Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD FABLE JUST SHIT TOOK A MASSIVE SHIT DOWN OPTIC'S THROAT! Unbelievable!
Was that on one of the alternate streams? They had that match on the main one for a little while, but switched when it was something like 6-6 on the first map. That Motiv8 team whipped them on the first map yesterday and were up like 4-1 on the second and them got stomped.

Also watching the Phillies game on another laptop and Dinosaurus! on Svengoolie. Haven't seen that movie in a LONG time.

I don't know, I was switching between playing and watching the stream. Next thing I know, Fable wins the match 2-0 and they pretty much dominated the second round. I can't believe someone actually sent Optic to the loser's bracket.

Question - I found an ad on craigslist for xbox and ps4 games. I asked guy what he had for xbox, he said he burns games for $10 or $15 for new release, saying that before if one played burned games online they would get banned from xbox/psn, but now the licenses are ''on'' the disc. Have we got a scammer or is it true people are just burning and playing xbox games? I myself am only interested in wrapped, real games or digital codes ftr.

Maybe it's true maybe it's not but my advice is don't do it as it's not worth risking your account getting banned.

Burning anything on disc and redistributing it while taking money for it yourself has always been illegal.

Thanks for all the answers. I went and preordered it. This is my 1st PS, I always went to my friend's house to play thier PS1 back in the 90s. Top games I'm looking to play are the GOW series, heavy rain, spider man, last of us, and uncharted series. Guys have any other recommendations?

sure, again burned games dont appeal to me, i have a digital and physical collection and burned games wouldn't fit well into that. and as you imply, a banned account would jeopardize what i built up so far.

i was really just wondering if this was a thing, i was under impression it couldn't be possible - sad on the developers part.

Until Dawn is stupid fun if you enjoy cheesy horror movies. Order 1886 you can usually find cheap, it's a short game, but I'm sure you can get it for $5 or less and it's a very good weekend game. Besides that if you're into Japanese games, goddamn, you're going to be busy for awhile. Dragon Quest Builders, Nier, Persona 5, Tales of..., Yakuza series all off the top of my head. Also if you haven't played BroForce you should hella download that. Regardless you'll be busy for awhile

I have the ad on my dashboard for the free month of Gold when you get a month of Game Pass, but I can't figure out how to activate it. It says only available through this ad (meaning not on xbox.com I'm guessing), but doesn't mention anywhere that you need to be a new member. When I click "Get Game Pass" it brings me to the list of GP games, then I hit manage and all it lets me do is change my payment method. I don't see any way to actually "buy" a month on the system. Anyone have any luck yet?

Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (it's a great remaster if you never played the PS2 version) are the only ones that haven't been mentioned that are absolutely worth a play, in my opinion.

I see people talking about the PS4 controller. I don't have a PS4 but I know when I've used the Dual Shock when playing CoD, at friends house in the past... I can't stand when I'm strafing right and turning my head left. My thumbs get to close to touching and it makes me remember that I like out of line thumb sticks.

Some of the indie stuff might be also on Xbox One or any other platforms you might own if I've forgotten what platforms they're on, so excuse me if I mess up on a few of these or mention things you could play on something else you own.

Alienation - Great dual-stick action RPG shooter from the wizards at Housemarque. It's Diablo in dual-stick shooter form.

Amplitude - Good rhythm game from Harmonix in the same vein as their original games

Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien - Great rhythm platformer with a ton of content and unlockables in it

Bloodborne - Action/Horror-focused game from the makers of Dark Souls

Cosmic Star Heroine - Love letter to classic JRPGs from the makers of Cthulu Saves the World.

Counterspy - Great stealth Metroid-style game set in the Cold War with a neat cover shooter mechanic.

Dragon Quest Builders - Minecraft-style game with the style and charm of Dragon Quest

Driveclub - Great racing game in an arcade/sim mixture like PGR that has a ton of content and looks great.

Escape Plan - Fun puzzle game where you help two prisoners escape and avoid the many traps in their way.

Everybody's Golf - Great cartoon-ish golf game

Everything - It's weird and stupid and cool and hard to explain. For weirdos only.

