This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Im just saying all that was left in abundance was a Charlie brown game a thomas the train game and a massive amount of sam & max's for the pc and shovelware wii games that sadly seems nobody wants ( bring out Fatal Frame Nintendo ! ) All mirrors edge , far cry 2, xblades , nadda .

Why all the hate for SD? Seems to me like CAG is the hostile one. Trying to read for deals but the last 10 pages is all about "omg can't find the game I want, SDers must have bought it". Seriously grow up. This forum is suppose to help each other save money, it does not guarantee you to. If people are gonna blame SDers for not finding the game they want, then might as well blame CAGs as well.

I can understand that they should have given credit or wutnot, but that's not the main complaint I'm hearing. What I'm hearing is "SDers are a bunch of retards and doesn't deserve deals" (okay not word for word but you know what I mean) which is just selfish and you are one of those retards you're blaming every SDers to be.
 
I don't visit SD myself. But I certainly have seen a lot of post in CAG that originated from SD.
I don't see the big deal.
But it seems I'm in the minority.

What's particularly amusing is how upset confirmed stashers and hoarders are over the posting on SD. It's ok for them to deny fellow CAGers (and other customers) their stashed/hoarded copies, but it's not ok for an SDer to hoard them? Hypocrites.

However, taking the OP's hard work and copying it to SD is inexcusable. Some people are beyond reproach.

This is an excellent thread and has saved me a ton of money. Thanks to the OP and everyone who has posted good info.

I am a member of both SD & CAG.. Infact I found out about CAG from SD.
Both sites are great IMO. That is why I frequent both sites several times a day.

Many deals are copied from either site, sometimes they give credit where credit is due. Other times they dont. Such is life.
What Kid did is a bit lame, especially if he only did it to get a bunch of reps over there. But heres the deal from what I have seen with SD...
Threads over there die pretty fast usually. Many threads like this get buriered in a matter of a day or so typically.

The only thing that everyone from CAG is doing is bumping that thread & keeping it alive. If you dont post in it, it will disappear.

As to SD being a bunch of "hoarders" well same thing can be said about CAG. However its usually only a handful of people from each site that give the entire site a bad name.
CAG has plenty of admitted hoarders as well. But that doesnt mean every person on CAG is a hoarder. There are also a bunch of lurkers on both sites that will also hoard. But theres not much you can do.

The best thing for everyone to do here @ CAG is to just let that SD thread die..

You're not in the minority. No one is saying you shouldn't post deals you find on other boards. The issue is that, in many people's opinions, SD lurkers flat-out copy and paste someone else's work and post it as their own on SD. You say you don't visit SD, but you see many deals form there on CAG. That means that the CAG is at least giving them credit for the deal.

Anyone who takes the time to compile a clearance list this one or jp's GS TIV thread, they get nothing out of it. They do it for CAG. The least we can give them is the credit for their work.

I agree 100% with this.

To add, my target used to have a lot of clearance items in it. My location never got posted on either site. Many factors play in this besides websites... millions shop at Target (more foot traffic causes more people to see the clearance games), new employees that game (can store the ones they want in the back until the magic price point), people who hide games (it has been discussed openly on here), resellers, how Target deals with clearance items (mine used to be behind an aisle that was more in sports than electronics; now they resides on the budget video game aisle), etc. People need to stop blaming the sites when there is more involved in why they arent finding these games. Without the sites, people on these sites wouldn't know nearly the amount of deals they take advantage of.

I think the system was utilized so that people could base the strength of a discussed deal on the number of "reps" the individual had. I know earlier on SD would hold contests for people with enough "rep" points - getting free gift cards and items.

Now that I think about it, it's pretty ridiculous.

And as someone mentioned, deals and deal discussion tend to die there quickly because of the sheer amount of deals that get posted throughout the day. Thankfully we are a video game based deal forum.

He's right, markdowns vary from store to store, and change constantly. I have visited stores that will markdown on Mondays, than sometimes on Wednesday or Friday.

