I think the success of the PS4 has also probably had a positive impact on the Vita. My one wish is that it eventually outsells the 3DS, I realize that seems crazy but I have a feeling if it ever hits $150 it will see a crazy spike in sales. Or if they release a 3000 version that uses micro sd or something.

As is though it's the handheld I've been waiting for since the original Gameboy released back in the day and the best one to date hands down. I've already finished more games on it than I did on the DS and to me that's saying something. I bring it with me everyday. So fuck ing good.
pstv is going to cut into the vita's numbers, but i'd like to see the same. happy to see more people getting on board with the system. hopefully it will light a fire under sony's ass to get back to it. i think lack of stock since the borderlands bundle has really hurt the system too. i have a walmart around me sitting on one blands bundle, but nobody else around me has any.

Actually I could see PS TV helping boost Vita sales. If somebody grabs PS TV for cheap and gets invested in the games and RP, having a portable version could be pretty appealing at that point.

But yeah, if they don't start stocking the things then they're definitely not going to sell well. :wall:

Well Sony could do the Nintendo thing and just combine the sales like with the DS, DSi, etc. Technically they are pretty much the exact same system except for the obvious differences. Yeah I think people were starting to get on board around the time of The Borderlands bundle but Sony dropped the ball again. I really wouldn't mind seeing a few more 1st party exclusives before the day is done on the Vita but I think the system will have some long legs and be around for quite awhile, at least until Nintendo shows it has something new or better, which spec-wise I doubt they will. Come on Nintendo, better resolution please!

The system will only be 3 this Feb. so they could do yet another push if they wanted to. It would be nice to see Sony grab the torch and run with it since the indies have been bullish on the system. I've had mine since launch and it's the most use I've gotten out of any handheld.

You guys are nuts. The new 3DS is going to crush the Vita in sales. It won't even be close.
Not unless Nintendo starts announcing some new games. I don't even think the 3rd party support has been as good as it was for the DS. It could be there just aren't a lot of games that appeal to me on the system but I feel like they blew their wad already. In general the 3DS has been quite a huge letdown for me.

Therm's post is from one developer, if that wasn't clear lol. Did people enjoy RCR? Lol I tried but couldn't stand it after a while. I'm not even sure what they're trying to say with this info. And I can't tell if they're including revenue from PS+, as that is where most of their "sales" came from.

I don't think Vita will sell anywhere near as many units as the 3DS. 3DS is in a similar price bracket, but I don't think people buy Vita for kids and that's where a lot of the 3DS/2DS sales originate.

Good question. I don't know. I actually don't think so. If you look at the Paid Units Sold + PS Plus graph for 360 and Playstation, then look at the Revenue graph for 360 and Playstation, they both about double in size. So it might be safe to assume that the revenue is only from Playstation sales and not including whatever money he made from Plus.

Bigger takeaway for me is that the Playstation outsold 3DS, Wii, and 360 combined! Even after 280,000 Playstation owners got the game for free from Plus.

And said sale has arrived. https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=SQUARE%20ENIX%20Co.%2CLtd.&hl=en

I think I'm going to buy a chromecast after work and cash in.
sweet, looks like i'm finally getting ff dimensions.

yeah, i'd count them together too. it sucks that they're just letting the vita flop. it's an incredible piece of tech with way more potential than just a ps4 remote play machine. i think if they dropped to somewhere between regular 3ds and 3ds xl, and dropped the price on the memory cards some, they'd be in better shape. maybe some new colors/design bundles like nintendo puts out every 2 weeks.

Ya, I was already invested with the PSP GO and the free Vita games from PS+ is why I decided to pick a PSTV up as I didn't really have a use for another portable system at this time, especially with how expensive it is.

