Yeah, I've been using 12thplayer just for its ease of access to all sports. But their links have been kind of shitty lately.

That NHL Games program is dope as balls though. Really nice GUI, lots of settings options, and you can run it through VLC or MPC. It literally is NHL.tv too. You can access archived games. Seriously...it is the shit.

That said...YAY, I get to use it one more time, haha. Nashville forces game 7 despite the refs best efforts to blow the Ducks with bullshit penalties (Mattias Ekholm got put in a headlock and dragged down...then pushed the guy away as he got up and got called for "interference").

And now...I will reward myself with ice cream. :lol:

Yeah, Nashville just has to come out and set the tone. They have to expect that Anaheim is going to come out with more intensity, and the Preds can't just sit back and let that happen. Aggressive forecheck, hustle, beating them to loose pucks. Doing the little things is going to be the difference maker.

In other news...I'm super pumped for both the new Mirror's Edge and the new Homefront. I've been playing the Mirror's Edge beta and it's really fun. The game still flows just as well as it ever did, and really, no game since has matched it in the movement department. Ido Portal would be proud, haha.

And this trailer for Homefront looks great. As long as it's more of the same from the first game, I'll be happy with it (really, that applies to Mirror's Edge too). It might not be the best shooter ever, but the story and setting are just awesome.

Garbage compared to what though? Even a highly praised game like The Division is full of bugs and issues. Games just are what they are these days. If the concept appeals to you, you just overlook the shortcomings. Isn't that what we do with NHL every single year? haha

 
I have the full beta as I was lucky enough to get picked for it. It runs like a hot mess. It's just.....think of the worst xbox one game out right now, times that by two. It's that bad sadly.

It's like a horrible movie with an awesome trailer. All the good parts are in the trailer.

Hm, looks like they revealed a HUT mechanic in the trailer. At 0:46, our good friend Fiddler makes an appearance on the Gold Coach Trade In screen. Sounds like you can combine 10 Gold Level coaches into a better coach tier...which also means Gold isn't going to be the best tier anymore?

Seriously though...give us details. How does it run bad? Framerate? Collision detection? What problems does it have that the first game didn't have?

It runs at 30 FPS but will dip down to 15 easily for no reason and sometimes even a horrible 10. The screen tearing is just ricidlous. The marksman rifle feels like your running with an anti tank rifle and the sounds are just off and horrible. Enemies spawn in your field of view out of no where. Can't pick up enemies weapons. Controls are the clunkiest I have ever played with. Also, yes it is worse than Fighter Within. Sadly, that's all I can say right now.

Also, from what I have been reading about HUT, It's going to be more like MUT with better collections.

Yeah, I saw his original tweets the other night. HIlarious. St. Louis is bringing him out for a game too, I guess. Must be nice, lol.

Pre-hockey tonight anyone? Not sure when I'll be around tomorrow since the Preds game starts right around our hockey time.

 
The PC version of Forza goes into open beta on May 5th. I guess the game is going to have 63 cars, 20 tracks...and no online multiplayer (outside of the drivatar stuff). The game also won't have wheel support at launch... They've also said that VR support isn't on their to-do list at the moment.

I'm hoping this leads to bigger things down the road in terms of cross platform play and the whole UWP system. But they've got a long way to go to making it relevant on PC. As is, the only people it will probably appeal to are ones who already played the game on XB1.

Did Xbox Live just take a massive dump for anyone else? After it kicked me from the party, it wouldn't let me rejoin. I tried to start a party and it told me "This is blocked". I hard power cycled...and now it tells me I'm not connected to Xbox Live, but also says that my internet connection is fine. The Xbox Live status site seems to indicate that everything is normal...

To the best of my knowledge, I have not done anything to get suspended again, haha.

Sorry I haven't been around this weekend, guys. On top of the Preds series and Mother's Day, it's also mine and my wife's anniversary. So, I've barely been home the past two days. Last night, I ended up just crashing early.

Not sure about tonight. The game is about to start now, so if anything it'll be late. Busy freaking weekend, man.

Yeah, I got to 30 last weekend. Brandon and I finished off the last remaining missions I had and briefly went into the dark zone. Basically everybody goes rogue now, so it's pretty much a dick fest. The first time we went to extract some stuff, we came across a guy as a chopper was coming in, did jumping jacks to show him we meant no harm...and he mows both of us down mid-calisthenic. Then we notice he's super high level...so he REALLY needed my DZ 05 stuff. Just complete ass baggery.

Also, Alan, that video....why? lol. It's funny, but man...that might be more annoying than the actual alarm, haha. They should have used a cool dubstep beat or something. Could have turned the bank into a club. :lol:

Hm, what Gear Score are you guys at? I guess I've been lucky, and have seldom run into Rouges on PC- if anything, have actually had more experiences running into other solo people and eventually getting into 4-man PUGS.

As for the alarm...more incentive to not fuck up stealth :p

 
I'd just really like to see some type of online league mode with viable options. For as many years as Madden has had a very solid online franchise mode, it's crazy that NHL has never managed anything remotely close to it. Even with as little traffic as CAG gets now, I'm sure we could still get at least 7-8 people in the league (probably more...but 7-8 reliable ones for sure).

It would be so awesome to have a 20 game season, with trades, playoffs, offseason free agency, and a rookie draft. On a basic level, that's probably all you'd need. And if they can't manage that, then at least put the simple tournament back in the game.

I should be on. Whether we want to do Division...or make the Bump and Grinders.

The only hockey/hotdog team name I could think of was 3rd Line Wieners. Not sure if that would even pass the censor though.
 
I loved trading. It's my favorite part of playing is acting as a GM. I wish they did it like Madden where you can raise and lower prices. Best thing ever for me.

Also, looks like Draft mode is making it in. That will at least be awesome.
 
Rocket League cross platform play between PC and XB1 goes live today. Many are speculating that XB1/PS4 cross play isn't far behind. I've seen some articles reporting on that like it's a done deal, but they seem to be more obscure "gaming news" sites. So, I'm guessing they're jumping the gun a bit. According to Gamespot, there's still some negotiating to do.

Wow...that would be pretty awesome...and a great boost for Oculus. I'm not sure how they're doing because things have been pretty ugly with the launch so far. They've been a couple months behind on order fulfillment, and the Oculus Store has been heavily criticized. And they just patched the hack that allowed Vive users to play Oculus exclusives.

Meanwhile, on the Vive side, Valve has almost totally opened up the platform. In edition to supporting the Rift and other VR headsets in SteamVR games, they've also added support for the Razer Hydra so you can play the motion control/room scale games too. But since Hydras went out of production years ago and are now stupid expensive, what some really smart people are doing is getting PS Move controllers to emulate the Razer Hydra...which then works in SteamVR.

I've been testing it out for a few weeks now, and while there are some kinks to work out, it's pretty great using my not "not supported" Rift DK2 and "not supported" PS Move controllers as though they're an $800 HTC Vive, haha. :)
