This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I think they found someone's stash or maybe you missed the last 2 AS because I was there this morning. They were right next to the 20 or so copies of 50 Cent.

They had atleast 3 copies of Prince of Persia in the glass case (bottom shelf on top of a stack of games). So you might want to stop by if you're interested in that. The Target in Manhatan Beach also had about 5-6 copies of PoP at $14.98.

I think they found someone stash. The only games I saw were LOTR, Need for Speed, and 50 cent game. Well try to check back for Prince of Persia.

dang the targets in my area still has 50 cent for 41.98, saints row for 24.98 no afro i did see the star ocean game but that was 24.98 i believe. no more mk vs dc unfortunately. L4D was still 34.98 =(

50 cent was just clearanced so I think it's a little bit too soon to expect a further drop. I think most Targets have plenty of copies of BotS. I'll be surprised if most of us aren't able to pick it up at $14.98.
 
I know 50 Cent is a new clearance item and still expensive, but I just wanted to highly recommend the game. I don't care for 50 Cent or his music, but the game is just pure, ridiculous, over-the-top fun. It plays great and it's actually fun to replay levels.

...if you we're a fan of The Club then you will love 50 Cent: BotS!

Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely buy it but only at $14.98. I am too much of a CAG to buy it at a higher price knowing that I could get it for less.

BTW, I'm also planning on picking up The Club at GS during their B2G1 sale. :D
 
I just found Saints Row 2 yesterday at my local Target in Westborough MA for $12.48. I also picked up Prince of Persia for 14.98 from the same store.

At the Mcknight Rd. Target in Pittsburgh they had L4D for 15$, a bunch of Banjo Kazooie for 20$, 50 cent for 15$(I think), a few afro samurais for 15$ and some GH3 for 20$. Also, last week I saw Prince of Persia for 10$ and wished I didn't buy it for 60$.

I think they mix up the L4Ds because at the Target I went to yesterday they were selling the regular L4D for $37. I asked them for a price check and he said they are selling the regular L4Ds because they probably ran out of the GOTY editions and trying to get rid of the regular ones for that price aswell.
 
Doesn't L4D GOTY contain a DLC that can be downloaded for free anyway? If so, there is no real advantage over getting the regular edition, isn't it?

I did see the GotY clearanced at another Target a couple of weeks ago, but it was still $41.98 at the time, so I didn't bother. More than likely a mistake, because I haven't seen that at any other store (every other store I've been to has had both the old edition clearanced and the GotY at regular/sale price) -- odd, though, because I'd think the clearance would be based on UPC rather than title, and I assume the GotY would have a different UPC, so I don't know how they'd mess it up. That particular store is pretty far out of my way, so I haven't bothered going back to check it again.

Anything else on the clearance shelf was over $40, so I didn't pay much attention to those.

Kush, are you serious about your comparison to the The Club? I have seen it at my local Target as well for $41 so I too will be waiting for the $14.98 price point.:lol:

I agree Mix Master. My Target still has it at $34 and I have considered hiding at the bottom of the clearance items or some other games to see if it will drop further.

Does anyone know if hiding works? I'm not stealing/flipping it. I just thought about strategically placing it in a hard to find place.

I am very serious!!! The gameplay reminds me a lot of The Club, just put into an actual campaign/story mode, rather than the race-type arcade modes of The Club. 50 Cent even has targets you can shoot for bonus points, as well as constant "scenarios" that grant you extra points if you complete them within a specific time limit.

They certainly don't last long at $12.48. :) They had quite a few here yesterday for that price when they dropped and they're gone now.
 
I thought Targets drops were done on Modays or early in the week ...not late in the week like Friday-ish...... was i wrong completely?

The red clearance stickers reflect the price but some Targets don't always update the stickers. It's best to use the DPCI to check the price. You won't find shelf tags since the games are usually thrown on an endcap.

YMMV. It just depends on each store. I have one Target that updates on Thursdays.
 
OK just checked here, both Star ocean and Agent Clank were 29.98.....I was very upset. Left 4 dead went back up to 44.xx while GOTY edition was 37.xx. Nothing else was dropped but confirmed Ratchet and clank future for Ps3 and MK Vs Dc at 14.xx.
Of course no MK vs DC in stock but price is right. Oh I bought the last Dead Rising for wii at 27.xx now its down to 19.xx, if I bring it back will they give me the price diff?

YMMV. They would have to do a return/rebuy on the spot but I don't think that they are supposed to do that. It just depends on the person in customer service. I've been denied before and have had to return the game and wait for it to be put back out.

If you have the time and the Target isn't far away, it's best to return just before they close and rebuy just after they open. Good luck.

So my options are keep it at the higher price or possibly lose it?? I felt it would drop so I didn't open it, I just hope someone can do an echange/rebuy on the spot, since thats the best I've found it. Lucky I only live a couple minutes away from everything!

You should atleast try to see if they will do a return/rebuy on the spot. If not, then those are your only 2 options. Recently, I found myself in this exact same situation with Lego Batman. I bought the last copy at $24.98. Since my job prevented me from returning at closing and rebuying at opening, I just returned it. I ended up buying a copy at Blockbuster for $20 (using store credit) so it worked out for me. The "return/rebuy" method has worked for me in the past but you do run the chance of losing the game. I looked everywhere for the 2nd copy they allegedly had but had no luck. They did have Secret Agent Clank for $10
 
Weird one of my Targets had a price drop today! Smack down and Need for Speed Undercover were only $12.48 each. PLaystation 3 Rock Band 2 was $14.98.

Everything else stayed the same in price.
 
I went again late last night and was amazed to see some drops on a friday... as they have always done it on mondays. Saw MK vs DC for 14.98 and Banjo Kazooie for 9.98. i was sad to see Left 4 Dead was dropped to 12.48 but were all gone.
 
I am going to cry if there are no more Persia. They haven't dropped it yet, but I know the day they do I will miss out on all of them.
 
I always see these postings, but everytime I go to my local target, I never see anything with these clearance prices. are they hidden somewhere, like not in the cases?

There are stacks of it at the Targets around me (However, GoTY is still in the cases here at the universal price; I suspect that was a clearance tagging error as happened to me with Oblivion. The good thing is they will sell it for the stickered price in most cases). I picked up Scene It bundle & Afro Samurai it for $9.

The Targets near me place them on a backwall endcap, so sometimes you have to look for them.
