This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
No it isn't, it's been marked down from $29.99, so $14.98 is only 50% off. It will hit $7.48.
Thats the thing - the sticker says $30 but it was $60 originally (think it hit that $30 around BF last year?). You would think by now somebody would have reported it below $10 if it was dropping like normal. It still might - but even at $15 its a deal.

I picked up Guitar Hero World Tour (Guitar and Game Bundle) at Target a couple of days ago for the Xbox 360 for $44.xx (it was the last one). Now I am debating on returning it and then buying the entire bundle at TRU for $70. What do you guys think? Do you think I should hold onto the GHWT Guitar/Game Bundle to wait and see if it goes on sale for $22.xx?

Also, does any have the DPCI number for Mass Effect? I was really hoping I could get it for $13.xx, as listed in first post.

Thanks again.

The msrp dropped to $30. So, the clearance discount is taken off that price. The game didn't go on clearance as soon as the msrp dropped.
People actually trade with you?
Ok, what the hell? Is everyone against me on here? If someone wants me to buy something for them, I'll do the nice thing and get the game they want and charge them exact amount. It's not like i loss a HUGE amount by using my bubble mailer and gas.

And to whoever posted it, i ship my games in bubble mailers. It's like $2.50 for a 5 pack. OK, big deal! i spent .50 cents on a mailer and i expect the buyer to pay me for that? no...

As long as i get the actual cost plus shipping, im fine to give someone something.

y'all are greedy assholes on here if you want every penny out of what you trade someone.

Not going to dig around this thread to see if this has been posted, but I saw the Tomb Raider Anniversary (Xbox 360) game for $9.98 on August 30th in Richmond,VA. The price from this thread is listing $13.98, so I figured I would post that update.

in austin, tx went to a couple of stores, saw for xbox 360
iron man 9.xx
dynasty warriors 6? 34.xx
some harry potter game 34.xx
terminator salvation 41.xx
rock band 2 24.xx
ncaa basketball 09 14.xx
star wars force unleashed 7.9x. this one has a yellow spine where the ones at every other target have a dark background.

Also saw the western digital my book 500gb for 49.xx and 1tb for 99.xx.

Hit up a Target I don't frequent and found a ton of :ps3:NBA Live 09 for 27.xx(?) :ps3:GH:Metallica for 41.xx and :ps3:Fallout 3 for 41.xx. In that mess, I came across and picked up Shaun White snowboarding for 9.xx. Have no clue how good the game is, but I thought it should be worth $10.

that's exactly when i'll pick up a copy xD. How long until that happen?

Picked up a Socom w/headset for $29.98. It was the last copy and I doubt that it would survive another drop. Plus going back and forth to check would neglect the savings due to petrol cost. I figure that I can get a $20 for the copy of Socom since it is individually sealed.

This is true but not because they dont want to lose money doing someone a favor . If anything the buyer should want to pay a little more because he is paying way less then normal MSRP .

We shouldent be cheapasses to each other but unfortunately some people are just low .

Found nothing (as in, nothing at 75% off) at the Target at the Crossroads around 1:30pm-ish. Stopped by the Gamestop however and picked up some PS2 gems for only $4 a piece.

Going to stop by the District Target after I help my girlfriend move in. Hope the hoarders didn't rape the place up.
You can ship 1 pound across the country using media mail and it'll cost you $2.38. Go order a bunch of media mail dvd sized boxes for FREE from USPS.com and now you have cheap shipping.
Who the fuck uses media mail for this stuff. And for most games, which is like 5 or 6 ounces, it's actually cheaper to send it first class mail.

But even if it's cheaper, the minimum for any game is 5 ounces. I've yet to find a game + bubble mailer that weighs less than 5 ounces.

5 ounces costs you $2.09 via paypal. That's including DC. Because I don't want some jackass trying to save 19 cents and then claiming they didn't get it.

So basically you have to add $2.50 for shipping + bubble mailer (and that's a bare minimum, some people pay more for their mailers because they just grab it at the post office.) Then 7-10% for tax. Then add in another dollar or so for paypal fees.

y'all are greedy assholes on here if you want every penny out of what you trade someone.
You are a huge dumbass. And please don't ever trade with me.

