This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
I don't think Sep. is going to be all that great for Sears drops; there seem to be very few games in the 14.97/9.97 range that are ready to drop to $5...I mean, PS3 Fantastic Four and Brothers in Arms, eesh. Hopefully there will be a fresh clearance wave starting, with new $24.97 and $19.97 games.
What's weird is that I never found any of these games at my Sear's prior to them dropping to $5 for the PS3 and 360 games and $2 for the DS games. I'm not sure if they had them in the back all the times I was there or not. They seem to either have games at or close to full price, or around the $5 to $10 range (for PS3 and 360) nothing much in between.

This was my first experience with the Sear's price drops, I wasn't really aware of how they handled them, so it was exciting to see and actually find most of the games at the low price, which isn't very common for me. I was hoping to get the same experience again, but actually get the games this time

If I don't find anything, I won't be too upset (it won't be the first time) and I won't make a special trip over there just to find cheap games, but, if I do find some good deals it will be means for :bouncy: At the very least they may drop the Eye of Judgement kit. They only had one since the beginning of August and it is still there, but I'm pretty sure one of the full price cameras has disappeared (they are locked in, so I'm thinking that it wasn't stolen) I normally don't buy these camera things, but if it is cheap enough I may get one, I think some trophies require it and if I get all but a handful of trophies because I don't have the "Eye" I wouldn't be a happy gamer, since I tend to be a completionist, I would probably be one of the crazy people to buy it at full price  But then, I will probably never get all the trophies in a game anyway, so I don't have to worry too much :D

Thanks for the reply. At least now I know not to get too excited until I see what they have, always helpful when dealing with cheap games!
I did find my dad an LED hand crank flashlight a few aisles up in another clearance end for $3.48. The light on it was surprisingly bright. They had another but the switch or something was screwy in it (the LED lit up when cranked but was blinking so chances are it was the power switch stuck in or something). He kept complaining about Target's prices when we'd go, but he finally caught on to the clearance racks hidden in the back end of aisles.
I'm not sure if you checked this or not, but you may want to check next time you go back if the flashlight was set to blink. I have several of these type lights and they usually work where you press once and you get a solid light and twice gets you a blinking light (for emergencies and such) I'm not sure if you are aware of that or not, or if that model even has that built in, but it could have been the problem.

Like I said, I have several of these and a friend borrowed one for some reason once. When I talked to him over a week later he informed me that he tossed my flashlight out because the light was going bad, I asked him what he meant and he said it started flashing when he was using it. I then proceeded to tell him that it flashes when you light it up the second time, he acted all confused and he's like "oh, sorry, didn't know." I don't see why someone would throw a light away because it flashed one time he used it, I think it is pretty standard to try it a few times, hit it, etc. and then usually keep it for several years anyway :D but he decided it was done for and tossed it.
Yes, you do have to send a text message. The little 300 point sticker has an 8-digit code that you text and they text you back with the real Xbox Live code. I tried using Google Voice to send the text first, but it doesn't work. Looks like you have to use a real cell phone. Their may be a texting service out there that could pull it off.

According to the sticker, you have to redeem the AXE code by the end of September and the Xbox Live code by the end of October.
Thanks, I will probably just skip it then. I doubt I will splurge on the wireless adapter by then anyway, so they would probably just expire.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

The only thing in stock and decently marked in my city is Bionic Commando at $14.99.
smart move. i bought one and was waiting on several stores. but they all sold out before it went below $30.
The Target by me has 2 left. The boxes are crushed. I guess I should pick one up while they are still there.

hey guys, quick question. I saw madworld at target, but it was $20.98. Is it that they just didn't update the sticker? Or will it ring up as 20.98? From what i've read in this thread it's supposed to be 9.98.

Take it to an in-store scanner - usually at the end of aisles - and check the price. Target clearance prices will vary from store to store.

Target in Alpharetta had 11 Socoms, I live 30 secs from there and usually check everyday. However I missed ONE day and the price dropped to 14.98. Associate said 10 grabbed by a dude, my buddy stumbled upon the last one. So I went to another Target, bought it for 30, then went to my Target and they returned resold. Some of those Customer Service people can give you a hard time though....

yeah me too.. then we can play Beatles Guitar Hero!! :D

Checked out Target and picked up :360: Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Bundle for 44.xx. It was the last one and maybe it will go on sale in the next week or two (they said they do price adjustments if it is within 14 days of purchasing the product). Most of the games were gone from the last time I was there (two different displays of deals now turned into one). I am glad I picked up Socom and Riddick when I did. One interesting thing I saw was one of the Fallout 3 expansion (I think Broken Steel and Point Outlook pack): it was on sale for 13.xx. Would of picked it up, but just sold my Fallout 3 to get the money to buy Fallout 3: GOTY edition.

Thanks again for the post.

Hey, I go to that target about once a week. They were just putting those bundles out today. I didnt have any paper on me, but in the future I plan on getting all the clearance prices. I know that some of the other games there but cant remember what right now.

Add FEAR 2 for PC and Cryostasis for PC to the clearance list.

FEAR2 @19.xx and Cryostasis @ 14.xx

Saw both at the Niles, OH (Eastwood Mall) Target tonight, along with two copies of Section 8 for 360 leaning against the display console inside the 360 glass case.

Picked up Star Wars, the force unleashed for the 360 at $7.80 in Wexford/McCandless PA. I was surprised to see it for so low, since it was 30$ not that long ago and I didn't see it drop to $15. I was waiting for it to drop to $12, so $8 was great. There were at least 30 copies on the shelf.

