This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Gotta get people hyped or no one will care about it.

(I like soccer a lot)
Problems with World Cup are getting a lot of people to care. Not for a happy reason though.

New Wolfenstein is ok. I think it is a bit boring. Fun killing stuff, but there's too much crap in-between. I hate having to look for a small key

You seem to have an opinion and the notion that yours is a universal truth. Wha?
Well, it *should* be! It's a racing game that forces you to lose over and over to earn enough XP to get a car that can actually win races. There's something very wrong about that design. I just want people not to make the same mistake I did and waste their money and hard drive space on this.

You aren't necessarily made to lose over and over but the game is a challenging racer in the beginning. What I felt though was over time that steep difficulty curve leveled out and you can always go back to previous races with better cars to grab a better score. The track editor alone is worth the value of that price imo.

Oh so FIFA 14 is on sale this week for Xbox One, my guess for candidate for GwG lol (plus Europe got it with their launch bundles anyways).

Ummm what?
Outside of Canada and the US (although that's changing now) basically the whole world cares about it. It's the most watched sporting event (beats out both Olympics) in the world.

I was just saying that a Football related sale would make sense at the beginning of the World Cup.

(I like soccer a lot)
I used to call it soccer until I watched a game. Since they actually move the ball with their feet, and it is an actual ball with a 'ball' shape, I do think the game has earned the definitive title of Football.

That sounds exactly like Yaris!

Yeah they pretty much nailed it.

Dunno wtf Americans were thinking when naming American "Football".

Oh god, the flash backs.
Remember how the game always reminded you that you were playing Yaris: From Toyota, by saying "Yaris: From Toyota" at the start of every race.

Yeah, that was brilliant...

Which reminds me. I really want to finish that game sometime and see what the boss battle is like. My expectations are so low that it can only be good, right?

Because same reason why something called The World Series only has American teams. We're fucking awesome.
We included Canada with the Toronto Blue Jays. So it's semi global.

I was apprehensive about picking up Tekken because the last time SCV was on sale I picked it up and was thoroughly disappointed. Tekken:TT2 is the way to make a sequel, really glad I picked it up for the nostalgia that I didn't get from SCV.

I tried the demo for Beautiful Katamari and kind of hated it.  I can see how it COULD be a lot of fun, but it just gave me a headache.

I picked up Ridge Racer Unbounded last time it was on sale and it is difficult but it's also a lot of fun.  As a bonus, it's only like 1.7 GB.

I'm seriously considering AC VD.  I dunno, something about spending hours in menus and sub-menus, micromanaging and completely unleashing the anal-retentive/OCD side of me just sounds like fun.

I would also really love to pick up TTT2 but I haven't played a Tekken game since I was in middle school and Tekken 1 & 2 were in arcades.

I had to pick up Fifa this morning on the X1 at that price. Too good too pass up especially with the World Cup coming up. Nice to finally see some X1 deals.

looks like details for the Xbox One June update are out, here's a snippet:

" Your Xbox One system will soon support up to two external hard drives at once. Simply plug in your 256 GB or larger USB 3.0 external hard drive and once formatted, copy and move games, apps and game add-ons to increase your storage capacity at home."

I was tempted to get RR: Unbounded, because it's only 1.7gb or so, BUT no Reiko Nagase, no RR. I know, I know, but my HDD is grateful for that, so all is fine around here.

I so hope, though I'm not holding my breath, that they give external hard drive support to the 360.

Yeah I want to pull the trigger but I have a feeling that game will eventually be GwG with Launch Adopters in Europe getting it bundled with their systems.

Its possible they do that but i would not hold my breath. I assume that for the first year or so we will only be getting xbox live games not full retail games with the GWG on X1.

Soul Calibur has been suffering from an identity crisis since SCIII whereby sharp contrast Tekken knows precisely what it is and what fans want from the franchise. (With perhaps the exception of Tekken 4)

Tekken Tag 2 is easily one of the best fighters out there so kudos on your purchase. It really is a no-brainer for that price.

