If nothing else, the Owens thing is gonna be a pretty fascinating look at what happens when a Hunter guy has to suddenly be a Vince guy in 2015.

^ Your post just proves you can't please smart marks. Sorry, guy.
I hope I'm wrong, as I think they could have good things with Owens. I'm just basing my comment off of WWE's history with a guy that does well, they do good with it for a bit and then just dump it to the wayside.

I don't know... Owens seems to be Hunter's guy so why they'd push him so far and fast just to dump him wouldn't make much sense. Also I don't think Owens losing at MITB wouldn't really hurt him, it would just set it up for the feud to continue on until Summerslam.
Losing at Summerslam wont hurt him at all. It's all in how they follow through with it and any guy who has had to lose to Cena in a blowoff match they haven't executed well in the past.

This 100%.

Don't worry, Cena will get his win back in two weeks. I guess they could do something where Joe shows up to cost him to let him save face, but I have my doubts since they had him pin Cena clean.

I mean, if I'm going to force myself to be optimistic I'll say that will then lead to a rubber match that Owens wins, but I guess that'll depend on whether this news about Owens now officially being on the main roster is accurate.
I dunno. I think Owens dominates the second match too. Maybe Cena wins by DQ, but Owens doesn't straightout lose.

I wonder if there is anything with Austin/ Lesnar at WrestleMania, or if the end of the podcast was just Austin and Heyman screwing with everyone.

Someone was speculating the "fire the writers" text Heyman got actually came from Austin. That would be pretty amusing.

Austin is huge. Not sure if he's training for his TV show or what, but he looks in "wrestling shape."

I don't really understand Cena's promo from last night:

"Kevin Owens, you're a great wrestler, but you don't deserve anything from being so great!"
"You beat me last night, Owens, but I'm still better than you!"

fucking huh?

"I was going to come out here and just hand you the belt that represents everything I love... but I changed my mind because you're being a dick. HEY LOOK, A KID WITH CANCER WHO I CAN EXPLOIT!"

Vintage Cena.

Watched Raw today for first time since week or so after Wrestlemania. First off I was surprised, pretty decent show. Second though I just felt like a dick when Russev appeared and I could not help but think Russev Crutch!

Any views on if Ring of Honor is worth tossing down $20 (quarterly sub cost) to binge watch old programing? Never really watched any RoH but I know a lot of guys I really respect and enjoy like Austin Aries and Jay Lethal have floated through RoH at diferent points and I also LOVE the Brisco Brothers promos I have watched.

Seems a good time to finally pull the trigger with Destination American programing about to start. Looks like all their programing from 2011 to current programing is available too.

Edit - Also all NXT matches from start to current are on WWE network right? If I dont go for RoH tempted to watch those, was loving NXT for the bit I watched it....just hate to toss ANY money towards the WWE right now.
Then do what I do & watch on Hulu (just started watching NXT.) Hulu even has all the old reality show NXT episodes, Main Event, new ECW, etc.

So ...what was the point of Wade winning King of the Ring if he's going to lose matches this soon? For crying out loud, he was the first person eliminated at the PPV.

Then they have Roman Reigns winning 3 matches in the same night like past KOTR winners use to (first person he beats: Wade Barrett).    That made me madder than anything Cena said on Raw.

Also regarding John Cena:

At Wrestlemania 29, John Cena defeats The Rock and ends his winning streak.

At Wrestlemania 30, John Cena defeats Bray Wyatt and ends his winning streak.

At Wrestlemania 31, John Cena defeats Alexander Rusev and ends his winning streak.

Are they going to wait until WM 32 to end Kevin Owens' streak?

Well, Kevin Owens is only 1-0 on the main roster so far, so that's not really a streak. And The Rock had lost hundreds of matches before he ever faced Cena.

Of course I know that. I'm referring to Rock's 2011 return where he won every match he was booked in until Wrestlemania 29. Hell, Cena beat Lesnar as soon as he came back in 2012.

I'm just wondering how long it will take for "Cena Wins LOL" to affect Owens.

Cena and Owens at Wrestlemania 32 is a long shot at best. This feud will have run it's course well before Wrestlemania and both guys will be involved in entirely different programs. I imagine Cena will win the match at Money in the Bank and the next special event will be the rubber match and end of this feud. I think once Sami Zayn is cleared to compete again, he'll come straight to the main roster to continue his feud with KO, that feud is pure money.

At this rate, he'll eclipse Billy Gunn as the worst KOTR winner ever, and that's a mighty feat cause he lost a kiss my ass match a month after winning the tournament.

I really think Owens will beat Cena at MITB. It would make sense as they seem to be pushing Owens pretty hard, as it's well deserved. I can't wait to see more of these NXT stars on the main roster.

Mabel was so much worse in my opinion. At least Billy Gunn was a mediocre worker. But Billy Gunn was a terrible king. That whole tournament sucked. When Billy Gunn vs. X-Pac is your final, something is wrong.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the EC3 celebration. Kurt's gobsmacked face ruled. Lashley vs. EY was okay. Ditto the Dollhouse skit. Lashley vs. EY was fine, but nothing memorable. Brooke vs. Jade was okay fanservice, while The BDC vs. The Rising wasn't much, but got over a finisher for the faces. The Storm-Mickie stuff got really dark with her being pushed onto train tracks. Everything with Spud and EC3 was great. Wolves-Heels III was pretty good, but not as good as last week's match. The Velvet-Love stuff is fine uninentional comedy. Main event was every other holla holla tag match ever.