What people are objecting to is the people who say "oh, it's marked down to $14.98 at Target?" I'll give you $16 shipped for it! (I suspect these are the same people who when dividing up a dinner check, conveniently forget tax and tip...)

People doing YOU a favor shouldn't have to take a loss. I won't even charge "gas money" because it's not like I go out of my way to Target. I'll just pick up an extra copy if I figure some CAG will want it. But if I'm sending you something (that I can MAKE $5 on ebay if I really wanted to), why should I take a loss? It's not like Target doesn't take returns.

Luckily most people I trade with are like "no problem, here's $xxx" to cover it. Because they aren't assholes.

scored a NCAA 09 Football game for x360 for $7.48 (down from $29.99)

My apologies if this has already been posted here...

Tonight I picked up NCAA Basketball 09 for the 360 for $14.98 and was pleased to find that the register triggered a $10.00 gift card upon ringing. It seems there is a promotion this week that gives you a $10 gift card with purchase of any EA sports title for 360/PS3 (only!) - the ad says it excludes clearance games, but the cashier and register didn't seem to mind hooking me up with a tenner to use on, you guessed it, another copy of the same game. This is YMMV of course, but if anyone has luck with this post a shout here so we know how rare this event might be.
I picked up Guitar Hero World Tour (Guitar and Game Bundle) at Target a couple of days ago for the Xbox 360 for $44.xx (it was the last one). Do you think I should hold onto the GHWT Guitar/Game Bundle to wait and see if it goes on sale for $22.xx?

Also, does any have the DPCI number for Mass Effect? I was really hoping I could get it for $13.xx, as listed in first post.

Thanks again.
How do you get the Guitar Hero WT entire bundle for $70? Did I miss a TRU posting on a sale? Website has it listed at $119.

Dude , not everyone has the luxury of living at home and not paying bills . You have to realize that many members here have families and bills out the ass . I would suggest that you empathize a little more with your fellow CAGS and see that most aren’t trying to get rich off of helping each other out every once and a while . Some people hook it up so much that a $1 or $.50 hit every time adds up after a while . I think you would serve yourself better conceding on this one .
Im sure all of us agree that trying to rip people off by doing them a favor is not really a favor.

Depends on where you go. I normally go to three Targets, and they can all be hit or miss at times. I have to say the worst is probably the Manchester one though. It might be better if I could visit it more often, but usually I see things priced way high, and when I come back they are gone.

I did find Madworld there for 14.98 a week or two ago however :D

No one I've ever gotten stuff for had ever been upset when I ask for $1-$3 on top of costs for my troubles. It's not unreasonable, especially when I'd spend that much on gas going to Target and the post office, and ask nothing in return for the extra time spent.

I make more than that, but guess what, like most people, on top of car insurance and phone bills, I have to pay rent, car payments, cable, internet, food, gas, electricity, etc, etc, and if I'm going out of my way to basically ask for the cost without profit, what's greedy at all about that? I basically volunteered my time for someone I don't know. And if it saves me an hour not hunting down a cheap bubble mailer at 25 cents versus paying $1 at Target, where I would be at anyways while buying your game, why should you whine? If you want me to use a cheap bubble mailer, want to mail me one, and I'll mail your game back in it? That'll end up costing you more than if I pay $1 for a bubble mailer at Target.

I wasn't going to comment, but I really can't figure out how jcp42877 can't see that people aren't ripping you off by charging what it costs, and there's little incentive to lose time and money for a stranger. And you don't want DC? Give me a break. If it's lost for any reason, are you going to dispute it? Yes? Then you're paying for DC, like it or not. Because like it or not, sellers will have zero protection from fraud / lost mail without DC, when it costs $0.19 online. Having only to pay $0.19 to make sure I don't lose rating and $20+ is pretty cheap insurance.

Went to two Targets today, saw FF:EoT on Wii for $20 (was $27.xx last week), 2 copies of Mad World for $15 each, 3 copies of Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce for $10 (they weren't there last week when I picked up the last copy, so I'm guessing someone returned them after they found out they're near worthless), and Patapon 2 finally dropped to $10 here. Wheelman dropped to $20. Nothing else worth mentioning.

YMMV.

Some stores clear out older product before others, so you can't expect to price match another store who has it on clearance or expect it to be on clearance at your local Target.

