This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Damn...X Rebirth is getting absolutely torched in reviews/user score on metacritic. I saw a few trailers and was really looking forward to it. Hopefully in a few months they'll have the game fixed, at the time being it's a broken mess.

Nothing for me this weekend from amazon or steam. I either own it already or its still to expensive. But I'm actually glad. I need to catch up on a few things and finish a couple of games.

Hmmmm, so how is Arma II on Steam? I have it on Amazon with Combined Ops or whatever, but seems like the 80% off pricing on the complete packs might be the cheapest to get the DLC. Any issues with running DayZ on Steam?
It's fine now, it was a little annoying at first getting them to work together, but it's a lot easier now, especially if you use something like DayZ commander. I'm not sure if you already had to do the same with the non steam version, but make sure to launch Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead once before installing DayZ or it can mess up the install.

The alpha for the standalone DayZ is actually supposed to be coming out soon, in a week or so.

Well there's nothing mind blowing, but when you consider stuff like Walking Dead 400 Days for $1.25 (cheapest it will likely be) and then you get $5 credit for January that might potentially score you a free game then it's hard to complain.

Edit:

Tropico 4 Voodoo DLC for $1.25 is another potentially sweet deal.

Double Edit:

Actually all the Tropico 4 DLC might be ripe for credit mining.
I am missing these but don't see them on the sale list:

The Academy: not found on Amazon so there ya go

Propaganda: http://www.amazon.com/Tropico-Propaganda-Online-Game-Code/dp/B00FM6C9SI/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1385058158&sr=1-1&keywords=tropico+4+propaganda

X Rebirth will be fine by the time it hits 75% off

How's Arma 2 single player. I don't know if I'll be playing MP, since I don't have friends who play it and Arma 3 is out there...
I wasnt a fan. The controls are somewhat complex, and trying to do stuff while also giving your AI teammates orders was a pain. MP is where it is at in my book. And not DayZ. I play on private servers with people I know and we do Dynamic Zombie Sandbox, Domination, and some other popular MP mods.

Noob question, as I'm seeing some comments about the 5$ credit, I can have a bazillion codes but I can only put it once a game in january right?

If it's like last year, there is no code, it's a promo credit tied to your account. And since Amazon DVG doesn't have a cart feature, it's one purchase at a time anyway.

I was just reading this: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/21/wot-i-think-x-rebirth/

Just keep playing Albion Prelude till Rebirth is "fixed" (through from what I can tell Rebirth is quire a redesign so it won't be the same experience). Even worse, from what people are saying, some of the problems with Rebirth are with the core design so it may not be possible actually fix those.

I've seen Max Payne franchise for $15, then $13, and now MP3 for $7.  It's only a matter of time before somebody sells the whole shebang for $10.  And then (MysterD mode) I can get rid of my MP2 copy from retail.

Just to break up the Amazon discussion for a second, I finally gambled on The Huge Seal:

Bought

Trine $2

Toki-Tori $1.24

Reus $3.40

Got

La-Mulana

Could have been worse, but I don't particularly want it so if anyone wants to trade...

EDIT: Swapped with NvaderJim for Skulls of the Shogun ^_^

The one cool thing about it (going from years past) is that the credit can be used in conjunction with sometimes really steeply discounted games, resulting in games available for ridiculously cheap or free. It's a pretty neat gimmick that has worked well in the past, but it all depends on what games they place in the group eligible for use with credit.

Yeah, and along those lines, if when the EC list is up and you see a game that ends up being free, grab it immediately. Last year, the free games were supposed to be nixxed, but some fat fingering ( ;) ) caused the Bioshock pack and Hotline Miami to be free when they first popped up.

Not that I condone such acts of exploitation.

No love for Rage? I had a really fun time with it when I finally played the game and its DLC last year. The shooting feels great, weapons are good, enemies are fun to shoot at. It also looks incredible. The ending does suck badly, however. Maybe because I didn't play it at launch I was not affected by the hype, the bugs and the disappointment in the world (which is kinda big but there's nothing to explore). As a traditional shooter it was a lot of fun.

Isn't Skyrim Legendary just Game + DLC + Steam Update (ie, isn't the "Legendary" portion available to base game free anyways?). Or am I wrong?
yes, you right, but that's a pretty damn good deal...not being on sale, the dlc will run you 45 bucks. Even if the dlc was 75% off (which it hasn't ever been, i don't think) it would cost you around 12 bucks.

I'm about to take the plunge for Hugeseal haha.  What bundle did everyone get all these Shadowgrounds keys from?  I feel tempted to use the 80% coupons for those games but I'm not sure if I'd ever play them.  I'm currently eyeing the Giana expansion (loved and completed the base game) and Trine 1.  I was considering Shadowgrounds or its expansion for the third... which is the better game?

Yes, the base game now has the legendary difficulty and skills/skill resets if that's what you mean. Bethesda could have very well called it a GOTY edition, but I believe the "Legendary" tie in has to do with the in-game Max Smithing status of Legendary.

Pinball F/X Humble Weekly.

Ugh.

Why must you tempt me? I already own these on the 360 and PS3/Vita.
Eh, no real interest in playing real or fake pinball. I was hoping for the PopCap weekly. :whistle2:(

Now I'm thinking about whether I want to buy any of the BI games that are on sale. I'm tempted by the Take On stuff but I tried the helicopters demo the other day and the KB+M controls aren't too good.

Just so you're aware, Drabe found that if you select both Gianna coupons from HugeSeal, you can apply the 80% off coupon to the bundle and it will register as 2 games bought.

You need a thrustmaster:

Also, not convinced I'll pinball much myself, but the $1 tier will probably be mine for compulsion's sake.

That seems a bit odd: it's a tie-in with an A&E TV show, yet they say they're going to give it away? That leads be to believe that it's either a farce... or just a terrible game.
Probably a terrible game. But hey.. I'll take a free copy to up my steam count, and for potential cards.

I never liked pinball growing up. I never had any interest in it in digital format. Then the Zen tables went on sale over the summer and I decided to try them out. I now have Pinball FX on my phone, iPad, Xbox and of course Steam.

That's what the missus tells me all the time.

EDIT: Not that I can afford to buy either one, but can't I get away with something like this?

That is definitely a lot more phallic:

Excellent, then I will pass. I'm sure the DLC will hit 75% at some point if it hasn't already.

Also, CAG facebook page says Dead Island Franchise Pack is $12.50...but...
