GGT 243's Dawg Died Because of CAG 3.0

Can't wait for Solid Snake to show up with Hayter as the voice so he can talk to Big Boss Keifer Sutherland. Will be sweet.

Also, for anyone who for some reason thinks the Xbox One every-24-hours-check-in thing isn't a big deal, this article nicely summarizes one potential problem: http://penny-arcade.com/report/article/my-internet-connection-is-fine-microsoft.-im-worried-about-yours

I'd say the probability of people trying to hack the Xbox One network is especially high considering the backlash against just about everything we know about it.

dmaul seems like the ultimate casual gamer.
I wouldn't got that far. I quit buying CoD games after MW3, and am sick of yearly sequel franchises and stale ideas in general. I hate motion controls and games like Wii Fit/Kinect adventures etc. So I don't think I'm the ultimate/typical casual gamer who's perfectly fine with where the industry is at and where it is going.

I'm just more causal in that I like the experience more than the gameplay (assuming the gameplay isn't terrible--it does need to be fun of course.), don't like challenging games etc. I just want to veg out, get lost in virtual experience, and absorb a story in a way that's different from movies, tv shows or books. So gameplay does matter, I just don't get a lot of enjoyment out of games that are only gameplay, with little atmosphere, story etc. I.e. I can't play puzzle games for more than a few minutes as they don't immerse me and can't hold my interest. Fighting games don't interest me unless they have a strong story mode like Injustice. And so on.

My ideal games are things like Uncharted (and presumably last of us), Gears of War, Mass Effect, Skyrim etc. Games that have good stories, immersive worlds, and fun gameplay where I can get lost for hours at a time.

While I won't say I don't think you'll enjoy The Last of Us, I do think it's worth pointing out that general impressions so far have been pointing towards The Last of Us being more survival horror and less Uncharted. The Giant Bomb review for instance said "The Last of Us plays like Naughty Dog internalized the biggest design criticisms leveled against its last franchise and set out to make the anti-Uncharted." Personally, that's what I was hoping, but not expecting, to hear. I like a game where you actually have to conserve ammo and choose your fights wisely.

I didn't mean it as a bad thing, I get where you're coming from, mang.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that I think it will play like Uncharted.

I was just listing examples of games that are heavy on story, characters, setting/atmosphere etc. The combat in Uncharted is nothing special--the shooting isn't nearly as good (IMO) as Gears of War. But I enjoy the stories, characters, settings and set pieces/actions scenes (like the horseback chase in 3).

I'm stoked for The Last of Us because of all the reviews harping on the story, setting/atmosphere, characters, emotional impact etc. I don't mind having to conserve ammo, avoid fights etc. As long as a game isn't frustratingly difficulty, I can enjoy most types of gameplay as long as the story, setting etc. are keeping me immersed.

It was Patrick who wrote that review though, who isn't a reviewer by trade.

But he is a dude who is totally into survival-horror games so see that he really dug it helps.

5 more minutes for that Marvel Heroes.

Should I pick Hawkeye or should I pick Hawkeye?
We can play together someday and both be Hawkeye, we'll be the Hawk Bros!
I unlocked Storm after the prologue.

This gives me incentive to buy Mohawk Storm.

I heard a rumor.

I heard a rumor that Sony's presentation will consist entirely of a group if Japanese businessmen standing on stage laughing hysterically while Microsofts's press event plays on a giant tv.

I haven't done the prologue yet in the main game, nice to see you got a character you would like to play as though. Also shows how their plan works, oh you got the person you like? Now buy the costume you like! Give us moneyz!!!!

Y'know...

Shuhei said, flat out, that the PS4 would support used games.

Microsoft's platform says NOTHING about playing used games, only about trading/selling to participating retailers.

Unless they have some process to restore that disc to "new" status so that it comes with a license that isn't tied to the trader's account, XBone won't play a disc someone traded to GameStop or another retailer.  PS4 supposedly plays used games... so take that for what you will.  It could've changed by now, but we'll know for sure on Monday night.

Well isn't it kinda assumed if you can trade used games its assumed you can play them?
You might think so, but you could be wrong.

XBone is basically a digital platform. The discs are just a method to get the game -- don't want to download 40gb on the day of release? Drive to Best Buy and get a physical disc. Get home, pop it in, associate it to your account. Now the disc is useless. Nobody else can use it to install, your game is on the cloud and associated with your account. So if the system DRM policies are set to make the disc useless after the initial install so you can't just give it to all your friends for free. So unless the game can magically be reverted to "new" status in the Xbox database of games and licenses, which a retailer like GameStop would need to verify before giving you any credit, there is no way to play used games.

Here, think of it this way. You can't use GF with the XBone the way the new DRM policies are stated -- the first person to rent it would permanently own the game. Then what? You send the disc back to gamefly and nobody else can use it. So unless, as I stated above, there's a way to revert the game's status to "new" when you trade it into a "participating retailer", used games aren't likely.

If the above is true, I'd guess the trade in/selling would work like gamersgate -- where you can somehow trade in your license and disassociate it from your account to Microsoft (or maybe GS online or something if properly integrated) which will get you credit you can then use to purchase a different license. The question, again, is can the license be restored to a particular disc after it has been associated with an account, and if so, how do these participating retailers verify it so they can accept the trade in. It all depends on that for the XBone.

this is a hideous fucking website
Even with the dark theme it's pretty hard to read now. Visually it looks like there's too much going on.
I actually think I like it better than the old version -- it's cleaner to me... I find it easier to read now that my retinas aren't burning out of my eyeballs. I just wish I could fix my posts per page now.

At last testing, ignored posters are very understated and I had to try very hard to find any evidence of a post existing... it's very well done, IMO. I'm digging it.

I think the character they give you after the prologue is just another one of the starters.

I don't actually want Storm, I just think it's awesome that Mohawk Storm is a costume.

Now that you say it I think she was one of the starters lol, I haven't played it in a while and I probably wont use her anyway so I guess I forgot that :p. And gotcha, maybe one day you'll get uber lucky and actually get that costume as a drop with like that .0000010% of that happening!

I blame the pixelated background.

hehe, are you using the dark background now? I thought it went pretty well with it and felt that since CAG changed and a bunch of people are changing their names that I could change something as well.

I could post like this so that the people with a white background have fun reading it.
