This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Got the Orange Box for 13.98. Apparently the box that the game was placed in wasn't supposed to have that sticker, but the cashier gave me the game at that price anyways. Got that with Bioshock at 19.98 (could've gotten it a few bucks cheaper somewhere else and I wanted to get Mass Effect) but I wanted to use the $10 coupon so I snagged both for a total of 25.xx after tax.

Not a bad idea. The only DS games I saw were Rhythm Heaven at $21.xx and Guitar Hero On Tour/Decades bundle for $21.xx, both of which I already own, and a small pile of those Imagine games for girls, but I didn't even check the prices on those.

That's actually a good question, if you could find 2 of the $3.74 PSP games there would be an overage of $2.52, I wonder if you could apply the $2.52 for another item (since they wouldn't give you the actual cash amount) you are buying or if the coupon auto adjusts to the amount of the games. My guess is it auto adjusts

It just adjusts and makes them free, you wouldn't get anything else taken off

I've searched back quite a few pages, and I hate to be the guy who asks this... what is the Target coupon? I know it's $10 off two games, but I haven't seen where to get it. I probably scanned over it without recognizing it.

Nope, the overage doesn't apply. it applies the coupon to packages of 2 games, it doesn't take it off the grand total.

Anyways, picked up a bunch of games, but a bunch haven't dropped yet. I heard a few times yesterday that certain stores in my area now mark games down on Thursdays and not on Monday anymore. Anyone hear similar?

I received a book in the mail from Target, "The big holiday toy sale" it's a catalog similar to the Toys R Us version. About half way through the book there is a section with coupons and they are all in there. You may also find this book at your local Target, either in the Toys section or maybe in CS or up front somewhere but YMMV. I just randomly got it in the mail.

I went to Target tonight, still trying to use my coupons

All the games that were on clearance are still the same price. However, they did add a few more, but these were all still in the case, unfortunately, the only one I can remember is Lego Star Wars for $13.98. Seems like a pretty good price, but I'm sure it will drop a little more, since I have the other Lego games, I think I may wait and see what happens. There were probably 10 or so other games that also dropped, but for the life of me I can't remember them.

There's still a couple more weeks left, you may just get lucky as well. Went to a second Target and picked up Final Fantasy $7.48 and another copy of Lego Batman $4.98. $2.48 after coupon. Didn't want the 2nd copy of Lego Batman, but with the coupon, it's actually cheaper with LB. Looks like I'm giving that extra copy away.

No one questioned the printed coupon. The person ringing it up in electronics gave no reaction, and neither did I. I handed over the coupon, he scanned it, he then gave the receipt to me and off I went. No words were exchanged.

I picked up Tiger Wood w/WiiMotionPlus & some Imagine DS game. The coupon worked and the price came out cheaper than if I got the Tiger Woods by itself.

Picked up Skate 2 for $19.98 & Dead Space (platinum hits) for $13.98 -$10 coupon = $24, not too bad, both clearanced, found Dead Space in the separate cheap game area / isle that some Targets have for $30 & under games.
