Kid Icarus is looked back at with overly fond memories - it was a level-based Metroid, but with half the features taken out. I do like the game, but there are much better games that could be remade. And thanks for the link, Slash...interesting stuff.

I find it kind of disturbing that console ports of FPS games are overtaking PC ones in terms of sales - I can see some of the factors why - cheaper hardware, less hassle in setting up, but if the sales difference becomes significant, then FPS's will be built from the ground up for consoles...

It's not really going to screw up the content, just more ads around - look at gamefaqs when it got bought out. The negatives are the disabled direct linking and more advertising, but the faqs are still good.

Actually in South Korea gaming is so big (certain games only, like Starcraft, as previous poster mentioned) that they do live professionally just by gaming. There's TV shows around StarCraft, and the guy releases videos of his best matches on DVD, and fans buy them.

Sony probably was really thinking in this direction, otherwise they wouldn't have developed the technology. But with the huge backlash over the XPC thing in their CD's, I doubt they'll be stupid enough to follow through with this.

Even if you have unlimited continues, you don't need to use them. Try to aim for a "1 credit clear' - that is, finish the game without continuing. That's really what it means to master the game.
