This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Has anyone else had stuff moved from their Target that was behind the glass case? I get this feeling my Target is putting stuff in the back and then bringing it back out when it hits 75%.

I swear I saw X-Blades at $30 last week and it was no where to be found this week. Unless someone felt that was a "steal", I'm going to have to check each week instead of every other week. What sucks is I can't use the price checker since it's an old model that just list the price and nothing more.

It should drop soon enough to less than $20.. that game is in no way worth $30...

Some Target's are slower than others. I went to one last week that had none of the new stuff on clearance. That's why it's YMMV.

Are u scanning them or just going by the stickers? My target NEVER stickers them but they always ring up clearance prices.
 
I scaned the actual boxes at the store for those 2. Was hoping the tage for far cry was wrong since it was listed as 9.89... :(

Its 26 used at GS so I may have to get it there.

Oh, I assumed that you had screwed yourself out of a 30% discount. I thought that Target would want you to bring the monitor back in, not just take your word for it.

Actually no, the games were on an end cap and a bit hard to find. Note, when you are looking for the clearance games, they may not all fit at one of the standard game clearance racks (the ones with all the crappy ps2 and wii titles)

In this case it was a rack of mostly game accessories with a shelf at the top full of xbox360 and ps3 titles.

I actually like a few of their songs....ok, ok, I'm asking for the jokes. But I do. And picking it up for only $9.xx makes it a no-brainer for me. It was one game I was hoping I'd catch at that price.

Actually, this entire thread is fake and no one should waste their time looking for Target clearance deals! They don't exist, they really don't!!
 
I think the console version of Quantum of Solace will go into clearance soon. Yesterday when I was at Target the game did not have a price tag even though it was inside the glass case.

I had to ask a Target employee to find the price of the game, who took five minutes to scan and find the price, which was $30. Also the PC version is already in clearance so it would not be surprising if the console version was put on clearance as well.

So yea, possibly expect a clearance on the console versions of QoS.

It was priced at $29.99 at my store and umarked as NCF, don't expect clearance just yet. Do expect the price drop to $29.99 at your store, though.

It had previously been marked as NCF which usually signals clearance items, but I noticed the NCF was no longer on the price tag, so take that for what it is worth.
 
I think I actually might have to thank someone on the SD Target thread. Mirror's Edge disappeared from all my local Targets, but someone on SD said there were a bunch at the Burbank one for $20. I stopped by on my way to my parents' house, and bam!, at least 7 copies. Finally found this game at that price.
 
Seems like this crop of games are taking forever to drop.. that fuckin Sonic hasx been $34.xx at all 3 of our Targets for WEEKS now. Samething with FC2 $19.xx for weeekss..
 
My Target had Far Cry 2 (360) for $13.98 (30% off $19.98). I thought that was strange since the base price everywhere else was $39.99, but it's something to look out for perhaps.

Non-clearance related, the store also had a bunch of new games added to the budget aisle. Lego Indiana Jones and Battlefield Bad Company returned from clearance exile. Quantum of Solace was also there so that might make it less likely to be clearance as someone guessed. They also had the new Gears of War Platinum Hits package.

found one lone copy of ME for 27.xx but that price is way to high and to confirm this i was at Best Buy a few mins later and they had it at regular price for 30 bones so i wouldn't pay over 14.xx for it!
 
I picked up the last copy of Company of Heroes Gold at the Eagle Rock Target. There wasn't a copy at the Pasadena location either. I looked for the gaming ottomans, but didn't find one. I found a OOS Guitar Hero Aerosmith (game only) which had the clearance sticker scratched off, but I'm not particular interested in that game, even if they gave it to me for $5.

Unrelated, Sterilite 45 Qt drawers were on sale for $9.99, so I grabbed a couple of those.
 
There were a fair number of clearance titles at my store (Montclair, CA) but I only remember a few prices:

Two Worlds Epic Edition (PC)-- 4.99

Quantum of Solace (PC)-- 7.48

Company of Heroes + expansion-- 20.xx

Sonic Unleashed (360)-- 24.xx

Picked up Two Worlds, figured for 5 bucks it couldn't be that bad... right? :D
 
Nothing good in the Target near me. Like one copy of Sonic Unleashed for X360 and a bunch of crappy DS and Wii games.

I found :ps3:Afro Samurai tonite for $15 and those Sony noise canceling ear buds for $25. Ear buds aren't bad for $25, but I don't see how these could have ever been worth $100.
 
today i went to scan tiger woods 09, when I scanned it it was $41.98. Last week it was $27.98, there's even a sticker on it at that price. Weird.

Nascar 09 $14.98

I wonder if the copy of Afro Samurai is still where I stashed it a week or two ago @ my local Target is down to $15 yet.

They never seem to drop the prices really low though.

Oh and Sharp Katana, was it both versions of X-Blades on clearance? It looked really good, but I've heard otherwise from many people.

Yes it is only the 360 version on clearance which blows my mind, why not both haha..

As for IATCG I would say if you can get it around $20 it's worth a play through just dont compare it to DMC or any those other big blockbuster titles and take it for what it is and build from what the game offers and it can be enjoyable...
 
X-Blades really isn't worth any more than $15. Even as a derivative hack-n-slash (which DMC and NG are not) it's subpar. But it is mindlessly entertaining. It has its moments. It's also very short. I beat it twice in 10 hours and got all the Achievement points in the process, so I've completed everything there is to do in X-Blades (I had to write a review for my blog).
 
Houston Super Target at Eldridge and Richmond has a huge stack of Mirror's Edge for the Xbox 360. I'll scan it when I go there today, but it was already in the clearanced section so I wouldn't sweat it not being the right price. I wish I could find it for the PS3 though. :(

It's been on clearance at $19.98. Strange it wasn't $9.98 since that should be 75%.
 
I haven't had a lot of luck with clearance games at target lately. Most of the time, ones like Mirror's Edge have only a couple copies and they don't usually last past $30 range. Hiding a copy is about the only way to get a copy of one of these down to the best price range. I don't really like doing that.

I did do pretty well today on some technology finds. I picked up a 2 GB Creative Zen for $20. It has an expansion SD slot, which is nice. I also picked up some Sony Noise Canceling headphones for $24. Those will be good at the gym.
 
Grabbed XBlades (they had another copy, hoping for a drop)... and have my eye on MLB Front Office Manager when it drops below $15 (it was 19.XX, I believe)

Also spotted Dead Space (PS3) for this price along with Saints Row 2. Both with standard tags. Surprised about SR2 (they only had the PS3 version so I'm not sure if the 360 version is the same price).

I'm hoping these are a sign of universal drops on both so I can pick up SR2 used. (yes, still too much of a CAG to go for it at $29.99).

Check out your local Best Buy. I picked up the Collectors edition for PS3 at $25 last Friday. They also had the 360 version, though I didn't check the price on that one.

I got a copy for free , and I was still disappointed .
 
Not to promote random chatter, but if anybody frequented the circuit city liquidation, SR2 was one of the games that hung around for a long time. It was suprising because it was fairly new at the time but people just didn't seem to be that interested. Maybe that's why the price may drop universally.

I saw something like this too. My Target expanded their PS3 shelving and they had 2 rows of $30 games including the greatest hits games. In addition to SR2 and Dead Space, I can also recall Quantum of Solace.

They also moved the clearance games right next to that rack so they are far more visible now... sigh...
