This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Well since you can afford it, you don't even have to worry about it because you can just buy these games at full price and never miss out on them

I mean honestly, isn't every CAG here some degree of greedy? I personally don't hide anything, but hell, if someone gets their before me, and thinks it'll work, first comes, first serve. What am I going to do to stop him? Plus, you don't see people taking 8 copies of Dead Space and hidding all of them. It's people who set one aside for themselves, to play, so a truly greedy hoarder doesn't buy them just to earn 20 bucks profit.

I hope now we can just get back to discussing Target Clearence Games....

From the store's perspective, hiding is the same as shoplifting. You are stealing the store's opportunity to sell their merchandise for the most they can get for it from someone who actually wants it at a higher price. That's why they aggressively send employees around to look for stashes. I know lecturing people on here won't help, but I would hope that people would be smart enough not to defend hiding and at least recognize that what they are doing is the same as theft.

Loss Management watches for hiders. The same technique is used by shoplifters, since areas like home lighting, automotive, and sports are usually way less populated then electronics/media. Shoplifters like to take DVDs, games, and music to these parts of the store, stash them, and then a partner comes in sometime later to steal it from the hiding place.

So don't think that loss management can't see you hiding that copy of peggle behind the doggie toys. The reason they leave it there sometimes is because they are waiting for your partner to come back and shoplift it.

The most fun of working retail when I was a kid was busting stupid thievesm :)

I wouldn't hide stuff because I think the whole premise is dumb, but one thing I always figured is that surely security is watching.
Target in Bay Pkwy Brooklyn, NY had tons of Wanted (apparently no one wants them...), HAWX, and Madden 09.
there is no target at bayparkway brooklyn. its only bestbuy, TRU, kohls and stuff. maybe u mean target at gateway or atlantic.

Hiding stuff is LAME!

I like getting great deals as much as the next guy, however I am not willing to hide stuff to do so. I missed out on several games that I really wanted because the price never dropped down enough. Oh well, life goes on and I have enough good games at great prices to keep me happy.

I have noticed that my Target that would drop prices from 30% to 75% now instead hits 50% off first before going to 75% off on some games. Sucks but I can see why they started doing it.

Went to two Targets today. The one in Menlo Park had a decent number of games marked down. Sold out of the Guitar Hero: WT bundle for Xbox though. They did have the game only in the clearance endcap. Cant remember if it was 7.48 or 14.98.

Store in South Plainfield had 2 Xbox GH:WT bundles at $44.xx. Nothing else of interest.

SWTFU and Tomb Raider Anniversary 360 are both ringing up full at my local Target, while other games are coming up with clearance prices. I have a feeling that this Target just leaves these games at regular at the discretion of the manger or something....

Target Rego Park NYC had these as well but when I scanned them price was 29.99 each :(

My Target has been completely empty of PS3 games basically, well they got Monsters vs. Aliens (not to offend any1 that bought it and liked it). Mainly a bunch of DS and PS2 games, that seem to be 'meh'. But for any1 that doesn't know if you should grab Deadspace for ~$7-15 I suggest you do, one of my favorite games of last/this year.

Found PS3 Chronicles of Riddick $9.98 and 50 Cent Blood and Sand $12.48 at Target in Tomball, TX. These games were around $30 for the longest time.

Just got back from Target, nothing good to report. My store finally put Dead Space :ps3: in clearance. They dropped it from full price to $14.98 in a matter of a couple days, didn't get it, tried the demo, didn't like it, but thought it was interesting how they handled it.

Returned two copies of Conduit, maybe I will get lucky and they will lower the price in the next couple of days and I can get it cheaper, either way probably made someone pretty happy since they didn't last long at that price.

Other than that everything was the same at my store, still no NPC drops, Drawn to Life still $19.99 (unfortunately one sold too :( hope I can get my hands on it before they are all gone) Peggle still $19.99, etc.

Forgot to mention I also saw Street Fighter IV for Xbox 360 in the glass case for about $28 cant remember price. Had a red stick though. PS3 version was not marked.

managed last copy of UP for 9.98 @ daytona beach target (i rarely go there but felt i needed to stop by). Also picked up tomb raider anniversary for 4.98.

DW6 is 29.98. No more at that target, will report on the port orange one on Monday.

edit: these are for the x360

I hope all hiders get anally raped.

I thought there was a ban on hiding talk? I realize douchebags do it but do we really have to listen to them talk about it?

Hearing them talk about hiding is just as bad as hearing others complain about it.

Let's all just move along.
Wow. Streetsboro Target is pretty cleaned out. Thank you Kent State kids.
I was disappointed in it also.

I stopped by today and the only thing I found was 5x Axe points packs @$2.48

I picked up 4 for $10 and left 1. That was this morning.

I figured I'd get $15 of points for $10 and get some body wash while I was at it. :p

Don't bother with the Stow-Kent Target or the Chapel Hill one either. Checked both this weekend and there wasn't much 360-wise besides the Harry Potter game and the Wanted game.

Just a heads up for you Virginia CAGers, I picked up a 50 Cent: BotS for $12.48 (2 left) and a GH:WT for PS3 (2 left) for 22.xx at the target in Short Pump. One thing that I have noticed with most of my area's Targets is that they are putting their PS3 clearance games in the case with the other games. They have the clearance tag and red sticker, but they are locked up.

