This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

They went from 89 -------> 69 ---------> 49 and now I don't know what it will drop to. They have blue, pink, and black/gold ones hidden under the glass. I may get one if they survive another drop. YMMV, You can check on the scanner.

Checked one target today, and the price for the TV was 450. However, the 120 GB Zune was marked down to 120, but there were none in stock.
 
FYI, for Akron/Canton area CAGs: I checked the Streetsboro(on RT 303) Target and the Chapel Hill, OH Target and niether had the vizio in stock.(both had the dci @$450 too, so they were never there @$225)
 
Saw dozens of copies of GoW:CoO at $10. All black label copies too. I'm tempted to pick up a copy, but I think I'll wait till next week and see if it drops one more time.
 
My target sucks. They never have any of these deals. I actually saw Secret Agent Clank (PS2) and got excited thinking itd ring up for 4.98 but it scanned at 19.99. Same thing with Ghostbusters
 
Your store must be slow at dropping prices then. All of them are different. Sometimes they drop at one store and they won't drop at all at the other.

Only if you have the debit or credit card from which you made the purchase. They use your card to look up your history of purchases.
 
I found the clearance Vizio with the correct DPCI number but it was marked $450. I went and typed in the number into a scanner and it also said aroud $450. This was a 32" 1080P Vizio. My Target clearance is always way, way behind everywhere else.
 
Checked the Vizio at my store, but when I typed in the DCPI into the scanner, it said item not found. I know this means it has been removed from the database, but the problem is that it makes me wonder if it got discounted further before that happened. I know in the past with certain clearance games, you generally had to get a clerk to use one of those handheld machines to check the last price.

There were still signs that said 450, and the red tags said the same.

Hmmm.
 
32" Vizio's at my local Parma, OH store were out of the system as well. Last price was $479.98, I think yesterday and no today they were removed from the system. Nowhere else nearby has them either. :/

I'm going to go on Monday and see what the deal is then, if they are still around. Tried asking them today if the price had dropped, but it still showed 450.
 
yeah, question about the Vizio. Last night I found two of them in a Target in Savannah, GA. on an endcap, marked clearance. I went up to the scanner to enter the dcpi and it said item not found (or something along those lines)...no one who worked there knew what to do. they said the best they could offer me was 450.

I went to another target in Savannah about 7 miles away. I entered the dcpi and it showed at the 225 price. sadly they had none in stock. I spoke with a very helpful person in guest services who called the other target. she explained the situation, and mentioned to them that they should look under "RS apps" to see the lowest price. They blew her off and that was that.

I called the target which had two sets last night as of closing, and this morning they are no longer there. at least that is what I was told by the store manager. The dcpi still does not show in the system there. So what is the next step I should take, just go back to the store and hope to find it? Sorry for the winded post, but its frustrating. Was hoping to pick this up and make it my primary gaming tv upstairs. Thanks for any helpful info in advance.

strange thing was that they had call of juarez and it wasn't on clearance... didnt check the dpci since this store has the older scanners w/o the numbers to punch in ... not sure if the above clearance was just a YMMV or some fluke since NHL 2k10 seems really damn recent to clearance it doesnt it?

also saw fable 2 for 15.... gonna try and find one at 7.50 (75%) since the GOTY vers is coming out for what is it 30$? so buying it at 15 doesnt seem like a huge deal.... played eps 1 on live n i think this one looks like a buy

First, Never list your city...that in itself may have screwed your chances this morning...
Second, NEVER call about such a great deal (staff members, maybe even the manager you spoke to probably bought them when you brought it to their attention on the call) instead, you should have been at the 2 in stock store at opening (better yet, drove back last night)...and I guess you can try it now...ask for the LOD and see what happens...more time that passes, less chance...heck at a last resort... tell them you suspect a staff member swooped in on it and you will be calling corporate to investigate...
good luck, but I think your timing and phone calls may have made this a no go...

How do you use the keypads? The Target I frequent has a price scanner and it has 4 buttons with letters across the bottom (ABCD) and 0-9 in a line down the side. I couldn't get the numbers to do anything. If I presses C and D, they brought up a screen to punch in a DCPI, in theory- but I couldn't press any numbers. C populated a 0 in the first spot and D populated a 9, iirc. If I pressed them, it added another 0 or 9, respectively, but I couldn't figure out how to do any other numbers. I didn't even notice A or B doing anything.

Anyone familiar with Target's system able to help out?

My Target has a bunch of scanners. I know on one of them, the numbers did nothing. But on another, they did work. All I did was walk up and start hitting the numbers, and the screen eventually changed.

So just check a few of them out.

Next time something does not ring up in a scanner just find n associate with one of the price check guns (idk what they are called but they wear them in a holster) they can check the last scanned price with those. I do it all the time for games and what not...
 
Stores clearances vary by store. Read the OP. The TV can very well be $450 in one store and $225 in another. All my local stores still have it listed as $450 - and I had them scan it as well, $450 still.

Vizio officially dead for me.

On Friday I checked the DCPI in the scanner and got the "no item found." Asked a guy if the price was the lowest valid one on the off chance it had dropped, but it hadn't. He told me to check back on Monday.

Looked just now and both the display and the one boxed unit were gone, replaced with the same model of TV but with different DCPI numbers (and thus different versions).

So I'm guessing that guy removed them from the floor and then...well I'm not sure what happened at that point.

Sucks but oh well.
 
Here's hoping for some Wii drops on Monday to coincide with Target's B2G1 sale.

Also another big thanks from me to the people in my area who fucking raid Target as soon as something drops from $60 to $40. I hope you're all having fun with your $40 GH Metallica games. God fucking forbid we all wait a month and get it for 12 bucks. Retards.

thanks for the advice guys. I only mentioned my location to help others out potentially. never thought of someone else trying to beat me to the deal. anyhow I got the vizio for the 225 price. all I did was return to the target where it was still 450. after purchasing I went to the other target to do a return/buy back at the lower price. they just gave me the difference back in cash. they did offer to give it to me on a target gcard. hopefully that will work for other. although I was told the vizio sets were no longer available, they both were in the back stock room. best of luck to everyone. hope the pic isn't too big.

Red Faction is 27.98, at least at the College Point Target. Picked one up, enjoyed the demo, and loved the first Red Faction.

this is actually why I've just about given up on target deals... the fact that my local one is about 2 months behind most people on here with drops and that most good games get picked up at the $40 price drop.... now I still look from time to time... but not like I used to... prolly will check it out tomorrow to see if bigs 2 has dropped to 12.00 or so tho...
