This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I think they're just trying to mitigate risk from people abusing coupons and returning unopened games. The idea is that you actually "paid" 29.98 for (say) Wolfenstein and they took 10.00 off the total. It's not fair to refund you to 29.98 since it was part of the coupon deal, so they try and find a middle ground between people taking advantage and people who genuinely just want to return something. I think it's nice.

I was able to grab :360:GH: Metallica and :360:X-Men Origins both at 75% off plus the coupon on my lunch break. $20.XX total is not bad at all for those. Sadly none of my locals seem to have any of the
 
just got god of war (psp 4.xx) and the bigs 2 (ps3 13.xx) basically $10.xx for both games using the $10 off coupon

gow filps for $8 and the bigs 2 (ps3) flips for $17.XX at GC

i just got credit at GC $100 spent mayb $30-40 at target
 
Nothing of interest for me really when I dropped by two Targets today. I did see that Buzz bundle for PS3 was now on clearance for $40.xx. Still a bit high priced for me but I don't think they'll be sitting there long enough to make it down to a reasonable price at this point.

Just came back from CT (stamford), their Orange Box was $19.99...those cheeky basturds. They did have Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for $12.98 but that game looks too violent for my taste.

Employee stated everyone's been trading it in lately (he had no clue), but they have to accept it since it's stated in the promo.

I wouldn't hesitate to trade it in before it goes on their "not eligible" list.
 
Scored 360: Wolverine for 14.xx today at Richland, WA. The tough part is going to be waiting to play it til my son opens it for Christmas.

I wish I had noticed the trade-in deal at GS before I went out this morning. I have alot of GS credit and wouldn't mind picking up some of those games. I recently returned a copy of Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires :360: ($9.98) that I had picked up for another CAG. #-oAlso, Cabela's Outdoor Adventure :360: dropped to $19.98 and is also on the list.


I went a little crazy today and picked up:

GH: Metallica :360: - $14.98
Wolverine :360: -$14.98
GI Joe :360: - $12.48
G-Force :360: - $12.48 (will probably return)
FO3: Broken Steel/Point Lookout :360: - $9.98
The Bigs 2 :360: - $9.98
Wii Skii and Snowboard :wii: - $9.98
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs :wii: - $12.48
Big Brain Academy :ds: - $4.98
Red Faction: Guerilla :360: - $19.98
Lego Batman :360: - $7.48 (mistagged)

This is the first time that I've been able to use the coupon. I decided to pick up Red Faction at 50% off since there are only a few copies in my area and most are still at $27.98. I paired it with LBM and got it for $12.70.

BTW, Lego Batman was mistagged at $7.48. It had a clearance sticker that was meant for Fable 2. The only reason that I was given that price was because the game was locked in a plastic security case. The clerk had to get approval from the manager and told me that I was getting a good deal for 2 games. Then I pulled out the coupon. :lol: She did give me a hard time with the coupon but I was allowed to use it after she got the Manager involved again.

Picked up Dead Space (13.98 and last copy) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (14.98), both for :360: at the Target in O'side, CA.

Didn't use the coupon, cause...well I didn't really remember about it since my Target usually doesn't have anything worth buying.
 
There was a bunch of drops similar to what has already been posted today at my Targets. None of them interest me, so I passed.

I did pick up the Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera for $88.21, around $90 off retail price. Read good things about this camcorder.

Hit up a couple just outside Chicago(Evanston and Skokie), not quite the deals you guys are finding. Wolverine is still 29.xx, Metallica is still 29.xx, Lego Batman, much to my displeasure, was raised back up from 12.xx to 19.99. The Fallout DLC is still 12.xx too. Did see 1 copy of Fable 2 for 7.48. Couldn't pass up, however, Indiana Jones PSP for 4.xx. Naturally I needed another game to go with it, as if 4.xx wasn't cheap enough, so I saw a couple of copies of Cars PSP for 3.78. With coupon, both free. The lady in front of me frantically ran back to the aisle when she saw the Cars game for 3.78. I told her to grab the coupon and sweeten it more.