Like, for example, or store is clearing out NCAA 09s because no one will probably buy it, considering 10 is out. It all depends on how many they have on hand, etc.

came from target earlier today in SoCal and GH:WT :ps3: is on clearance.....for 62.XX :bomb:

My target had the ps3 GHWT bundle, and I wanted the ps3 version, trouble is I cant seem to find the one with 2 guitars. Theres PLENTY of 360 2 guitar bundles, but no ps3. Is anyone having any luck finding the ps3 2 guitar bundle?

I use media mail all the time, rates fluctuate constantly and depending on the distance the package has to travel the rate goes up. you wont send a package from california to new york for $2.09 unless its a normal sized letter. its also very easy to check those rates on usps.com.

As for the bubble mailer, you're on cag, that fact alone means you should already have an idea of what methods can save on shipping for all parties involved, not just cause you're doing someone else a favor, but because that favor may be returned some day. I'm sure 98% of the users on this site go past a major retail chain at least once a week, if they arent already shopping there. you can easily pick up small boxes(which protect the item better than a low quality pos bubble mailer thats easily crushed by the usps machining equipment). throw in crumpled news paper or any kind of paper and the item is very well protected, and since boxed wont go through the machine. Incase you were unaware....
blockbuster, hollywood, movie gallery, walmart, **TARGET**, kmart, all grocery stores, and just about any retail store you walk into, throw away hundreds of cardboard boxes nearly every day. No employee will ever say 'no, you cant have that empty box' because you're saving him from doing more work, and it doesnt cost the company a cent, saves them from having to pay to ship back that cardboard at the end of the month for recycling. many times you will be able to easily find a few empty boxes on the floor, and if not, can easily ask any employee entering or exiting the stockroom if there happens to be any small boxes that havent gone to the compactor yet.

The basic fact is you should treat other cags how you want to be treated, if a cag asks for a specific type of mailing to be used how hard is it to slap a media mail label on it from paypal and tell them "it costs 2.50 extra for the shipping", i really doubt anyone here, even mr 13.60/hr, would tell you no. And yes, some of us have financial difficulties that make it hard for us to get all the gaming needs satisfied, so having to pay that extra dollar because you were too lazy to grab a couple boxes when you're out at the store getting milk & bread for the week isnt very desirable either.

If its too much of a hassle for you to try and save us some money when some of us are doing our best to save you some money, then dont bother to help out, you're not doing us any favors by failing to consider the reason most of us are here.

Anyone in Northeast IL seen the Tomb Raider Anniversary on 360 clearanced? I'd like to find a copy if its out there.

I highly doubt most of the people on CAG will return the favor, and I don't see why paying an extra $1 or $2 to help the person out will matter. If something is on clearance for 14.98, after tax, gas, shipping, paypal fees, shipping materials, you have to factor all of that in. Or you could go pay much higher ebay prices, where people aren't trying to do you a favor. So think about that
Picked up a Socom w/headset for $29.98. It was the last copy and I doubt that it would survive another drop. I mean, if I want a game at Target, then get it next time YOU'RE at Target to look for clearance games or to get whatever you need. Don't just rush out and pick up a game just for me. And I'd expect them to ship my game whenever they are at the post office shipping other stuff out.

Basically, thanks for doing me the favor, but don't go out of the way to carry out that favor for me just to say "Pay up chump!"

No, it's $5 now, and Target is matching TRU's offer of a free ice cream sandwich with any purchase. Make sure to ask for your free ice cream sandwich because the cashiers never know about these type of deals.

Had to run to Target just now to get some things, and noticed that all the school supplies have gone on sale (this might have happened yesterday), and also saw that 500GB/1TB Western Digital MyBook External Hard Drives are now clearanced. I think 1TBs were $100, which is basically the same price you'd get on Amazon, but the 500GBs were $50, which is roughly thirty bucks lower than anything I've found on the web.

So heads up on those things.

Yeah, I'm hoping that the 1TB drives survive for at least one more drop so that they're actually a deal instead of "on sale at Best Buy this week" priced, but I'm not optimistic. When I was looking at clearance games last night some woman came running up to the shelf and nearly pushed me out of her way to grab one (fortunately, I saw her coming and was able to side-step her), and then ran off with it clutching it like someone was going to try to snatch it from her. Unbelievable.
