Sorry about the ectoplankton map, I accidentally selected that. I wanted to play you in some more games too. :(

Good games, especially that second one where you superarmored that spike. Really had me on my toes on that last stock.

Oh, and PLEASE upload the third one. The KOs on your second and third stocks were awesome (at least in my mind). :lol:

I plan on it. I don't know why, but beyond the first stock I played the rest of the round really sloppy.
 
Just wanted to remind everyone that today is the deadline to send your poll ballots in. So far, I've only received 5/30 ballots, so I know there are many more to be done. Again, its not mandatory, but more polls do equal better and more accurate results.

Nice playing with you Lurk, we'll play for fun some more sometime. I'm starting to figure out the input lag on my new router channel causes a lot of input lag, makes me sad because this channels boosted my download speed by 6000 and I don't get dropped anymore (not that it would make me any better :lol:).

You did pretty good Amigo, the Marth match was one sided because I'm used to playing against him. The national champ has one of the best marth's in my province and I was training with him.

Two of the more interesting poll changes this week are evergoo, zitanix. The tough battle between zitanix and evergoo helped zitanix gain some recognition by jumping four spots, while causing evergoo to lose his coveted 2nd place spot to drop 5 points. FallMoon has gained some recognition as well by jumping 4 spots, in addition to having the most 1st place votes. zerowing's upset over Mad D helped him to jump from unranked to 11th.

Schedule Strength Preview

Midway through the season, schedule strengths will begin to take affect on the polls, and may help or hurt a player depending on how tough their opponents are. For a preview, here are the toughest and weakest schedules:

Toughest schedule so far:
foltzie, zerowing, dallow (6-2)

These players are all tied for the toughest opponents in CAG with a 6-2 ranking of all of their opponents combined. Looks like evergoo's predictions of foltzie having the hardest schedule on CAG hold true so far, but will it stay that way as the season goes on?

Weakest schedule so far:
dyeknom (2-8)

Unfortunately, dyeknom leads the bottom of the pack with his opponents only gaining 2 wins while suffering 8 losses. Will this weak schedule last? If so, how will it affect his rankings in the future?

Goo, clearly the trend is for those of us in Joe's Mad Goo to stay at the same rank. Get with the program!

In other news, good luck to whoever has to face foltzie next. He's kind of, well, disappeared. For our match, I'm just applying the stats we had from the item'd matches.
 
Joe, I PM'd foltzie and he has a 24-hr deadline to respond. If he doesn't, I will replace him with ChaosX.

In the event that foltzie is replaced by ChaosX, do you mind playing your Week 1 match against ChaosX? It wouldn't be fair for ChaosX to start the season 0-1 if he didn't play that game. It would also be his responsibility to take the initiative and set up the Week 1 match some time within the next 2 weeks.

I really like your Olimar, Blue! Looks like you made lots of improvements.

Would you like to do dittos with me some time? I'd like to learn from someone who mains Olimar, since I wouldn't mind using him as a secondary.
 
I dont know a lot about how Falco works, but I dont think you are supposed to stand while shooting lazors. I think if you short hop-double laser right, there is less lag or something.

Yeah, you're more of a sitting duck when you're standing still and firing, but part of it has to do with the input lag. Sometimes a B is buffered by pure accident. Of course, looking back, there are a few times when I fired the laz0r when it was unsafe.
 
Blue, use Dtilt next time to worm under the laser spam (works against Pit arrow spam too). Also, try to incorporate pivot grabs into your gameplay. Instead of running toward your opponent each time looking for a grab, mindgame them and run past them and turn around for the grab. It's a lot less predictable and you'll be punished less for it, most of the time.

I don't think I noticed any Dthrow combos either. Against most characters in early percents, you can Grab > Dthrow > Fsmash > Regrab > Dthrow and follow up with anything else after that. I usually follow up with a SHFF Fair or a pivot grab. You could actually start off the grab combos with a Bthrow into a regrab and follow up with what I said earlier.

One more thing: Use Up+B more! It's an AMAZING attack, especially on Battlefield. The range is just way too good to be passing up. You can follow up almost every Dthrow in the higher percentages with that move.

Hope you don't mind the friendly advice! I'm an Olimar main myself and I'd love to see some more really great Oli players out in the Smash community.

I don't know why, but I usually do use dtilt a lot more. I haven't been player Olimar as much recently, so I wasn't really planning to pull him out on the second match so it was as much of a surprise to me that I did as well as I did considering I haven't practiced him as much.

Yeah, I could play some dittos with you evergoo if you really want to, but I almost guarantee that it will do more harm than good because the matches typically end up being a clusterfest with Pikmin running all around. It's very important as Olimar to know where your Pikmin are, the order, and how many you have, and more than one Olimar on the stage makes that very difficult to do. If you still want to do it, we can just for laughs but I don't know how much it will help.

In either case, I'm just glad my schedule gets easier from here on out. ;)
