This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I picked up Iron Man (xbox360) today at a local Target for $9.98. Not much of a deal, I know. But I was tired of coming away empty handed.

I have the sequel... picked up the original couple days ago... i you like that type of racing game then its definitely worth it... if you bought it just cause it was a good deal as I think I might be doing with fear2... then maybe not =] contemplating the same with fear2 here I do like FPS i just have waaayyy too many backlogged already

iirc, there were several left at the Chapel Hill, OH target. They had added a crapload of PS3 games yesterday. Mostly greatest hits, but some non-GH.

Also, Battlestations Pacific is $25 cash at FYE, so that's ~$9 profit after tax for a flip.

Finally, if anyone can find a copy of the EndWar bundle for $11.xx, then I'd be interested in the headset for my cell phone. (ignore the title, that issue has been resolved, shrike just hasn't gotten around to removing it yet)
 
For those that are wondering about the actual day for price drops, I talked with a couple of local Targets and they told me that the adjustments are done in the late morning, or around lunch time on Mondays because the price updates happen on Monday mornings in the system. They said they wait to update the tags because they want to make sure that all of the prices come across the system before they get started. Hope that helps anyone. I'm assuming that the Targets that have been doing the price adjustments on other days are because they're lazy?
 
Employee at the Target in Gurnee IL a few weeks back said for electronics most the game reprices come early on Monday, but that it wasnt unusual to find price changes throughout the week. Told me to just grab a few games I want and check the scanner.
 
needed change for laundry so stopped by the local t where i had bsp and ff on "layaway." imagine my shock when it jumped from 30 to 75% in one week. the strangeness....

Got it for 1998 total was about 22 dollars or so with tax included. That was about 2 weeks ago, so it might have gone down recently havent been to target since.

Picked up the last copy of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift at Streetsboro, OH store for 14.98. They also had 3 copies of FEAR 2 (PS3) for 12.48.

The Medina, OH store had 14 copies of Dead Space for 14.98 as of yesterday evening.

As of around 2PM today the 3 copies of FEAR 2 PS3 were still there.
 
Snagged Project Gotham Racing 4 and Need for Speed ProStreet for 13.98 each for the Xbox360. No idea if they are any good, just need to add a few less violent games to the library :) I think Dead Space was also 13.98.

I've been checking this on and off at my Target since it was first posted, they still have some in stock (which is shocking because they never seem to have any of the games in stock that are getting dropped) but they are still $29.99. I checked another Target over the weekend, also $29.99. I'm still watching them whenever I go to Target but I feel pretty confident that they will either be gone before they drop or they will drop and I will not be there when it happens and they get snatched before I go.
 
Has anyone seen PS3 copies of Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires on clearance? Mine only has a couple 360 copies.

the official ps3 headset (from endwar and socom bundles) is newer and supposed to be significantly better than the older warhawk one.
 
Warhawk headset is a bargain bin type headset.
If you didn't like the much superior official one, you'll hate that one. No mute, no onscreen display, and worse sound quality.

It's listed as $7.48 in the first post. I'd rather pay $7.48 then 15. I tried that ASIN stock trick and according to it they are in stock at the 2 targets over here. I'll need to check on that. Not too much stuff being clearanced for wii right now.

and I also want some of those purple mountain dew packs, $2.75 right? :)

Scored Battlestations: Pacific for $15! It was a miracle because it was a lone copy at a Target I usually skip because they are: anti-360 and heavy traffic not allowing much of anything to go below $30 or $35. I haven't even seen this game in stock for a long time.

Still waiting for Wrestling Legends to drop to $15 from $30 at the other Target (didn't have time to check today).

My Target is terrible, I cannot find Prince of Persia, Motorstorm PR, Scene It Box Office Hits, etc. there. They recently changed the way they display their games, since doing that they have had a fraction of the games they used to have and I've never seen Lost Planet there either, so I'm not sure what it is pricing at. .

On a side note, I did get Lost Planet from F.Y.E. for PS3 and don't really like it, but then again, it really isn't my style of game, I'm thinking I may get rid of it.

Er, what? Patapon and Patapon 2 should be $19.99 at 100%. Did you maybe mean Patapon 2 at 50% off, or $10?

Also, Monsters vs Aliens here is on clearance for $35.
 
Does anyone remember the Target clearance schedule for stuff besides games? I've been watching a swiss army thing and a few items in the exercise area.
 
For anyone in Austin Texas:

The Target on 121 Louis Henna Boulevard in Round Rock had 4 copies of Motorstorm for $7.98 and 5 copies of Dead Space PS3 for $20.99 as of about an hour ago.

Can't find Motorstorm: Pacific Rift anywhere, though.
 
Lucked up and got the last copy of Motorstorm Pacific Rift for $14.98 today. I picked up the SOCOM bundle as well, but it was $29.98. Can anyone comment on the headset?

Seriously the best headset to use. Long battery life and feels like it isn't on your ear. Where did you pick it up for $29.98? I almost bit the bullet at $41.98, but still feel its still too much.
 
Thanks again CAG! I decided to stop by Target tonight and found 2 copies of Motorstorm PR for $14.98 for myself and my brother-in-law who's buying a slim in September.

At this target they keep a separate shelf of clearance games in the movie section apart from the normal video game area. I also saw several PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour game/Guitar combos for $48.

Not really on clearance, but is Half Life: Orange Box worth picking up? Just wanted to get some opinions. I saw this game when I picked up Wheelman for $19.
 
Was at a Target in Austin, TX and Saw 15 copies of Xbox360 Star Wars the Force Unleashed for 14.9x, marked down from 30. Weird seeing them since they weren't there last week at a higher price. Also saw, 360 -wheelman 27.xx, bionic commando 29.xx, ncaa basketball 09 41.xx, and some ice age game for 20 something
 
Got GH: World Tour :360: for $44.xx in Harmarville, PA outside Pittsburgh. Came with 1 wireless guitar. Pretty fun game so far. . .

If you haven't played it, yes. Plus I just picked it up on clearance last week (only 30% off, originally 19.99). How many games get a metacritic score of 96?
 
Don't know why some of the clearance prices are higher at my local Target? Spotted a copy of Dead Space (PS3) today but it was $20.98 instead of the $14.98 everyone else spotted it. Would have snagged it if it was the lower price. Fear 2 was still behind the glass at $59.99 here. Wonder if I should have them scan the price on it to see if it's $12.98 reported at other stores?
