This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I know this should belong in the Target Clearance thread, but I thought that this deal was too good to pass up, especially since items get lost in the Target thread. If you can find a copy of PoP for the 360 at your local Target, there is a possibility that it's marked down to $15. Of course, YMMV depending on your location.

I found my copy at the Target off of Convoy in San Diego for all my locals out there :) Happy hunting!
 
heres some actual TARGET news... I snagged Prince of Persia and Afro today for $14.98... both 360. Anyone wanna swap Lips for PoP? PM me.
 
I think most people would be fine if it was only 2-3 copies.

There big difference between CAGs and HOARDs:

"Hey guys I bought XXXXX at XXXXX for $XX and they have 10 copies left."
"Hey guys I bought all 10 copies of XXXXX for $XX at XXXXX thanks for telling me!"

Heh, this isn't news. The guy sending the Lips is going to get screwed though, that thing is heavy. There is a trade thread for this stuff.
 
i dont think it being a "good deal" is a good enough reason to make a new thread but whatever

yeah as of now its still YMMV, cause at my targets in baltimore MD its still at $30...
 
I think the point here is simple...

Post what you saw, and where you saw it. That's helpful info.

Everything else is useless; and can only really be seen as bragging. Whether you intended it that way or not.

No one needs to know (or really cares) that you bought what you bought, or what your plans are to utilize those games. That's not what the purpose of this thread is.

Just say that you found 25 copies of SVR 2009 at the Token Target location, blah, blah, blah.

You post what you did, and you get the reaction you did.
 
to mention this again: tomb raider for ps3 is at $30 as well

and, if my target hasnt lowered the price of RB2 to 15 or POP to 15, should it happen sometime this week?
 
For some people it dropped a while ago, for some it still hasn't. Cool Springs (Nashville area), TN dropped today.

Amazon sells it for $19.97 and does not charge tax. Yes, Target is still cheaper if you can find it for $14.97, but not by much, especially for ECA members. Even if an exceptional YMMV clearance price did warrant an individual deal thread (it doesn't), $4 to $5 off a game that anyone and everyone can buy for $20 certainly does not qualify.

It is less YMMV than many of the individual BB YMMV threads that have been popping up lately, but it still doesn't warrant its own thread. Deals like this are the reason the Target clearance thread exists.

shoe478: Lips shouldn't have its own thread either. Also, $24.98 at Cool Springs Target, btw.

Edit: Just to be clear, I am not being overly critical here, and I am not trying to discourage people from posting deals, I am just stating the facts. I appreciate the effort, I just feel that it was slightly misguided.

I honestly don't know why any of you all post locations period. Just state the games you saw and the prices and we can all hope the Targets we go to get to that price point soon. Otherwise, I think locations should be kept to PM's.

My post was 2 minutes after the next most recent, so it isn't like I was keeping it on the front page. I agree, you are being overly critical. I didn't state that this wasn't a deal. It is a deal, and it belongs in the Target clearance deal thread. I agree, that posts stating that something isn't a deal just because they aren't interested in the game should be discouraged. Posts stating that something isn't a deal because it is available cheaper elsewhere, however, should be encouraged (assuming details are given on how to get the better deal).

Left 4 Dead didn't ring up properly, but they did adjust the price accordingly. FYI. I'm guessing the non-GOTY is supposed to be on clearance, but someone messed up. Also, looks like someone upthread got HOtD for $27? Hmm...I thought Target changes were company wide. Whatever, wanted this game anyway, so $7 isn't make or break.

There was more, but it was mostly Wii garbage.

It was marked @$30 today at the Chapel Hill Target in Akron, OH. They usually do their price drops on Tuesdays, though, iirc.
 
I looked today and Prince of Persia and Afro Samurai were both $15. At least 10 copies of POP left and 1 of Afro Samurai at the Rockwall TX store

Need for Speed Undercover was still $25 as was Monsters vs Aliens.

Mortal Kombat vs DC was still $30

Wrestling was still $35.

Scene IT BOS was still $27 with controllers
 
For any CAG'ers in Shreveport,LA. The Target there is selling Prince of Persia for $14.98, Scene It? for $19.98 and Your in the Movies for $19.98. I think there are 4 PoP left and maybe one BoS and Movies left! I'm looking for MK vs. DC if any body's seen it for cheap I'd appreciate it!

A;so they had about 4 copies of Lips there for 24.98!! Where were these when I paid 50 for it??

San Fernando Mission FINALLY dropped to $15 for POP. I picked up two, one for a pal, there were still 15+ left. Here's to hoping there are still some around when it hits $8...

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Still haven't seen any decent clearances around LA (west side) Targets. I should definitely start printing out the price lists and manually checking, though...maybe our Target employees are just super lazy...
 
Greensboro, NC Lawndale has quite a few copies of the Prince of Persia for $15 and MK v. DC for $30. The PoPs are behind glass with the other 360 games.
 
Went to 4 Targets. Didn't end up with much, but got:

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - $9.98
Afro Samurai (360) - $14.98
Prince of Persia (360) - $14.98

Also saw:

My buddy grabbed both PoP and Afro Samurai. Then he saw L4D and put the other two back I think. This was St. Peters, MO Target.

