This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Hmm, they must have found someone's stash in Fair Lakes, VA. Found Need for Speed and Smackdown there. Also, the infamous We Cheer. :)

Everything else was still not marked down.

if anyone in eastern/central PA is still looking for the 50 cent game, harrisburg target (i think it's "harrisburg north" - it's the one in colonial park) still has one copy left at $14.98. i got the next-to-last copy at around 3 this afternoon...

also got motorstorm for $14.98 (50% off).

oh yeah, and they had a bunch of endwar bundles, still $44.98.

"harrisburg east" target (the one off 283) had absolutely NOTHING other than a few copies of PS3 prince of persia for something like $41. easily the worst clearance section i've ever seen in all my target visiting history...

I snagged 2 smackdown vs. raw for $6.xx and Chronicles of Riddick(360) for 12 or 14 can't remember which. Freaking sweet. This target usually has nil

Finally caught a deal, got 3 copies of Left 4 Dead for 12.48, one for me and two for friends. Usually my target never has anything, but these were lurking behind the goty editions in the glass.
Only other things they had were Motorstorm PR for 41, and Chronicles of Riddick for 29
Wow, good karma. O:)

4 weeks after the final price-drop, found the very last copy of Fear 2: Project Origins :360: for $12.48 in my district. Just sitting there on the shelf, in a plastic security container, next to rows of :wii: and :ps3: games. I couldn't believe my luck. :whee:
That's how I found Saints Row 2 for $12.48. Now, whenever I see a clearanced item in a plastic container and sticker inside, I get excited cause there's a chance they won't change the sticker by the time it drops. I'd definately advise checking around for those and scanning them.

Checked my target today out of boredom. Here's what we had

2 Endwars -- Dunno the Price
50 Cent: BotS (PS3) - Dunno the Price
GH:WT Game - 14.97
PoP (PS3) 24.97 (or something very close to that)
Some ~8 PSP games, NBA09 and Dynasty Warriors
Guitar Hero 1 for 13.00

I'd have a price for Endwar and 50 Cent but all the scanners were down and I didn't want to alert an associate to a possible $22 good bluetooth headset.......

Plus I got rather uncomfortable -- it seemed like a couple higher-ups of the store were watching me........I mean, yeah someone carrying a normally $90 game around the store like its nothing is suspicious lol. Thought it was funny.

Um, seriously? Who cares if you're carrying $90 worth of games in your basket. Target has much more expensive items on the shelves to worry about. Not to mention what's the point of posting games you found with prices you don't know/think they're something close to.

But whatever....

Well, I'm just contributing what info I gathered today. I'd wager Endwar is 22.99 since it was 44.99 2 weeks ago. BotS is new on the clearance rack and I've seen no reports of the PS3 version yet..... I'd be curious to know a price should someone else find it. It could just be MSRP since PoP was on the same rack at MSRP 2 weeks ago.

idk, just posting info for the sake of info.

and idk what was up with that hahaha. I didn't have a basket, I was just carrying the item around. Maybe it was because I was taking the shortest route (going between isles and such) instead of just walking around the isles. I don't screw around when I'm in a store. Shortest path everywhere!

Maybe they were thinking I was gonna stash it.

I'm honestly, seriously not trying to sound like a dick, but you seem to overthink things. Who cares? Just shop.

Stores get suspicious when you take out electronics items from the section, especially by hand. If you were speed walking, that could also get them to keep an eye on you until you reach the registers and pay. Honestly though, if you're doing nothing wrong, just be on your way

Yeah haha. I just thought it was funny.

Everytime I'm at that Target something strange happens to me. anyway..sorry I derailed the thread haha.

Anyway. I scanned the thread a bit but didn't see any mention of BotS for PS3 on clearance......guess since its in the clearance rack but probably MSRP theres a chance it could be dropping soon......
I'm honestly, seriously not trying to sound like a dick, but you seem to overthink things. Who cares? Just shop.