Wade is half-assing this King thing; his tights look like underwear and he's literally using the stock crown, cape and scepter. He needs to add some originality and stop letting 6th grade art classes dictate what his tights look like.

Give him a dark cape, a black, twisted crown and a staff or something. Make him a villain, not some stock Britt who just says "BOOM" all the damn time. Do it with some flair (woo) or don't do it at all.

He needs to STOP using Wasteland, it's an awful move. Have him start pinning people with Winds of Change once in awhile or give him a submission finish or something. His entire schtick went from him being BNB on the mic to "LOOK BULLHAMMER BOOM"

Also: Wade is up there with the elite guys who constantly choose AWFUL entrance themes.  It's not Corre-level bad but it's close.

Unrelated side-note: They need to give Sheamus Test pants. Nothing says Celtic Bad Ass like tights with a giant O on his crotch.

I know it seems like I'm focusing on wrestler's crotch area but I drank last night and it's before noon with only half a cup of coffee. Don't judge me.

Yeah, Barrett using the Wal-Mart crown and scepter needs to stop yesterday. Dude looks hopeless right now.
It doesn't help that he has lost virtually every match he's had since becoming the King of the Ring either. I think Barrett needs to have his own stable, he was most interesting as the leader of Nexus when he debuted. I'd love to see Barrett lead a stable with a heel Neville, Paige, and maybe throw in someone from NXT like Oliver Grey (assuming he is still under contract).

I don't like his current theme but "End of Days" was a badass theme, he never should've changed from that.

Which version of "End of Days"? The Corre went through about 4 remixes in 3 months. I did like the second Corre theme and enjoy Barrett's current theme.

So I saw that Justin Roberts said he was going to write a book about his experiences with the WWE.  If it includes a lot of juicy details I can this being a worthwhile read.  I always wanted to hear about the backstage stories and drama that went on.  I imagine some of it was even more interesting that what they put out on TV.

He's super bitter about WWE, maybe more than any other I've seen that has left. He also has a huge grudge against Triple H. He seems to think he was a bigger deal than just being a ring announcer. It's not like he was Finkel.

JTG wrote a ebook about heat in WWE.

Like, motherfucker, you have NOTHING to be astonished about, other than how you remained on the payroll for so long while contributing literally nothing to the product. They didn't even bother sending you back to OVW/FCW/NXT to brush up your skills.

WWE is far from perfect as a company, but some folks help protect the company by being so bitter or delusional about their place in the company. Tom Zenk was another one of those guys. Or am I thinking of Paul Roma? Like a TOTAL shit talker, utterly insane motherfucker what thinks they should have been Ric Flair when they were more Barry Horowitz.

Terry Taylor is a dude who should hold a grudge, as the Red Rooster did hinder his in-ring growth potential (not as if "The York Foundation" was going to cause him to rocket into the stratosphere of popularity). He kept working, however. Kept his nose to the grindstone (what an awful phrase) and is working in the office now, successfully transitioning from frontstage to backstage.

People that talk massive amounts of shit about wrestlers or federations/promotions make me uninterested in their work. I give Cornette a pass because he doesn't do it to be vindictive (and he's fucking awesome)

The list is generally:

1.) Shane Helms

2.) Honky Tonk Man

3.) New Jack

4.) Shane Douglas

There are more or course, just the few that pop-up instantly in my mind that I cannot stand. Iron Shiek doesn't make the list because I seriously believe his rants are all apart of his promotion machine.

I didn't know Shane Helms was a bitter dude, but I can't recall hearing much from him.

Shane Douglas' interview with Cabana was really good and made the dude seem sensible, but I'm sure he had the capacity to turn into "The Franchise" in a moment's notice.

To be fair I feel that Douglas was horribly underutilized in both the WWF and WCW .

He didn't seem all that bitter on Austins either. He put a lot on himself. He did talk shit about some of the people in WWE and the whole Dean Douglas thing, but he didn't sound vindictive or bitter.

He was a joke in WWF as Dean Douglas and in WCW he was pushed pretty heavy for awhile towards the end with the Natural Born Thrillers, but it didn't last long (like everything in 99-2001 era WCW).

Came across this down a YouTube hole, sorry if this is old news. I remember some interview with Cena where he said he recorded a heel theme in case they made him a bad guy during the Rock feud. This was the first I've known about it being our there. It's nothing special but sort of an interesting footnote in rasslin history.

Apparently some rumors flying around about NXT working together with EVOLVE. Drew Galloway about to get released twice over.

Fun "Konk"-Taryn stuff. X Title things were a bit goofy. Loved everything with Grado. Well, his match wasn't very good - but his skits were. Bram-Crimson overdelivered by leaps and bounds. Crimson has good moves, and Bram has an incredible presence about him. Angle-Aries was excellent - not a match of the year, but on the ballot for match of the night for sure.

Loved loved loved loved loved Jushin and THE BOYS! Also, Mark's promo about being a wrestler half his damn life and picking an ostrich in a bird fight. Main event was a fine angle-driven match to build up a PPV match.

Shockingly, things with Chavo were kinda boring. EVERY fuckING THING INVOLVING DRAGO RULED. Every vignette they shot of him looked cool. Ditto Catrina's cleavage. Holy Jesus - can we nominate her breasts as tag team of the year? The fatal four way was non-stop craziness, and I'm looking forward to Mundo-Puma. It's a shame the company does a great job at building stips and then IMMEDIATELY undoes the good at times, but the end result should still be good, so I'm somewhat okay with it.
