This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
Anybody have a new Street Fighter IV for Xbox 360? I am looking for that one. I found NHL 09 for PS3 $20.98. Let me know if I can help anyone out over here.
I found one yesterday that I'd be willing to part with. The clerk said it was supposed to have been salvaged, but hadn't yet. I'm looking for a Bionic Commando (360) or Henry Hatsworth (DS), but it has been a little while since they were clearanced, so I'm probably out of luck.

Where are you guys getting the PSP coupon? Looking to buy a PSP 3000 for my daughter this Christmas and it would come in handy.

jeremy517 - PM me. I will take a look for you at my local Targets today. :D
FYI, at my local target, Ghostbusters for the PC now rings up at $19.99.
It's been $19.99 universally for some time. Obviously your best bet is that it drops.

Mine had a Rock Band 2 on clearance w/sticker at around $100.

I want the bundle, since I can't pickup just the guitars.

Has anyone see the bundle cheap @ Target or just everything separate?

Do games scan @ the register as the marked down price? I priced checked both Madden 09 and Prince of Persia for $29.99 each. Hmmmm.

They should. But before you take them to a register, find a scanner around one of the store's many aisles and scan it yourself.

If you price checked them at the self scanner, they won't be any lower at the register.

(Unless you somehow hit the small window where they're doing markdowns and you happen to scan it and then they lower it by the time you walk to the register.)

What do you mean by "restock"?

Huntington, WV Target store

Fable II Standard Edition: $14.98

Start checking your stores. Fable II was sold out at my store but the price tag was on the shelf. If anyone can get it for $14.98 at their store I will PayPal you the money and cost of shipping :)

looking for lego batman for 12.48 and call of juarez for 14.95, i picked up hawks and sega genisis collection - total 24.99 using 10 off coupon!!! saw ghostbusters wolfenstein and the rest still around 41.

Anybody else get really annoyed when they go to check the clearance at their local Target only to find somebody else there already looking through it?

When I went yesterday, this soccer mom spent a solid 15 minutes looking through the clearance endcap. She was too fat for me to able to go in and take a good look at the games so I ended up just waiting it out and got really frustrated in the process. Eventually, her stupid 17-18 year old son comes over and she starts debating with him the merits of buying him a Mature rated game. I laughed a little on the inside at this point because I never nagged my parents to buy me a game (at least not in the store) at any age and here this kid is begging his mommy to buy him a new game (which he didn't get I believe).

Well I have no problem with just "Deebo"-ing my way around ppl to get to the clearance endcap. Additionally, I never had to beg my parents to buy me mature stuff. 1) I dont remember ESRB ratings when I was a youth. 2) My parents were the type to take my sister and her friends to see "The Running Man" for her 14th b-day and let me tag along (I was 11). So they had no problem w/ "mature" content.

I need to catch up on a few pages of this thread, as I have been having computer problems and it is difficult to do on just a blackberry, but I want to publicly thank Synidaeum. I tried to PM this to him, but it seems his PMs are full. I hope he is still watching/tracking this thread.

Thank you so much Synidaeum. I really appreciate it. I apologize for not responding sooner to thank you or using the code yet. I've had some real life problems to deal with for the past week, namely my car breaking down and my computer crashing. I've been accessing the site through my blackberry, but it's a bit difficult to navigate that way. Thanks again.

My local Target is had mainly Xbox 360 games, the only PS3 game they had was NHL 09 (4 copies) and Dirt 2 for both was $41.xx. However, they had a bunch of Blu-ray DVDs on sale like:
-Dark Knight - $20
-The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - $15
-The Ninth Gate - $12
-Transformers 2 - $22
and a bunch more

there other day when i picked up 2 copies of the bigs 2 (9.xx) i saw those soccer moms ur talking about....monday mourning...early as hell...i didnt expect them to b in the video game clearance but they were....(top of the line milfs by the way)...anyways....they were just browsing the games and im like.."wow these woman know what there doing"...little did i realise that they passed up on some great games and prices....so i dont mind these soccer moms browsing and asking me questions about games and what not...

gave them both that $10 off coupon...

I've had this problem a few times at Target, but not just with soccer moms. The most recent, and most annoying was on Tuesday. I was kind of in a hurry, I just ran to Target to check the games and pick up some movies. I only had about an hour and planned to go to Target, Best Buy and Play N Trade. As usual, my first stop was the clearance games, I was hoping they finally marked things down. So I get over there and there is a lady looking at them, she was blocking most of the games, but then had her cart "parked" so that the rest of the games were blocked as well.

After watching for a short time I could tell she was going to be a while. So, I snooped in, grabbed a couple of games I wanted to check and was able to get out. Unfortuantely, prices were still where they were, so I checked to be sure, but nothing was on sale. I didn't get to look at all the games, so I wanted to go back, but she wouldn't leave. I was there for at least 20 minutes waiting on her to finish, I managed to look through all of the games and all of the movies/Blu-Rays before she finally finished. (And looking through the movies at this Target is no easy task, for some reason they have no method at all and to find what you want you basically just have to look at each one)

So that was pretty annoying. I also had a couple of guys (I think they may have been hoarders and together) nearly knock me over when I was looking through the games one time. They came running, each down a different isle, back to the clearance games, one with a cart with two kids in it and they were not planning to stop for anything. As soon as they got there they shoved their way in until they were able to get what they want.