Milford, MA Target had about 7 copies of Endwar at 22.XX. I picked up HOTD for 12.XX and Endwar. Figured getting the Headset for $22 wouldn't be too shabby.
Did you see any 50 Cent: BOTS at the Milford Target?
Plus I got rather uncomfortable -- it seemed like a couple higher-ups of the store were watching me........I mean, yeah someone carrying a normally $90 game around the store like its nothing is suspicious lol. Thought it was funny.
lol you should have dropped everything on the floor and bolted for the door screaming "You'll never take me alive!":whee:

Prince of Persia PS3 was $27.98 at the Target I was at last night. I also seem to recall seeing another PS3 game at $41.98 that isn't on the list, but can't remember what it was for the life of me...

Do what i do ask them if they want to carry it for you since they are going to follow you anyway

I keep forgetting to mention, I picked up (PC) Civilization 4 GOTY edition for $4.98 this week. I saw it at another store for the same price as well... (it's $13.98 in the OP) All the boxes looked pretty beat up like someone found a stash in a warehouse somewhere and shipped them out.
New Orleans - Westbank Target

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand 360: $14.98
Endwar w/ headset PS3: $44.98
Prince of Persia 360: $27.98
Man, after seeing Endwar at Sam's for $8.81 a few weeks back I just laugh at how much some stores still want to charge. Don't know about anyone else, but after seeing a game at a low price somewhere at some time I cannot EVER pay more than that after that. Mental thing.

Oh, and the Target on 21st street in Tulsa has about 20 copies of Madden 09 and NCAA 09 for $14.98 in clearance. Also a Ninja Blade for the same price and a couple of Tomb Raiders Evolution for $21. And one last copy of Assault on Dark Athena for 360 for $29.98. All too high still for me, but maybe someone can benefit.

I went to a few Targets in King County over the past couple days and...

West Seattle Target:
PS3 Endwar (with Bluetooth) for $22.48
PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour $14.98
PS3 NCAA Football 09 $14.98
360 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand $14.98
360 Ninja Blade $19.98

Northgate Target:
PS3 NCAA Football 09 $14.98
(Don't even bother with Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, HAWX, Riddick or Battlestations: Pacific, since they're still $41.98, and Ninja Blade here is like $27.88).

Factoria Target:
Clearance titles are still way overpriced (PS3 Endwar with Bluetooth was like $44.88!!!!). Only thing cheap is PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Southcenter Target:
Only PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour is of note.

The Landing Target:
Absolutely nothing. Ninja Blade and Endwar are still the prices I listed above, and a lot of titles in the "clearance" section (it doesn't actually say clearance) are close to full price.

If anyone wants, say, 50 Cent or Endwar, I can grab a couple. They don't seem to be going anywhere.

is it just me or is my target the ones with shitty deals?
Ninja Blade-30
50 cent-41
CoR-41
CMON TARGET GET THE DEALS ROLLING!

If you have more Targets in your area.. check them out. I have 3 within 4-5 miles of each other. One has insane deals, they always have the most recent drops. The second is mediocre at best. And the third.. well, they don't really even have a clearance section (just games you've never heard of at a "discount" ie. 30% off).

i bought two copies of fear 2 today for 12.48 each.. and then the b1g1 50% off promo worked on the clearance items. so i paid 18.75 for both of them.

my local targets are taking damn forever to drop 50cent and riddick to 15 beans the wait is terrible and the copies keep slimmin down

Hmmm, B1G1 works with clearnece you say? Interesting...

Small question regarding Target, anyone here ever deal with a Voided transaction from Target? New cashier double charged me for items, he got flustered when I tried to explain to him and told me to go to Customer service. There they voided the transaction and rang me up again. Anyone know when I'll get my card refunded? Its just frustrating that Target is holding onto my funds, funds that I could be using to buy other various Target clearence items -_-

I'd just like to know why the pricing isn't the same at every Target. Riddick is still $29.98 at mine in Mary Esther, FL. I'm going right when they open tomorrow to see if anything dropped since price drops are supposed to happen on Mondays. And I thought the B1G1 was only on regular priced games not clearance! I might have to figure out a second 360 game to get for half to go along with Riddick... Maybe 50 Cent, haha.

Motorstorm Pacific Rift dropped to $29.98 here. Which is odd, since Ninja Blade and Riddick haven't moved in over a month.