Fat Princess Adventures - More of a kid-friendly Diablo clone that is better than it probably should be.

Final Fantasy VII/IV/X,X-2/XII - Quite a few classic Final Fantasy games are on there if you've never played them before.

Final Fantasy XIV - Great MMO with plenty of nostalgia for long-time fans and has a free trial that lets you play quite a bit of it.

Flower - Great art game about environmentalism that still looks stunning.

Galak-Z - Really hard roguelite shooter that takes inspiration from 80's mech anime

Gravity Rush/2 - Gravity-bending open-world action game with a lot of collectibles that I'd liken a bit to Crackdown

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice - Good game about a woman going into Helheim while suffering from pscyhosis with the best audio design I've ever heard.

Hitman Go - A pure puzzle game that reimagines what Hitman would be like if it were a board game.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Great Far Cry/Witcher-esque open world RPG

Hotline Miami/2 - Great dual-stick action games that are brutally violent and incredibly fun when you make it through each level.

Infamous Second Son - Great super hero open world action-shooter.

Jak and Daxter - My favorite 3D platformer ever that I think is better than Super Mario 64.

Journey - Great co-op adventure game that does some amazing tricks to make the journey with strangers poignant and memorable.

Lara Croft Go - Similar to Hitman Go, this takes the core ideas of Tomb Raider and turns them into a turn-based puzzle adventure game.

LocoRoco - Great remaster of the original PSP game that is a fun platformer featuring cute blobs that sing along the way.

MLB The Show 18 - If you like baseball, this is the best, and mostly only, around.

Nex Machina - Might be the best dual-stick shooter around and is probably Housemarque's best work yet.

Nier Automata - Really cool action-RPG from a weird guy and Platinum Games that has a great story to it.

Nioh - Dark Souls-style action game set in ancient Japan that is really hard

Nom Nom Galaxy - Simulation game about building food production and farm systems to make a large variety of soup to beat the rival soup company.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir - Great side-scrolling action-RPG from Vanillaware with an amazing art style to it.

Patapon - Another great remaster of a rhythm strategy game where you tap buttons to the beat to give your troop instructions to lead them to victory.

Persona 5 - Great JRPG that mixes slice of life fun with dungeon crawling and Persona collecting/mating.

PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate - Great dual-stick puzzle shooter where you're shooting enemies as much as you've messing with fluids to solve puzzles and get around each level.

Polybius - The new Jeff Minter game that is a crazy, weird Tempest and old UK gaming nostalgia-inspired mayhem.

Pyre - Amazing sports RPG visual novel game from the team behind Bastion that is a lot of fun to play.

Ratchet & Clank - Great remake of the first game in the series that is one of the best action-platformers around.

Resogun - Another great Housemarque game that is highly inspired by Defender, much like how Nex Machina is inspired by Robotron 2048.

Salt & Sanctuary - The newest game from the Dishwasher Samurai creators that is their 2D take on Dark Souls. It's great.

Shadow of the Colossus - A great remake of an all-time classic action-adventure game. If you like this, The Last Guardian is that team's last game.

Spelunky - Yeah, the XBLA version is playable on Xbox One, but the PS4 version has many, many improvements that makes it a must have on PS4.

SteamWorld Dig 2 - An amazing Metroid-style game that improves a lot over the original with a big world to explore and a better upgrade system.

Stories: The Path of Destinies - A great action adventure game with a "Choose your own Adventure" style of story progression and good Batman-style combat.

Super Stardust Ultra - Another great dual-stick shooter from Housemarque that is a remake of their old Amiga game.

Tearaway Unfolded - Great adventure platformer from the LittleBigPlanet team

Toki Tori 2+ - Great Metroid-style puzzle game where you only have two actions (jump, chirp) that can do a great many things as you learn new tricks.

Transistor - The other great game from the Bastion team that is their take on the strategy RPG genre and has a really cool battle system.

Undertale - Great RPG that's inspired by games like Earthbound that is fun and goofy in some really cool ways.

