I don't have any experrience but I would say if you have any experience comparing monitors in general I would look for the same criteria. Do you have one in mind?
It has cutscenes but I would say they are around 1 min or so at most (has been a bit since I played) and it is mostly boss introductions. The story is really deep but you have to search it out and/or go online and find explanations to experience it. Definitely not shoved down your throat like...
Single player is fun, multi-player is where it is at though if you have irl friends to play it with. I put probably 35 hours into it and prob my favorite racer of the the last decade.
2.1 is supposed to get rid of latency issues and auto-sync but in practice 2.1 seems to be a real pita to implement unless you are LG. I would just make sure to purchase from somewhere where you won't take a bath if you need to return the soundbar.
So the latest patch for the GP version of The Ascent fixed 99% of the hitching for me if anyone is still playing it. I don't think it will run on DX11 yet or allow you to actually enable RT effects but I'll take this version, it is very playable now (and super fun, I finished it).