Stopped by the Wolfchase area Target in Memphis, TN today. They finally dropped Riddick and 50 Cent for 360 down to 14.98. I picked up both, and one of them did indeed ring up half price (7.48) as part of the Buy 1 Get 2nd at 50% sale. There were about 5 or 6 copies of each left after I bought mine.

I also remember seeing:

NHL 09 360- 41.98
Guitar Hero World Tour PS3: 14.98
Tom Clancy's HAWX 360- 41.98
Ultimate Band- Wii- 12.48 (huge stack of about 15 copies)

Clearance pricing has never been the same at any target. Also, not every Target follows the "standard" markdown schedule. Supposedly, Monday is the day they mark down everything in the electronics section. My suggestion is that if you get there first thing, nothing is marked down yet - the workers seem to do it some time in the morning, but it's not like midnight hits and everything goes to the next discount level. The workers actually have to go through everything scanning each clearance item, deciding if they'll mark it down some more, update the system, then re-tag each item.

The best is when you get they're and they're there doing it as you're watching. Being polite, you can ask them if they're going to mark down xxx item you found.

I never knew about Monday markdowns until I read it on this board. So one time I was at Target on a Monday and noticed the abundance of employees all over and what they were doing. Of course, I had also been at a Target where the prices were the same on a Tuesday but a couple days later they were lowered.
Hmmmm same with me, I used to always stop in at the Tri County Target when I'd make Best Buy runs but now with the BB at Stone Creek I rarely get out there when I'm deal hunting. Maybe I'm just unlucky at Colerain, or lookin in the wrong spot. Do they have a special clearance section or just whatever is in the glass case? I know they got some older games in an aisle in the very back corner as well.
Yeah, generally in any Target their clearance items are most always on endcaps that face the back wall. So their games are always in the very corner of the electronics section, but it's usually pretty small. You can sometimes find clearance in the glass cases or in regular aisles. Of course glass cases usually have very few clearance items, and clearance in regular aisles is usually marked with the little half-circle tags sticking out from the shelf, so you can usually scan down the lane as you walk by. Best bet is to stick to the outside wall of the store and do a lap that way. They you hit the two aisles that are in the very center of the store, but that's usually the homewares, small appliances, kitchen, etc. But, sometimes you find misplaced or stashed items. I usually just pop interesting things into my cart, then scan all of them at a station if they're 15,30,50% just on the off chance it went down but didn't get tagged properly. If the scanner says not found in system, then you have to find an employee to scan it and see what the last price was. So if the last copy sold was only at 50% off, then that's the only price they'll give you even if every other Target in the country was selling it for 75% off.

Actually, each department is a different day. Go over to fatwallet and look at their Target clearance thread for the scedule. My guess is that when things don't get marked down each week, then either the system tells them it's not ready to drop, or the employees didn't do any markdowns that week. I guess in your case maybe they missed it on the "right" day and caught up a few days later.

The Targets in Phoenix, AZ seem to mark down every Monday, but the price of a game stays the same for two weeks. So here is how it works out (price guesstimates):

Fear 2
Week 1 - $40
Week 2 - no drop
Week 3 - $30
Week 4 - no drop
Week 5 - $25
Week 6 - no drop
Week 7 - $20
Week 8 - no drop
Week 9 - $15
etc.

Here is my other observation, and I thought about writing a long blog post about it. I have been hitting a lot of different Targets lately in Arizona. I packed up my kids and we took a 3000 mile trip and I hit Targets and other typical clearances while we were on the trip.

My observation on price and availability is that the higher the income is for an area, the less likely the game will ever get under $30. These areas seem to have the income to spend on games as soon as they start to drop.

I went to a neighborhood where I grew up and it has become a low income area now. There were tons of games under $20 and it really helped my collection. These areas seem to require more of a bargain, if they have the money to spend as it is.

I took this theory on the road and it held pretty true.

Anyway, I'm sure I can throw a bar graph in there somewhere, but you get the idea. I hope this helps some CAGers.

I do find it weird that two Targets nearest me don't do price drops at the same time. I bought the Endwar bundle at one a week ago for $22.xx, and saw 3 at the other today and they scanned at $44.xx.
Picked up two copies of BOTS for 14.98 from a different store this morning and the b1g1 50% worked on them also..
Wow really? My Target said that B1G1 50% off sale only worked with $60 games.