The Unfinished Swan - Really cool adventure game with a great style and a cool way of using its one mechanic to let you explore its levels.

Until Dawn - The only horror game I've ever enjoyed and this is a great ode to horror movies in the same vein as Heavy Rain

Valkyria Chronicles - A great strategy RPG that should've revolutionized the genre on consoles, but instead the genre died on consoles.

Volume - Great stealth puzzle game inspired by Metal Gear Solid's VR missions.

Wipeout HD Collection - Great collection of the PS3 and Vita Wipeout games and expansions that provides some great, tough futuristic racing action.

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles - This is a cool open world adventure game where you're mostly exploring, collecting stuff, and completing quests from villagers that is just a fun, relaxing experience.

That's about everything I could come up with from what I've played, though there are still probably plenty of games I missed that I haven't played yet.

Neither the PS4 or the Xbox One have been cracked to allow playing burned games. He is a scammer. You didn't specify Xbox One though, so if it is Xbox 360 it has definitely been cracked to play burned games, among other things.

Frisky list of recommendations is great. There is a free trial of PS Now that has a ton of free Ps3 and PS4 games on demand, including many exclusives.
I picked up a PS4 on Black Friday for Bloodborne. It snowballed into Street Fighter 5, Nier Automata, Uncharted 1-4, Little Big Planet 3,Last of Us Remastered, and PSVR with 20+ games.

If anybody is unsure about Nier Automata, play the demo. It shows off most of what the game has to offer gameplay wise. You will have to replay that section if you buy the full game and I'd you replay it before the game fully installs, you'll have to either lose all progress or wait for the install to finish. On PS4 a notification saying the download is complete does not mean it is also installed yet.

For Xbox related content, my wife and I have been playing FarCry 5 and enjoying it. I downloaded Tera, but haven't played it yet. Read that it is about 1 year behind the PC version. I played PC version to max level with a friend about 3 years ago. Didn't love it, but it could be fun in small bursts.

Switch info

Mario Odyssey keeps on giving after you think the game is over. Very delightful.

Zelda BOTW is a bit intimidating, so I've barely touched it. Was fun from what I've played.

Love Golf Story. The writing is very fun. I'm addicted. Another game that keeps on going once you think you are close to the end.

Leave it to the Xbox thread. Giving out recommendations for the other consoles and that’s fine. It’s like people can appreciate games for games, not what system they are tied to.

For Zelda BOTW I’ve been playing and I love it. I wouldn’t call it intimidating but the time aspect could be. It’s my game I’m ok with playing in front of my kids and I love the combat. (Personal opinion: the combat reminds me of souls where you can do different tactics and time attacks - obviously it isn’t the same game at all).

I’m also tempted to get a PS4 and am looking at the usual suspects. GOW makes it more tempting but Spider-Man game play doesn’t seem as appealing to me as it does to other people. Looks nice but I’m skeptical that game play can live up to what people think.

Edit for Xbox content. There is a work around for metro that makes gun movement more fluid if anyone found it too sluggish. Game is fine. Not as amazing as I was hoping and the story telling is similar to half life 2 in my opinion.

I would say yes. There is a lot of content in the Handsome collection. You get Borderlands 2 and The pre sequel with all of the DLC for both games.

Borderlands 1 is not included in the Handsome collection. I wish they had ported Borderlands 1 to the XBox One. At least it is backwards compatable.

I'd say Borderlands is worth it if you never played them before, and maybe if you just skipped the BL2 DLC. I'd recommend playing with friends or using LFG if you aren't playing solo. At least a low levels I haven't been able to find a game well.

Quick question about Xbox Live Reward points. If I have say 4000 points and decide to "Cash Out" will I get $4 credit? I know it says it will automatically deposit the credit every month if you have 5000 points but I don't think I will reach that amount in time with XBL Rewards ending soon. Thanks in advance.

If this was true you could easily do it yourself for the cost of the blank discs, though most people don't have a blu-ray burner. That said, I've heard absolutely nothing about being able to play pirated games on the modern consoles in any way. You wouldn't have even been able to get banned before, as an Xbox or PS4 won't recognize it as a game.