I've seen this happen with 50 Cent Blood in the Sand at my Target. There were about six copies one day and they were gone the next. I happen to go in later that week and they were all back with new stickers.

I'm thinking that sometimes they do sticker changes in the backroom sometimes? The only other explanation is that a hoarder stashed them and someone found them or a hoarder actually bought them and realized no profit then returned them.

I would try checking again later, but no promises.
 
I usually check the clearance section anytime I have to go to Target, and this morning X-Men Origins: Wolverine was still 41.98. My wife had to go again this evening get something from the Pharmacy, so I checked again and it was suddenly dropped to 14.98. It was the only copy so I had to scoop it up. I had the $10 off 2 games, but didn't see anything all that great, so I picked up Tom Clancy: End War that had dropped from 14.98 to 7.48 in the same time period, and saved 2.50 off of Wolverine instead.

I was excited since nothing ever drops at my Target, (Durham, NC) and the guy at the register was insanely jealous about Wolverine. He said they still have 5 in stock, despite me not seeing anymore. Said he was gonna hunt them down.

Sometimes if they have a higher volume of game that is not going to sell well even discounted they will ship it to a bigger more high traffic store.

When I asked one of the younger employees if they could check the titles behind the glass for some clearance games we spotted 3 copies of SFIV. I got one, he removed the other 2 and said in so many words, "oh snap" along with "imma save these for latter." So...I figured he probably cleaned out the rest of the 360 cabinet.

Otherwise, I've seen them do sticker changes on the spot early in the morning.
 
When I dropped by Target earlier today it seems like they had all the clearance stuff in a shopping cart and were gonna relocate it. Guess I'll have to stop by later in the week.

*sigh* Again, I never had any problems with people taking advantage of any deals that aren't fraudulent. My question was directed at Best Buy to ask them for some internal accountability for their stupidity in programming cash registers. They didn't give me a direct answer. Oh well. I never once said I disapproved of anyone getting away with crazy deals from Best Buy's mistake. But then again, you'd know that if either of learned to read (or even type semi-decently), or if you even knew what fraud meant in a real world legal situation (i.e. An act of deception carried out for the purpose unlawful gain.)

Buying a game from one place and returning to somewhere like Walmart without a receipt is a fraudulent act in most states. But some retailers like Walmart don't want to turn away customers, so they give you the benefit of the doubt and they take down your ID information so if you are committing fraud they can track you down and will have a paper trail of your actions. Other retailers will require a receipt or else you can't return it - they don't even want to take the risk of being a victim of return fraud.

If a retailer is going to mark down a lessened return value on a receipt or mark the receipt up in a way that allows you to "split a deal" so to speak - then it's perfectly fine. Clearly the retailer is foreseeing returns and splitting the deals and doesn't want to make you split the whole package up. If a retailer is willing to do that, then there's nothing fraudulent or illegal about it. It's within the letter of the law and the internal guidelines the store sets for its own returns - so I fail to see where there is fraud.

You could get involved in a moral pissing contest about "fraud" in a broader sense, but I don't really care. If its not against laws intended to protect both stores and consumers, and furthermore if the store knowingly allows the action to occur (whether its splitting returns, coupon stacking, allowing a glitch to continue) - I could care less on a moral level.



Back on topic, I'm jealous of who ever had multiple "Boom Blox"es at their Target. Mine just had one, and I haven't seen Boom Blox anywhere else in my area. Sucks that a hoarder got a hold of them, but like someone else just pointed out, they may just be hidden in the store as that seems to be a popular thing to do.

One thing I've started to notice is they do move some of their clearance games to a different section. Some of the targets have a lower price section of games, and a clearance shelf. There's still some marked down games hidden behind other titles though but it's hard to see due to the angle, glare, and of course...the glass.
 