Steam Winter sale starts in 35 minutes. You console-only nerds miss out on the crazy shit that happens on the PC side. Stuff like this can be a lot of fun:

3DS has already crushed vita in sales and will continue to do so. The "new" 3ds won't play a major factor in that, once the launch hype wears off.
I know of the small changes and some are for the better but the "new" 3ds screams DSi to me. I was thinking of getting the new smaller one because I can't stand the awkwardness of holding my 3DS XL, (feels lopsided weight wise and hate how the screen has wobble to it) but with titles like Shovel Knight coming to the Vita I'm thinking it might just not make any sense for me. The only titles I really want to play currently is the new Zelda and maybe Majora when it releases.

$179.99 or $174.99 would be a good idea.

Nope, hated it. I remember the layout of the controls not being very good, the change in gameplay styles not being fun at all, and the references (the best part of the game) being mildly amusing. Maybe they fixed some of the annoyances in the DX version, I certainly am not paying to find out.

I did the PC gaming thing for a little while like I've mentioned in the past. Steam sales are great the first few years you have a gaming PC and you get super excitied, but then a lot of the same titles keep getting discounts, then you just wait for humble bundles, then you quit PC gaming.

I was referring to the hype. It'd be cool if there were mega PSN sales that got the same kind scale and attention that Steam manages to pull off.

I think I've almost built up an immunity to Steam sales at this point, they have slashed prices to the bone so many times that nothing sounds like a good deal on PC anymore, especially with humble bundles in the mix now.

It's been a while since I bought many games off Steam. I generally have been grabbing them off traders here on CAG who get the games from other regions. More games have been region-locked lately, though, so that's been an issue, and from what I'm reading Steam turned off cross-region trading within the past few days in order to prevent the crashing Russian dollar from being an issue. Steam sale discount + region discount has given me some absolutely amazing deals over the past year or so and I'm a bit bummed about the change.

If you build it they will come. Seeing as we are probably among the most devote playstation fans maybe were just being lazy. Or maybe we have better stuff to do with our time than make dumb youtube videos? Not sure which.

Based on the stupid shit we spend our time talking about in here I'm pretty sure that we don't have better things to do with our time. :whistle2:

The sale environment around PC gaming is just so much more pronounced than console sales. The closest console gets to a huge event is Black Friday which is nice but really doesn't compare in focus. That's what I was commenting on with the posts of the videos--not on the content of the sales themselves.

Regarding the same titles going on sale over and over again, though, we do see the same behavior on console as well. How many times has the Atlus library been on sale now?

All good points. I just got Blue Estate for $4 though so I'm happy.

I think it's also because PC gaming is almost 100% digital at this point and not to mention that STEAM controls about 95% of that. With consoles you have PSN, XBOX store, and the eshop. Retail also still plays a massive role. I think with PC it's all very focused on one place STEAM. I know there is GOG, EA's garbage and the like but it's a fraction of the market. So everyone is tuned into STEAM specifically. It creates that focus by default.

So I played Binding of Isaac last night on the Vita and it plays great on the system.  It took me lots of tries to get the hang of the game but it grows on you after each and every death.

Yes I mention BoI and it wasn't Ender!

1. It's a wonderful life
2. Home Alone
3. Elf
4. Christmas Story
5. Bad Santa

Done.
I like how a movie about wether or not some dude should kill himself is considered to be the best Christmas movie.

Seriously though, I haven't seen it.

And this list can't really be taken seriously if Christmas Vacation isn't on it.

In the spirit of Christmas, here's this:

Portal 2 - Baby It's Space Outside: http://youtu.be/BR5sWq6ONws

I haven't watched it yet but since it's Portal it's gotta be awesome.

Why is Kate Upton so fucking hot? I feel like it should be impossible and against all laws of nature for a person to be that attractive.

In before Therm tells us all the things he hates about her. Her elbows are probably pointy, or her hair is half an inch too long or something.

I think xmas vacation is great, but I blame my family for it not being a classic for me. It was never part of the usual xmas movies we watched growing up because my parents didn't care for it so we didn't watch it a million times, or at all when I was younger. I'd put it at #6 though!

Oh, And you have no say if you've never seen it's a wonderful life.

The only thing I dislike about Kate Upton is seeing pictures of her when I'm not alone.