At the absolute best, this guy is downloading the backups of discs that you can find that are basically just archives with the hopes of actual use in the future, and is an idiot that assumes they will just work. Or he's a plain old scammer trying to trick people out of their money for the cost of some blank blu-rays.

The current generation of consoles are not sufficiently cracked to play "backed up" games. Even last gen can't simply play a burned disc automatically, they all require a modified console, which is usually the service you see on Craigslist. I think the Dreamcast is the only console that can play burned discs without being modded in some way.

Yeah. If you do it now you should get $4 on the 15th.

Trying to decide on two more games before date night tomorrow.

Full Metal Furies - 50% off would have been an instant buy, but unsure at 25%. I do enjoy bralwer types and it's by the same folks who did Rogue Legacy.

Snake Pass - Charming, but afraid it'll make me hate myself like I Am Bread.

Unrelated, but thanks to whoever mentioned about emailing Microsoft Rewards about unbanning your account. Tried myself this week and had my suspension revoked as well.

FC5 continues to be a riot. I bought a military helicopter and it almost breaks the game, since you can approach many outposts and just kill everything from the air very quickly. Mostly, though, I appreciate just how much choice the game gives you in how you want to play it and the order you want to do things in. FC3 had a more linear story progression and would block off portions of the map or certain abilities until you'd completed certain story missions, but this game doesn't really do that at all, and it's better for it.

The story heavy sequences where you encounter the regional villains, though, really kill the fun for me. Thankfully they aren't super long.

Hammerburst, Dropshot, Torque Bow, Boomshot and "Exclusive Mixer Lancer" are available today in the Gears stream.

That's a Microsoft gift card not an Xbox gift card that's why they sent you a code.
Doesn't look like he was sent a code, he just blocked out the MS Rewards order confirmation number. The item says digital code, but it was directly deposited.

Mixer Lancer? I assume that’s for watching via the mixer stream? How is that one redeemed?
It's not available in the Quests tab for the Twitch stream, so just watch it through Mixer. Or switch to Mixer when someone posts that it's live. They done stream specific quests in the past.

I noticed borderlands 1 and 2 is backwards compatible, so I wondered what the difference was between the collection and just buying those bc games separately? I guess the collection is part 2 and the prequel, whereas buying separately gets me 1 and 2?

I purchased Full Metal Furies back when it was 50% off.

It is ok, but, I would not classify it as a brawler.
Its a rogue-like with guns.
If I were going to buy it again, I would, but, probably more than 50% off. I have about 10 hours into it.
I do not think it has the same charm as Rogue Legacy either.

Alright here's the post for the giveaway. Like this to be entered.

Cutoff for entries will be 7pm, the start of Wrestlemania main show. I will go in order shown in notifications, match you with the list of entrants according to Cageside Seats (Wrestling Inc as backup) post about the Andre Battle Royal, and the corresponding person wins a $10 spacebuck. Only exclusions are those on my ignore list, which isn't many.

Winner will not be announced promptly, since I'll be watching and (hopefully) enjoying the show. I'll announce it before I go to bed tomorrow morning, generally by 10am eastern (I work overnights during the week).

There are a lot of articles about Full Metal Furies where the developers are talking about the game not doing well at all sales wise so I'd probably hold out a bit longer than 25% It sounds like one of the mechanics is a puzzle element that didn't really come out as well as they intended.

Snake Pass is an interesting game, there is nothing that plays like it control wise. I haven't played I am Bread but I could see how it might be frustrating. Snake Pass is a lot of "why don't you do what I want you to do"

Well the Handsome collection ported BL2 and the Pre Sequel to the XBox One. There are some graphics/multiplayer improvements I believe. You also get all of the DLC for both games. You would not get all the DLC for BL2 if you purchased the XBox 360 version. There is a lot of DLC for BL2.

Here is the trailer for the collection:

I think you can skip some of that by holding down the B button.

You wouldn't be interested in doing 3 co-op missions this afternoon for the achievement would you? I wanted to trade it today while I am near Game Stop.

I liked FC3 better. This one was fun but had some issues IMO.