I'll wait until I run out of space to get an external HD. Probably sometime next year unless a bunch of games magically appear in my house. I'm happy with the 10 or so that I own and can just delete the ones I rent.

Automatic account sign in for new Kinectless people. Not a bad change yet, but it is the small beginning of the dashboard dumbdown.  I'm more worried about what they are going to do to the dashboard. It is really slick looking now, but they might have to change for the new peoples without Kinect. I hope it doesn't get overcrowded with crap like 360 dashboard is.

Every update the X1 gets closer to the product that it probably should have launched as.  Those hard drives start to fill up quick so I'm glad this feature is almost here.

Decided to check out Nutjitsu yesterday.  I hope this isn't the type of crap that becomes the norm for the ID@Xbox program.  It's feels like a cell phone game put onto the X1 and not a very good one at that.  Achievement junkies should be all over it though.  A little over 2 hours for 1000/1000.

The world series had been going on since like 1900 so it was most likely called that because back in the day those teams that competed for it comprised those who were actually playing baseball.

KI Ultra is $20 if you already own the Combo Breaker pack? So essentially it's not a discount, right? Rather, it's just a properly priced upgrade that people have been asking for since the game came out

Kind of deceptive to call it a "50% off" sale; wish they knocked an additional 12% off that so you save money even if you already have the Combo Breaker pack

:fridge: I wish more of the indie games would be as cheap nutjitsu. 15 bucks or more is too much.

Count me in for those waiting for external hdd support for the 360...I will probably buy more $5 Games on Demand titles then...
Someone on MajorNelson's site left a comment that it is not possible to do this for the 360 without a complete firmware rewrite. I am not sure if that is true or not though.

Good lord. Armored Core has been around almost as long as the original PlayStation! You do it a disservice by dismissing it with such a comparison. Armored Core (at least the games I have played) are much deeper than that. You go on missions, then use the money you've earned to improve your mech... and there's a huge amount of customization involved. I'm not sure it can really be compared to anything in particular, but I will say that it stomped earlier mech games to pieces with its depth and playability.

My only problem is that the series seemed to lose its way when it was released for later systems. I don't seem to recall much that was worth getting excited about in the PS2 games, and I utterly hated the demo I played of AC4 on the Xbox 360. I dearly hope this new game is better, because I haven't seen flattering reviews of AC5.
I literately face palmed myself seeing a comment "It sounds like CoD with mechs" in regards to Armored Core. But *after exhaling with a smile* I came to terms with tendency of new gen gamers to compare everything to FPS giants like CoD. It's understandable that gamers of PS3/360 gen will compare everything to CoD. My little bro is 13 and he compares Halo to CoD, meaning that Halo is a rip-off of CoD. You just can't take kids seriously.
Man you guys need to learn to recognize a joke. I'm 30, FYI.

No, that is called 'Titanfall'. Armored core is 'Armored core'.

As others have said, Xbone finally starting to look like the console that it should have been at launch. Kinda like the Wii U eh? :whistle2: Little bummed 360 prolly will never get an external drive but that's okay. Never expected it to. M$ made their money on us peeps buying 250 gig offical hard drives.

360 is gonna have three killer weeks in a row. Wolfenstein this week, Watch_Dogs next and then Murdered: Soul Suspect the first week of June. Throw in Mario Kart 8 on Wii U and that's a ton of games I can't afford. Gotta wait for a sale. My cheap ass commands it

look like the xbox one memory can be expanded hella lot more externally now according to this picture

Someone on MajorNelson's site left a comment that it is not possible to do this for the 360 without a complete firmware rewrite. I am not sure if that is true or not though.
I'm not a 360 programmer or anything, but I find this very hard to believe. Technically, it already has external hard drive support and it seemed easy enough for them to increase the storage limit from 16GB to 32GB in 2012. Why couldn't they just increase it again? Even if it didn't become limitless, an increase to 500GB or 1TB would be infinitely helpful.