Fear 2 was still $34, but I may grab it anyways since I got a $20 giftcard!
 
I saw Dead Rising for 34.xx and House of the Dead Overkill for 34.xx for the Wii and Scene It for the 360 for 20. Got Prince of Persia for 15 and right when I walked up to the games I saw a little kid buying the last Afro Samurai which sucks cause I was interested in it. was also looking for Rock Band 2 but didn't see any.
 
All right, whose the hoarder that bought all the copies of Afro Samurai at the Tustin Marketplace Target? The employee said someone came in and bought them all.
 
one target had afro down to 14, but all 8 copies that were there last week at 30 were gone. THey did have 8 POPs for 15 and i'm thinking about it even though I think i have it for pS3.

Other target still had everything marked up. one afro left at 30, 5 POPs at 30. Both had MKvsDCU for 30. Fear 2 for 34.xx still...

None of them had wii games marked down yet (house of dead or dead rising).

also, none of my targets have any games I want on PSP. Not a single copy of any star ocean anywhere to be found.
 
just got back & picked up PoP & Afro Samurai for $14.98 each

idk if this has been mentioned before but i just saw Saints Row 2 & monster vs Aliens for $34.98 for the 360
 
Richland, WA Target has 22 odd copies of Prince of Persia Xbox 360 for 14.98.

Left 4 Dead Xbox 360 for 34.98, about 4 copies or so. Same for FEAR 2 Xbox 360.

One copy of Saints Row 2 on clearance for Xbox 360 for 34.98. But if you are in the Tri-Cities, do yourself a favor and get it for $19.99 for Xbox 360/PS3 at either Fred Meyer store.

Banjo Xbox 360 is STILL 27.98 no drop for 2 or 3 weeks, as is Box Office Smash w/ controllers Xbox 360.

No Xbox 360 copies of Afro Samurai or Lord of the Rings Conquest were left.
 
Allentown, PA has a TON of Prince of Persia XBox360 for $14.98 as well as what looked like MILLIONS of GHIII:LOR for I think $7.98. Had a few other games mixed in, nothing for PS3, and some shovelware for PSP like Scrabble for $20.98.
 
stopped by another target here in Syracuse, NY and noticed a NFS Undercover(360) for $34 and aliens vs monsters(360) for $34 as well
 
Nothing at my stores has changed for going on into the third week besides GH:III dropped to $7.48.

POP $29.98
Wheelman $29.98
Afro Samurai $29.98

Some new ones for my area:
FEAR 2 $34.98
50 Cent Blood on the Sand $41.98

I dont get my stores they have had the same number of copies at all locations respectively and its been now over 3 weeks and POP, Wheelman and Afro have not budged (guess 1 month may be the one?!?!?!). Luckly I dotn go out of my way each week to try and pick them up because the fuel cost would make it worth it to just buy at $30.

Did pick up Dumb & Dumber Unrated Blu-ray for $4.98 so not a totally wasted trip.
 
Had to go and pick up formula and diapers, so I headed to my local Target (Crystal Lake, IL.).

Decided to go to the clearance section and I saw one copy of L4D calling my name at $34.98. That's the lowest I have seen for a new copy, so of course I snagged it.

They also had a crapload of GHIII for $7.98, POP for $29.98 and a bunch of Wii games I wouldn't give to my worst enemy.

I am just happy I finally got my L4D. Now I just have to wait for Microsoft to ship me back my broken Xbox for the 3rd time. Argghhh!!!!!!!!!!
 
Kennewick, WA store also has a boatload of PoP at 14.98. Might be enough copies to last for another drop, but I decided not to risk it and picked it up. There's at least 12-15 more.
 
Gah, ok, I give up on actually getting these at the Targets around here for my "target" price, given that two stores that I've gone to were out of them, and the other two had put them on the clearance rack still at $29.98 and the numbers are dwindling.

So . . . Would someone whose Target has both Price of Persia and Afro Samurai for $14.98 or less each be willing to pick them it up for me and send them it to me for me for cost + reasonable amount for shipping? I'd really appreciate it. (Don't have anything to trade at the moment, but do have Paypal.) PM me.

(Sorry, yeah, I know this should probably go in the trade thread, but I get the feeling that not many people are actually paying attention over there, so I'm much less likely to get a response.)

EDIT: Managed to get Prince of Persia, so just looking for Afro Samurai now.

Seriously. Are you a mod? No no, seriously. Because every single post I see from you, no matter where or when, is you complaining that someone is doing X instead of Y in forum B instead of C. If you'd like to check, I posted there prior to here. But thought I'd kick it in as more people check this thread with the other. In the time I've been checking this thread, I've seen you bitching about what someone said in the Sears/Target/Kmart Clearance threads 10 times as much as I've seen you with actual helpful information to anyone at all.
 
The Florence, KY Target had 2 Afro Samurai's at $29.98 and 2 F.E.A.R. 2's at $34.98, along with GH3's, all for the :360:. I hope Afro drops next week.