Fire Guitar Hero: World Tour Guitar Kits for the Xbox 360 were pushed out before I left work...(actually four, I bought one).

Here's the need to know:

Platform: Xbox 360
Game: Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit

Location: Lisbon, CT.
Where: Back middle of store. End-cap by 360/Wii games.
Stock: 4.
DPCI: 207 22 0254
Price: 22.48

No PS3 games in sight at the target i stopped at today with the exception of GTWT Guitar Bundle for $22.48, which i bought solely for the guitar, hopefully i can sell or trade the disc. But i at least managed to get some 75% games

:ps3:GTWT: Guitar Bundle $22.48
:360:Wanted $12.48
:360:WWE Legends of WrestleMania $14.98
:psp:Patapon 2 $4.98
:pc:Company of Heroes Tale of Valor $7.48

They had about 20 copies of Tomb Raider Anniversary for $4.98 to bad i already have a gutted copy from Gamestops summer sale. :/
Possibly, but I'm not greedy. I just grab one copy for myself and leave the rest. My strategy is pretty simple. You figure out which title you want and you find the local store that has a few of them and then you wait for the price drop to 75%. You don't drive aimlessly to every Target in Los Angeles. Most of the Targets you listed are not ones which I have had much luck at. Sometimes they don't even get the games that end up going on clearance or they sell out at higher levels. I will share one specific tip for the games that you cited. I got Motorstorm and Motorstorm PR both for 75% off at the Target in Culver City. I picked them up on the Monday afternoon of the drop. They had several copies. By Tuesday morning when I went back to buy some candy and other junk, they were sold out. Going to Target 3-4 times a week is foolish for clearance. If the game isn't there on Monday at the price you want, it won't be later in the week either. I'm sorry you aren't having better luck, but it's all about planning and being focused, not taking a shotgun approach.
Thanks for the heads up. I don't drive aimlessly 30 miles out of the way hoping for 75% off games (It's not worth). I work in the LA region, and my job requires me to be at any given area between the SF Valley, LA, and San Pedro. So when I'm near one, I usually stop by to check things out. I live in the heart of LA, so I have a few to frequent, like Glendale, Eagle Rock, Pasadena (x2), Alhambra, and Rosemead. I go to school in the Long Beach area, so there are times when I hit those, like LB, Signal Hill, Cerritos, and Norwalk. You would think with all those place, I would find something worth while. But for me, it's pretty tough. I have been lucky a few times (At the LB store), but not like some of the other CAG members here. Some have actually gotten some really good deals!

Were there any of the socom bundles left at Chapel Hill? I'm tempted to check on Monday to see if they are down to $15.

The PS3 system drop is causing PS3 clearance games to go quicker and blu-rays that are on sale to fly off the shelves sooner. I don't like this one bit!

Picked up Wheelman for 360 at $9.98 and Madworld for Wii at $7.48. They were the last copies of both. However, there were still copies of WWE for PSP at $13.48, CoD II for PS3 at $14.98 and Dead Space for PS3 at $14.98. I highly recommend Dead Space but play the game at night and in the dark.

There were copies of Wanted at $34.98 so waiting on that to drop before I consider it. Has anyone played the game? If so, is it worth even buying if it hits

It wasn't me, i drove all the way out to chapel hill the other night from kent to find nothing. No more Axe though? I work at Aurora Farms and was gonna stop there tonight seeing how i purchased 2 last week for 4.28.

I left 1 axe pack for whoever wanted it. There were 5, but I only bought 4.

I figured that I'd get some points for Zune downloading.

Dont bother. They are all gone.

Mall 205 Target in Portland OR recon

They had 2 of the GHWT+2 wireless guitar bundles for PS3 ($44) when I walked in. They are now down to 1.

Not tremendous price, but decent as I needed guitars for Beatles.
Dont bother. They are all gone.
dammit, streetsboro was the last place with them around here. Just to let you guys know.

Stow-great deal of star wars force unleaseshed for the 360 but they weren't marked down last time i was there 2 weeks ago.

Chapel Hill-4 GHWT bundles for every system but were still 44 on friday.

Here's a side question on the GH world tour bundle...

Guitar Hero 5 had a 5 dollar off coupon for GH games, and world tour was on the list. Did anyone try using the manufacturers coupon on top of the clearance price? I'm thinking about going back to target and giving it a try.

I think you meant GHWT+1 wireless guitar bundle. I just went to a Target I didn't visit yesterday and they still got 3 bundles going for 44.98. I picked up one. Since knowing my area, those will be gone in the next week. All other Targets that I went to yesterday had 2-3 on shelves 1 week ago and is now sold out.

I'm in Orange County, CA.(Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, etc area)

ps3-lespaul-tn-175.jpg

No its odd ... I had never seen any GHWT with anything but the sunburst wireless guitar ... this Target is in the twilight zone

I stopped by the Target on Maryland Parkway and Flamingo in Vegas and they had:

1 copy- 50 Cent Blood in the Sand (PS3) = $12.48
1 copy- Peggle Dualshot (DS) = $9.xx
3 copies- Warhawk (PS3) = $7.48

I bought one copy of Warhawk for a friend so there should be two left. It's the Red GH version of the game.
