And I think I found the person responsible for most of the clutter. His name is.....SHOE478. Including the above quote, here are your last 9 posts in this thread:

So 9 posts in this thread in a month, and you didn't report a single location, game, price, or drop. Who is cluttering the thread, you fucking hypocrite troll?

Seems a little odd to harass the guy before he even leaves the store. Sounds like the guy should a) have told the guy to fuck off and not told him a damn thing, as walking around the store holding something is not even a moral crime, and b) asked for the general manager and asked that person to explain targets policy on customer harassment and how it builds customer loyalty.

They should fire the moron who stopped the poor CUSTOMER, hiding games does not make him a hoarder, it's not like he bought 20 games to sell on ebay.

The story is funny, but what actually happened is just not right.

Dude, I had that job back in 01', BEST JOB EVER!!! That's how I discovered Target clearance endcaps! Though I only worked 12 hours a week, lot of eye candy at Target!

Abba will never drop here apparently. Nearly a month and still $20.

As I'm unemployed currently, I like to go to stores mid day on a weekday. There are a suprisingly large number of customers around and a lot more crazies. I always look around thinking, why aren't these people at work?

Also, half the fun of CAG is reading the stories between deal postings. Its one thing to spam, it's another to add some humor for me to read while I'm deal hunting.
Yes! Why is it that I see more beautiful women at Target than I do any other store.
Well, there is a very simple explanation for that. Target's business model is centered around providing an affordable big box concept that is a step up from the dreaded Wal-Mart, both in look and price. Also, a large amount of their clothing and homewares/decorations are aimed at the college/just out of college age demo. As such, the store appeals to 18-25 year olds moreso than Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will suck in the older women that don't give a shit about being trendy, they just need to save money for their families. Target on the other hand, is going to be full of twenty-something women who still want to feel sophisticated and adult in their clothing and decoration, yet don't have the scrill to jump over to Macy's, etc., since they are just out of college and working an entry level job.

Yes, I have thought about this before, because the Targets around me are CRAWLING with cute twenty somethings.

Yeah for some reason Target has always been a hot spot for women... maybe it is because of the Starbucks in most of them ha ha who knows because there is nothing else there you cant find anywhere else except Target brand items....

Possibly it is Target is more accepted by the masses as a cheaper alternative store rather then peoples perception of Walmarts..

BTW with the recent explosion of chatter over thread clutter.... Why does it matter, as long as the OP does thier job and keeps the first post updated all needed info is there as well as all the other threads.. granted it may make life a bit harder to locate someone posting something but its not going to end someones life... if anything possibly the OP that manages the thread would be open to getting "Pm's" from people alerting to a new deal and just keep a date in the main title letting people know the thread is current to date "X"....

Alright I will stop before I get yelled at for thread crapping or Cluttering it up and making it harder for someone to go snatch up all the deals ha ha...

Happy EASTER Everyone :bouncy:

I happen to have a job where I only work four days a week (and one of those from home) so I always go to the Targets mid-day on my off day (instead of the mobbed weekends/evenings). I always run into a gang of MILFs. Maybe they go shopping so they wont be couped up in the house with the kids, but it's amazing the number of housewives in my area (it's kinda expensive around here, two-incomes are the norm).

I was in Leominster, MA Target yesterday and their was tons of clearance. WD Hardrives, Cordless Phones, DVD Players, Wireless Adapters, etc.
Twisted Metal Head on PS2 $13.98
Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked PS2 $13.98
Speed Racer PS2 $13.98
Marvel Ultimate Alliance PS2 $13.98
Family Guy PS2 $13.98
The Incredible Hulk PS2 $13.98
Socom Combined Assault PS2 $13.98
Blitz II PS3 $9.98
Unreal Tournament 3 PC $13.98
Dark Sector 360 $13.98
there were lots more clearance PS2 games.
Abba will never drop here apparently. Nearly a month and still $20.
I saw it around here for $10 within the last week or two. It was probably either the Hurst (183/Pipeline) or Irving (635 McArthur) Target. Case in point, there's bound to be a store in Dallas close to you that's dropped.

Still not sure why anyone would actually want ABBA though. I guess maybe if you grew up with your parents listening to them all day or something.

I've been meaning to go to the Irving one for a while now.
It's still 20 at the Bedford (Glade/121) and Lewisville (35/121) stores.
Thanks!

PSP Ratchet & Clank (1st one) amongst the $19.99 games dropped to $13.98 - one of the better PSP titles....

and in the last two days picked up a bunch of 75% off dog and cat items ... they also have gerbil/hamster, fish, & parrot items...
oh and this morning very nice mini fridge with stainless steel front down 75% to $34.xx ... wish I needed one ...excellent price ....

geesh guys the "girl" posts are getting old real fast ... I think we all get it ...