My bad, SW Force Unleashed is $7.48, not $7.84
UPC 207-22-0267
Under the sticker I can see a $14.96, so that's two price drops after the current listing on page 1.

Man, I just passed by SWTFU 360 in the case at my Target yesterday. Probably make a trip on Mon or Tue to see if 7.xx is avaliable in my area.

Ours were at the usual clearance area. Initially I looked and didn't see crap, just some DS games and an overpriced MadWorld, and then Bingo!

I actually bought this game at release with the gift card but sold it, decided it wasn't worth 50$ for a single play. At $8 though.... definitely game. I love how if you wait long enough with a non-multiplayer game, you can always eventually get it on the cheap. Too bad ODST is coming out and I won't have time to play this much.

Saturday picked up a double wireless guitar hero world tour pack for 360 $22.48 @ woodbridge, va location. they had s ton of extras and I'm thinking it's possible they may drop again tomorrow. who knows $13.47 would be nice

Wanted to confirm that Dead Space in Boynton Beach, FL was on the clearance rack for 14.98. Picked it up. Definitely worth it for that price.

You stay away from my stores!! Btw, did you happen to see or check out if the Socom bundle dropped to $15? The Target of Lake Worth Rd had it down to 30 the day it was reported that low here, so I'm hoping it dropped again for a price match.

My targets are still on last drop:
Dead Space = $14.98
Socom bundle = $29.98

I really want a copy of Dead space for my PS3 for $7.98 so i hid a copy somewhere xD. If Socom bundle still around when it hit $14.98 I'll pick one up as well.

Amazon.com has it for $10 today. If you don't mind waiting you can save yourself a trip.
Target in Pinellas Park, FL have Wheelman for $15 Iron Man for $5 and Ninja Blade for $10!
Mind picking me up a copy of Ninja Blade? I'll pay cost, shipping, and tax.

like $14 paypal

Found Guitar Hero World Tour + Guitar for $22.50 (PS3). Already had it for Wii, but PS3 version has better sound, downloadable songs. Looking for the PS2 version for my dad...still $44 at the only Target I've seen it at. Now I just need to find a clearance deal on the whole band kit at some point, so I'll have the drums. The Rock Band drums don't work with this game, right?
I would also take a copy of Ninja Blade for cost, shipping, tax if you don't mind. Let me know.
Count me in for one as well. Thanks!

Like, you should know better than to beg in the thread...just pm the member ...

and "electric"/"cheeky" ...tisk tisk the op didn't even offer :roll:

All of you folks begging for something delivered for cost + shipping need to be more realistic than $14.

$10 (game)
$.70 (tax estimate)
$.80 (delivery confirmation - never pass on this, no matter what feedback they have)
$.50 (bubble mailer, could be as much as $1)
$3-$4 (shipping USPS 1st class)

If you guys want someone to take their time and effort to ship something to you, at least offer them enough to cover their costs.

Agreed. Be realistic.

I would definitely say closer to $1 (possibly even as much as $1.50 -- I seem to remember the last one I bought being something like $1.37) for the bubble mailer -- you can find them at $0.50 sometimes, but they're not that cheap everywhere. If I'm already going out of my way and doing someone a favor by mailing them a game at cost, I'm not going to go even further out of my way and run all over the country looking for the best deal on mailing supplies. There are limits.

Shipping can be lowered a bit (to $2-$3) by using Media Mail, but keep in mind that it will likely take longer to get to you, and might not get handled as carefully.

Finally, if you're sending money through PayPal, remember that depending on how you pay, there could be fees which will be deducted from what the person you're sending it to receives. If you send it as a payment for a purchase, it's 2.9% + $0.30. You can avoid the fees by sending the money as a "gift" (as long as it's from a bank account -- if you use a credit card, the same fee applies). If you do send the money in a way that involves fees, do NOT just expect the person who's doing you a favor to eat that cost.

The Rock Band drums do work with Guitar Hero World Tour. I use my Rock Band 1 (wired) drums when I play.

Do you have the slim?

I have

Nyko Frontman Wireless (free)
guitar from $22 GH:WT bundle
RB1 drum set ($3)

None of them worked with guitar hero WT on the PS3 slim. could just be user error but I kept getting the "you must have two controllers to play in band mode"

Exactly!!

Then you have to factor in gas, time to pick up the game, and the shipping effort and maybe even a trip to the Post Office.

Also, you didn't even address PayPal fees which are .88 for a $20 payment.

This stuff all adds up pretty quickly
I would settle for Socom at 30 if I could just find the damn thing, Maryland Targets were wiped out.
Target near me has a ton of SOCOM sets at $30. I'm going back tomorrow to see if they'll drop to $15, as the store near me does their clearance markdowns on Tuesdays. I'm willing to pick one up for ya if you need it. PM me, or shoot me an email: theamazingxemo*at*gmail.com

I apologize; I was referring to the Xbox 360 version Guitar Hero World Tour. I do have a PS3; however, I do not have a slim. If I do pick up Guitar Hero World Tour for the PS3 I will see if the Guitar works.

Oh I can verify that the wired RB drum set works with the 360 version of GHWT as well.

My Target had 4 GH:WT guitar bundles at $22.48. They also had GH:WT for the PS2 at $7.48 and the PS2 guitar bundles at $19.98. I was really fucking tempted to jump on one of those, but I decided I'd wait for the full band set to drop in price instead.

Socom for $15-$20 sounds like a solid deal, but if you think about it you waste so much gas trying to find a cheap copy you end up paying more then retail