The other, notable, time was when a guy was looking through each and every game in the clearance section. Not only did he look at the cover (and really scan it over) then read the back of each one. I was looking for one game in particular that I wanted and was hoping would still be there since it should have hit the 75% off point. I seen the game, knew he was going through every thing and taking a very long time, so I worked my way in and was able to grab the game, while not disturbing his reading. I managed to get my game, look through all the other games and come back a litte later after doing some additonal shopping and he was still there. He was probably there for at least an hour and when I left he still had not put anything in his cart.... I found it kind of funny because, personally, I cannot stand reading the descriptions on movies, books, games, etc. I don't know why but I always look at the back when I'm interested, but as far as reading them (even if I'm renting from Redbox or anything) I never seem to, they just annoy me for some reason... just another weird thing about me I guess!

Yeah, I know it mightbe a bit off topic, but I work for Target, and I know they sent us a message saying that a bunch of new price cuts just came out for Blu Ray movies, so you might just want to check it out. I just picked up UP (lol), the special 4 disc edition with a journal for $20, retail is $35.

Was able to get:
LEGO Batman (360) $12.48 (not placed with clearance, just hanging out in the value section) -- this will be a Christmas present (already have a copy; great game)
G-Force (360) $24.98 (last copy had been holding steady at $35 for a long time prior)
Then I used the $10 coupon and I mentally take the whole $10 off of G-Force. That's gotta be a $15 game at best.

Others:
GI Joe (360) at $24.98
Big Hunter (360) at $27.xx
Wolverine Origins (360) at $29.98
GH Metallica (360) at $29.98 (in kiosk)
Bigs (360) at $19.98

At my Target they do not have the games on an endcap anymore. They started on a full endcap near the movies, then they were move to a shelf back near the toys for a week. Now they are behind the glass and you can only see the first few games with other clearance games behind them. Now it is very hard to check prices if they marked them down, but did not update the stickers.

Use the DCPI #'s or print barcodes and use the self-scanners around the store.

It is my experience that new items are added to clearance and prices drop for existing clearance items on Mondays. I have visited several Targets in NC and have found this to be pretty universal here.

Found a copy of bionic commando which rang out of system for PS3. I haven't seen these in a few weeks, I guess it was in the back room or something. Picked it up and Wolverine for PSP for $13 total.

Noticed Kung Fu Panda for $20 and they added a few of the bargain games to the clearance, assassins creed and some other crap. There were a TON of Rock band 2 and GH Metalica.

At my target it looks like a bunch of those 20/30 dollar games just hit clearance:
Assassins Creed - 20.98
Farcry 2 - 20.98
Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga - 13.98
Tomb Raider: Anniversary - 13.98
There were a few more but none of them were notable.

I'm sorry this is off-topic, but just say "excuse me" when someone is blocking you from the games. I have seen soccer moms, guys who read the back covers, people who park their cart, etc and I never had anyone say "No"....sometime they look pissed, but I don't care.

I rather have them looked pissed than me looking pissed just waiting there.

Except for El Hoardo - he'll just bundle all of the clearance games up in his ample arms when you get close and tip toe away from you before you can look at any of them.

I don't think that's a good example. Arnold's sly wit is appropriate for all ages. Plus a movie with two governors, Richard Dawson, Jim Brown, and Sub Zero now Plain Zero? I'd question the credentials of a parent who *didn't* bring their child to that movie.

Back on-topic, my Target had a ton of new 360 games on clearance, including a bunch of the Greatest Hits titles.

Northgate Seattle Target just got a ridiculous amount of Mass Effects marked at $13.98 (from $20). There had to be like 30-40 copies. As long as they don't end up trashing them, it should hit $5
Anyone seen :360:GH:Metallica for 75%? All of my locals have been stuck at 50% for weeks.
Same here, waiting impatiently on the next drop.

Incidentally, handsomepete, I find your avatar exceptionally creepy.

I picked up GH:Metallica @ $30 ($25 after $5 GH coupon), along with 2 copies of GI Joe @ 2x $12.48, minus $10 Target coupon (all for :360) on Monday. Flipped 1 copy of GI Joe @ $12.75 when I bought RB2 SE for $100 @ GS, flipped the other @ $15 when I picked up a used copy of RB1 :360: at a local shop.

I would have flipped them both @ GS but they wouldn't take more than 1 copy of a title in trade. No problem for me, as I got more value @ the other store.

Yes, I realize I could have waited to pick up GH cheaper, but I decided to pull the trigger, since I wanted it, and didn't want to chance missing out - especially considering the number of copies was dropping significantly.

Yeah, I saw this too. It was nuts to see this title multiply like gremlins. If anyone wants a non-Platinum Hits cover Mass Effect, this is the jackpot.

And I even saw one copy that had the "Do not break release date" security sticker on it!!!

If I am not mistaken the platinum hits version of Mass Effect has extra content over the standard version just an fyi.

Spokane Valley, WA had RE5 PS3 $29.**, Assassins Creed 360 Platinum Hits $20.**, Wolverine for like, $27.**, a few others still moderately high.

However, Spokane North had a 360 Elite for $210.00. No idea why they were clearancing an elite, but it's a pretty sweet deal. Also a bunch of GH: World Tour, both the Guitar kit (didn't see how much), and the full band kit for $83.**.