One of my favorite moments of a million was when a Head Cashier asked where I was over the walkie talkie and the manager on duty replied over the walkie "He's probably talking to some girls" - I didn't hear it but a coworker told me about it and said it was pretty funny.

Just adding to the convo that yes, Target does have a ton of hot girls working at their stores. We had more than my fair share in the ~8 years I spent (worked there through latter part of HS and on breaks from college) working at the one down the road from where I live.

So my post is only semi-clutter:

At the waukesha, wi target the Blu-ray PS3 bundle dropped from like $34.xx to $24.xx, I bought it and returned the first one I bought,I'll sit on it until they are all gone or return and buy one if it drops again...I could always use another HDMI cable...

Speaking of most the Women there.....they are not only hotties but according to this pamphlet I read in the break room while I worked there....."80% of our female shoppers have bachelor's degree" so not only are a lot of them hot but they're not dumb broads with like 10 baby daddies and looking for you to be the next baby daddy!

all this talk about this....I'm gonna have to go to Target today...just to look at the "menu", but no ordering from the "menu" as I am married....not even an appetizer...

oh, and I'll have a full report on clearance games later tonight

WTF, I have never seen anyone that was more than mildly attractive at Target.

get a job there and you'll see them....unless you already have a job there, than transfer to another Target.

Afro Samurai was at $29.xx on Monday

Can you please tell me if it was the PS3 version?

I actually think the lesson here is that if Target doesn't stop harassing their customers for not doing anything wrong they are going to get sued.

Can you please tell me if it was the PS3 version?

Yes it was the PS3 version, they had like 10 copies. Was suprised it came down from $41.xx in one week....this after it took three weeks for Rock band and TRU to drop from %50% to 75% clearance

Dropped by a Target at lunch, didn't see anything new, just a TON of :ps2: stuff getting dumped at 30%, which seems to be happening everywhere from the sounds of it. Though I did see :ps2:Jak and Daxter: TPL for $6.98, which is not bad at all.

EDIT: Almost forgot. I've seen :pc:Prison Tycoon 4:Supermax [201-02-0153] at 50% ($9.98) at two different Targets. If it hits $4.98 I'm biting, if only so I can throw people in the hole
How fast do these generally drop, I'm looking for mirrors edge less then 20
Complete YMMV. It could drop next week in some places and stay above $20 at yours for a month. Your best bet is to figure out which day your Target updates clearance (they'll have scanners and stickers and carts full of junk everywhere), and drop by once a week on that day to check the price.

Went to Target@Riverside on Arlington.

Picked up

X-Blades $29.98
WD Elements 750 GB External HD $74.98 [080-00-0987]

Pretty good price on the HD if you ask me. I picked one up on Amazon about a month ago for $69.99 as a DoD. They had about 9-12 more I hope I can score one at 75% off but those are high hopes! Stuff like that usually sells pretty fast.

ya dallow i go to the bedford one from time to time and it still pisses me off that the moved the clearance closer to the games. it used to be by the outdoor furniture and was loaded with goodies. now it sucks.

Picked up Quantum of Solace for the PC for $7.98 at College Point Target in Queens.

There was one copy left.
Saw 1 Soul Calibur 4 for the PS3 at $34.98 and 1 The Incredible Hulk for the 360 at $20.98
Lots of other kids and crap titles left.

Target in Clarence, NY had Afro Samurai (PS3) for $29.98, ABBA Singstar for $9.98, X-Blades (360) for $41.98 (PS3 version was full $60) and had MLB Front Office Mgr (360) for $27.xx

The store usually doesnt have anything good, only if you were shopping for cheap DS and GBA games would you find anything good.

Though they had some good TV show DVDs going on, none of which I bit on simply to save cash. All three seasons of Arrested Development were $12 each, Burn Notice was $18, all Seinfelds were $12, and plenty more.

When I went early this week WD external HD's 750 GB had dropped to $50 on clearance, still couldn't bring myself to bite cause they are WD

That was at the Richland, WA target
...still couldn't bring myself to bite cause they are WD.
Bad experience w/ WD? I've had the best experience, I usually recommend them over any other manufacturer. The WD drives I've dealt with over the last 10 or so years just refuse to die.

Haven't dealt with their external drives, though, just the internal ones.

Ive had 2 WD MyBooks fail on me within the span of 5 months. I will never buy a WD HDD again. After that I bought a Seagate and 2 years later, its still going strong

The WD Essentials seem to be a cheaper model. It used to be a standard 5 year warranty on Seagate & WD HD's and there are many now with 3 or less.

Wow, I have the exact opposite experience. Both Seagates and Maxtors have had a high failure rate for me (talking darn near 100%)...and WD have no problems whatsoever. Short of smashing them w/ a sledge hammer, I can't kill 'em.
