Some new deals will be up at noon when the eShop updates:

- If you have Super Mario World (Wii U version) or buy it before next week, you can get Super Mario Bros. 2 for 1/2 the price ($2.50 instead of $5). Having the Wii VC version won't count unless you transfer it over.

- Bit.Trip Runner 2 will be 25% off until May 30th, making it $11.25
Sweet deal on Mario 2. Will definitely pick that up. That was honestly my favorite of the three Mario NES titles.
Runner 2's easily my favorite Wii U game. I believe there's a demo, too.
It's a fantastic game. The improvements over the original are solid, although I sort of miss the pixel art as the 3D models screw with my jumping a bit.

I picked it up with the release week PSN+ discount. Trophies and broadened digital rights tipped the scale for me.

Snapping up Super Metroid tonight. I still have the original cartridge (and the ROM), but $0.30 is just too cool. (Grabbed Kirby, too.)

Picked up Super Metroid last night. I really need to play this title finally. I love the ability to re-map controls and offscreen play is fantastic.

Can't complain about that Mario 2 deal. I was wanting to play it again, but didn't get the old Wii VC version so I wasn't looking to get it for a while, but for 2.50, I get it right away.
Hmmm, kinda hoping the SMB2 deal works despite having upgraded World when it first released a week or so ago ...
It does work if you bought Mario World when it was posted on the eShop prior to today. :applause:

Great deal on SMB2. Grabbed it this afternoon. I wanted it but I wasn't going to pay $5 for it. Getting it for $2.50 feels much better. I hope this do more stuff like this in the future.

I feel compelled to buy every game for ¢30. If they'd do a VC game of the month for ¢50 for the life of the system I'd probably buy every one. Even for games I don't care about.

Yeah, me too. I wasn't going to buy either, now I'll probably buy both. Hopefully, if it gets a good response, they'll get the hint, but this IS Nintendo we're talking about here...

Now that the 3 Kirby SNES games are confirmed for next week, I'm very interested to see if Nintendo of America does the buy 2 get 1 free deal that Japan did.

Same. Just grabbed Super Metroid.

I feel exactly the same way.

Even though I HATE their Virtual Console Pricing, i Grabbed Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Metroid. I figured the prices all averaged out with the deals.

Nice!

didn't know about this Super Mario 2 deal and I already had purchased Super Mario World.

Not the greatest fan of Super Mario 2, but hey, will give it another look.

Sigh... they need to start releasing older games like this simultaneously on the Wii U and 3DS. I know it's been said time and time again but they really need to.

... and link them into one purchase, like the PS3+Vita cross buys.

Link? I have the Kirby dream collection so I assume that there would be no point in buying these.

Also, they did say they would release GBA games for the Wii U VC at some point, right? I never really dug handheld gaming so there is all kinds of stuff I would want to buy if true.

Saw this earlier about an eshop deal on super metroid. I was thinking it was also on t he 3ds . Where's the 3ds deals? What..no love for the handheld deals Nintendo?

There's no SNES Virtual Console on the 3DS, so that's not possible at the moment.

3DS sales are listed over here.

I don't know about that, but I would think the Wii U is set up fairly well to replicate the DS experience.

And no Game Boy or Game Gear on Wii U
There's no SNES Virtual Console on the 3DS, so that's not possible at the moment.
True, but there is plenty of overlap with the NES titles. There was that rumor on notenoughshaders that owners of both WiiU and 3DS have something to look forward to - hopefully it is a merger of the stores.

I get excited when I see games like super metroid that you can pick up for cents or even free from Nintendo club and then realize 3DS can't play them.

Boo.

Is there any hope of SNES classics being put on the 3DS? I don't even know why it's not compatible in the first place.

Maybe we will hear more at e3. It's interesting that no first party Nintendo game appears on both the WiiU and 3ds store. I mean they skipped smb1 and lost levels and went straight to 2 on Wiiu. Might be a sign of a similar licensing program coming and they don't want to release stuff like super Metroid, have people buy it for $8 and then later change it to the $1.50 licensing fee.

New deal later today. Until next week, if you buy two of the Kirby games added today to the Wii U VC (Dream Land 3, Dream Course, & Super Star), you get the third for free.

The press site doesn't mention if this includes upgrading the Wii VC version, so I don't know if having one or two of the games count or not. If it's like last week's deal where upgrading the Wii VC version of Super Mario World counted towards getting SMB2 for 1/2 off, maybe it will, but I'll wait to hear from Nintendo for confirmation.

Update: Yup, if you have the Wii version and upgrade, it'll still count towards the offer. Hopefully, this might become a weekly thing, as there's now a Virtual Console deal page that updates.

& the offer is now up.

New deal for this week:

Kirby Buy 2 Get 1 Free Deal - Includes Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Dreamland 3, and Kirby Superstar - $3.00 to $15.98 Total - Ends 5/30 - More Details

You still qualify if you've already purchased them on Wii and transferred them over to Wii U, so they could cost you as low as $3.

Damn I upgraded my Kirby Superstar and would love to purchase Kirby's Dream Land 3 and get a free Kirby game. Problem is I hate Kirby's Dream Course. I would have liked to see Kirby's Avalanche included. If I want to play some sort of weird putt putt golf I'll stick to my PS1 Rugrats game!

The NES version of Ghosts 'n Goblins was added on Virtual Console in EU for €4.99 (confirmed for Thursday for US for $4.99), and they have a deal where you can grab it for half the price at €2.49 if you buy or already own Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts until June 6th. Considering we've had two VC deals weekly in a row, I'm betting that we'll get the deal later this week.

Yeah, I "tried out" the other two games and it was clear why they did this promotion.

So we got a slightly different deal than Europe. If you get either Mega Man X or Ghosts 'n Goblins (NES), you can get the other game for 1/2 off. So if you get GnG, MMX will be $4 and if you get MMX, GnG will be $2.50. If you want to make the most of this, I'd suggest getting GnG and then getting MMX for 1/2 off since you're saving $4 instead of $2.50.

Also, select Just Dance 4 DLC is on sale for 30% off. You can see a list of the songs discounted here.
