To clarify I was talking about the doors, locks, and circuit mini-games altogether. They were just too repetitive to me. Once you've figured out how to open the 1st set of doors or circuits, there wasn't anything else to learn or get out of it so I just found it as forced for the sake of mixing up gameplay. If anything, the gameplay just felt slower to me in general. Although I'll agree that categorizing it as strictly QTE's is technically wrong. It's the button prompting that I just felt could have been more challenging unlike a typical QTE where you don't know exactly where to expect it (i.e. location/button) and have to do it within a certain timeframe. GoW was just simplying a sequence of attacks within a few button prompts. I don't recall it requiring a significant amount of buttons to pull off any particular QTE. Maybe the bosses? But boss fights were one of the highlights and strengths of the game anyway.
I wished they had a MP mode for this game. As a huge Gears fan, I think I would have enjoyed it more.