Unless it really is either technically impossible or too difficult to be worth their effort for a last-gen console, there is literally no reason for them not to do this now. They are not making money off of this limit anymore. If anything, they are losing money. Nobody buys official Xbox hard drives or flash drives anymore, but some people deliberately do not buy digital games because of a lack of storage space. The existence of Games with Gold makes this even more of a no-brainer.

There's supposed to be a 360 system update next month at the same time as the One update to make apps free, right? The way I see it, there will either be a stealth external storage limit increase as part of this update (like there was when it was increased from 16GB to 32GB) or we can give up hope that it will ever happen. The more time passes, the less Microsoft cares about 360 users.

I was apprehensive about picking up Tekken because the last time SCV was on sale I picked it up and was thoroughly disappointed. Tekken:TT2 is the way to make a sequel, really glad I picked it up for the nostalgia that I didn't get from SCV.
But last time SCV was on sale, it was just $3.74. How cheap are you? ;)

Sure, it's not so good if you are playing solo but it's pretty good if you play online and the netcode is probably one of the best for fighting games in the last couple of years.

So perhaps now you can start referring to it as the Xbox One instead of Xbone?

It has to be 256 GB or bigger. They didn't put an upper cap on it. Major Nelson tweeted he's been using a 4 TB one.

It's true, Major has confirmed it. Xbox One will support two 256 GB USB 3.0s at once to be used for storage.
This is all cool and all, but what happens when the internal 500 gb dies? It is mechanical hard drive after all so it could last anywhere from 1 day to 10 years+. One thing Sony does better is in this dept, where any ordinary user, even a grandma, can change an internal hard drive in 5 mins or less.

I Think more the problem is not them, but your failure at being able to make a good joke.
Ditto. Not everybody knows everyone's sarcasm meter honestly. Lotta people up in here. Besides why are we talking about Armored Core? Should be discussing HALO in this joint!!!!

Why do you ask? I usually go by X1 or Xbone just as I went with 360 for the Xbox 360

Yes, that must be it. I forgot that the phrase "Call of duty with mechs" hasn't been universally used to describe Titanfall for months now. No one would possible be able to make that connection. Thanks for your help.

So I know nothing about soccer but I have some Xbox credit expiring in a couple of months.  The reviews on FIFA 14 are positive but how is it for those not familiar with soccer?

I first started playing FIFA when I wasn't a big soccer fan, which did slowly become an acquired taste and now I'm hooked. Soccer's rules are much more simple than say NFL or NHL's, so even if you haven't got a clue you'll get used to it fast. The controls are fairly easy and can be changed to your liking: if you want, you can have all kind of helps from the game like semi-automatic directioning in passes and shots, automatic player switching (obviously you control one at a time, the others move by AI), and so on. The default settings are easy enough, and are useable online as well, albeit some game modes will require you specific options (such as Seasons mode requiring the tactical defense, which is a multi-button function which allows you great liberty in defending, rather than holding A and let the player do the rest, pretty much). There are many, MANY tricks and ballgames you can do: moving the barrier "illegaly" during free kicks, intentionally grabbing an opponent's shirt, all kinds of crazy stuff you'd only see in FIFA Street (that you can only perform with the best players and with button combos that can be complicated), but frankly, unless you are planning to go pro, you can basically live by knowing how to pass, shoot and defend, plus a couple details on using these actions better. If you're a true CAG and want to go cheap (and you're on X360), you could also go for FIFA 13: you can likely find it for less than 10$ nowadays (or more if you're planning to use Xbox credits), it's got nearly everything FIFA 14 does, its servers are still up and running with still thousands of players playing it regularly, and you don't risk buying something fairly expensive that may not even be of your liking. But I think it could be: it's made in a way that you can find challenges even if you've been pro in the past 10 FIFA games, and even if this is your first attempt at playing a soccer videogame.