Kidu was contacted by cheapyd yesterday and then (only then) added a CAG link (not sure if I care for the link, but not my call)

Late yesterday, Kidu then posts this BS -

I do not think there is any importance with "credit" being given (sorry but giving credit does not change the new, noncontributing audience it now has) Kidu gives the impression FOS is just handed the items and all the details. Dozens of members (including myself) take time to note titles, DCPIs and of course prices. Many also check the list and only post changes to minimize FOSs work. All this takes time and a consertive effort. The SD pirated thread now has 8 pages of posts and not ONE NEW CONTRIBUTION! KIDU NOTES ABOVE HE PREFERS SD :)roll: WONDER WHY?) AND WILL BE UPDATING HIS NEW THREAD. SO IF SD MEMEBERS ARE NOT CONTRIBUTING, HIS DATA WILL COME FROM CAG. (THE SD STOLEN THREAD ALREADY HAS 27.000 HITS IN 24 HOURS FROM NON CONTRIBUTERS)
and CAGs long running Target clearance thread being copied is NOT the same as an occassional deal shared between sites.

I'm not Ok with the fact anything new I post here will be copied to SD.
 
Since this is bothering some people, why not limit the amount of people who can see it. For example, people who have a certain amount of posts or something like that.
 
I guess Kidouche got rich off all that rep he received. It's probably more valuable than that space money on Wednsday's South Park Episode.

We should move on and should be happy to know the SD thread will not be as kept up or successful as this one.

It does stink. However the SDers tend to be "low-wattage" so that's in our favor.
kidu will keep coming back. The only way to stop him is an IP ban and there are ways around that.

I went to target and Resident evil 5 was on clearance, 29.99 at my target in florida (not really).

It makes CAG look worse when you go over there and name call (i wont say who, but its childish and you should know better)...

Just let it go. Each time you post, it brings it back to front page. Just let it die. I have 1k+ reps over there and rarely post anymore. The mods care less over there about something like that, so seriously, let it fade.

I heavily doubt it will get deleted, hell the same thing goes on here. Someone ripped off my front page deal from there and posted it here on his own, I pmed the mods and they deleted my posts in the thread and let him have it. I've stopped caring about stupid things like that now, but its pointless for this to continue.

Just end this debate, keep posting deals, and stop going over there. You're generating more traffic for them instead of on here.

Blah, I've been checking ever since somebody mentioned they were on clearance. They have yet to be on clearance at my store (Wilsonville, OR), and are still $39.99, and I think they only have 1 red one left! Lame. I need the storage space for my Wii games.

I do hope that Ottoman is on sale at my local Target, I've been wanting one of these on the cheap. It'd be a perfect place for controllers.

I could give two shits about credit. I also think cross posting of the deals is fine. What bothers me is him copying the list I put together. When I took over for the Target clearance thread, there was no list. So, I had to read the last 25-30 pages of the current thread, compile a list, make a new thread, create the format for the list (which may or may not be a good format, I don't know) and say LOL here I am contribute and I'll keep the list. So you guys post drops, I try to write down anything I see and I keep the list.

Then this smurf of a guy just simply copies the post and thinks he's accomplished something. This list was created by the CAG community, for the CAG community, not so that some dumbass could easily paste it into another message board and be considered a savior by his SD peers. If he wants to make his own SD thread, he should have created a "Target video games clearance thread", posted what he's seen himself in the store and asked for contributions. But, no, Slickdeals would rather sit around using five or six of these emoticons

I couldn't believe it?! Xbox 720s for $2!!! PS6s for $5!!!! DSi's for $.50!!! No pics...but the deals were awesome. :lol:

I was just at the Cobb, Georgia Target and saw a boatload of copies of Mirror's Edge (360) for $8.67... for some reason they were all marked "as-is". Looks like they were all accidentally cut with a boxcutter! Lucky day!

Wow.. if only the targets I've been to would mark boxcut games as-is, when I was looking for SC4 every store I went to had 1 of them boxcutted.

They clearanced it out about 6 weeks ago for the same price. Now all that's left is the Wii and PS2 versions both $109.99 right now (not on clearance)
