I had the completely opposite reaction. I was expecting it to be awful and was very pleasantly surprised. Especially by the graphics. Seriously, the NPCs look better than in Oblivion (okay, some of that is just design, but still, they've got fingers. That's impressive).

It really depends on the game. Some games it's just to speed up loading, but in others (Peace Walker and Mana Khemia) it adds voices as well.

Don't go with a 1000. I think most of the people who hate PSPs have only had experiences with a 1000. The screen has ghosting and the colors are washed out, the d-pad is awful, the [] button is squishy, it's heavy and causes horrible cramps (at least it did for me). The 2000 has the ghosting...

I would disagree. Most are hated simply because people seem to think it's cool to hate the PSP and its games. And because they either aren't from Squenix nor do they have lavish production values.