My local Targets still won't drop Wolverine below $29.98. Though I noticed how quickly $13.98 clearance titles will disappear from the clearance shelves but still collect dust on the bargain shelves. One lady was completely shocked that a Wii game was $8 -- didn't matter what game it was -- all she noticed was the price. And that's who they're aiming for.
 
Mine had a copy of The Bigs 2 for $9, Wolverine was still at $29 and I forgot to get it to a scanner. I might pop back tomorrow morning and see if there was a drop in price on that one.

soccer moms in full effect

i saw today this lady who had mayb about 10 games from the clearance section (ds and wii), i know for a fact that she didnt know what games she got but she took them
 
I got owned by two hoarders and a soccer mom today.

I was just browsing around Target with the girlfriend and buying some goods for Thanksgiving and I leisurely walked over to the clearance end cap. As I'm shuffling through the games, an Indian soccer mom came at me from the left and started grabbing everything in sight. She was grabbing games by the armful, sometimes even taking two of each copy. As I was just standing there in shock at how easily she just swooped right in front of me (with complete disregard to my presence), and Indian hoarder man in a sweater vest bum rushed me from the right. He had a couple toy catalogs in his hand and grabbed about 6 copies of EndWar at 75% off.. then he made his way, in about 30 seconds. The Indian soccer mom at this point leaves and I'm just looking at my girlfriend with a what the fuck look when the second hoarder man ninjas in and takes about 4 copies of Guitar Hero Metallica at 75% off. It was brutal, a plethora of games in a fully stocked end cap decimated in about a minute and a half. I was able to walk away though.. with a lone copy of Indiana Jones hidden for the PSP.

Not too bad I guess, I also picked up the Hannah Montana games for ~$10. Got both for $5 and some change. Trades into Amazon for ~$16 and the girlfriend is a Hannah Montana fan.

Edit: Now that I think about, I think the security tape would be funny as hell just to watch. :lol:

Yeah, I just hope its not in a really noticeable area that will make picking up bargains more difficult since this is the only Target within 30 miles.

FYI: GI JOE: RISE OF COBRA is trading in for $19 at Blockbuster Video. That's right. It's marked $12.48 here, so roughly with coupon. $14 for $38.. worth it? :p

I picked up two copies of The Bigs 2 :ps3: today for $13.98 each, then used the $10 coupon, so it came to $17.98. I'll keep one, and sell or trade the other. Pretty good find though. A lot of people have been saying they got Bigs 2 for $9.xx, but I haven't seen it below $19.98 until today. Came out to a good deal with the coupon though...

nice haul today
two copies of god of war psp for free, two copies of indiana jones psp for free lego batman and socom psp for free, two copies of the bigs 2 xbox for $10 traded to gamestop for $30 credit, endwar and wolverene xbox for 12.48 + tax and lego star wars and g_force xbox for ~18+ tax.
All in all 12 games for $40 (well six games for free and 6 for 40 bucks) and two traded back for $30 in store credit and I am ahead of the game for xmas shopping.
Target was definitely robbed with coupons today!
 
Wolverine is still $30 at my Target it won't drop! UGH! Metallica GH was $14.98 though. I hope it drops next Monday cause after Black Friday nothing will be left.

At the Rego Park, NY target I picked up GH Metallic and Fable 2 for ~$30 after coupon last friday. They still had a couple GHs so anyone looking may wanna check if it's price dropped further.

If anyone sees/has an extra God of War psp I'd appreciate it.

BUT... both are only at 50% off as of today :cry:

Now I have to debate wether to go and pick them up for just 50% off (w/coupon), or try my luck for 1-2 more weeks to see if they both make it to 75% off at the same time.....

I may have to bite... I hardly see Wolfenstein anywhere, and most stores I check are already running low on Red Faction at only 30%/50% off
 
Hmm, I'm hoping to find Guitar Hero Metallica for $14.98 before they are all gone; it'll make a nice gift for the girlfriend for Christmas.

I'm not even worried about finding another game I want to use the $10 off coupon, lol.
