2008-09 NHL Thread - Stanley Cup Finals begin May 30!!!

I have the funny feeling that the Sharks are going to fall hard in Game 6. I think Caps/Rangers is going 7 and the Devils win tonight.
 
Canes up 2-0 right now. Brodeur is getting absolutely no help at all, and the 2 goals the Canes scored were really messed up. Goal 1 was like a baseball swing in front of the net and 2 was a bad pat down by the defenseman which led to the 2nd.

Yeah feel your pain. Joe might have been better served fighting for the puck instead of throwing down.

My guys will hopefully push Pronger and his gang into some stupid penalties and burn them on the PP. Getzlaf is playing like a beast, but I think a healthy dose of the Zetterberg or Datsyuk lines will bring that to a screaching halt. The Wings have three lines that are a real threat to score everytime they are on the ice as opposed to the Quacks who are pretty much a one and half line team. Should be interesting.
 
Heartbreaking game, the better team durinng the playoffs won the series. It's just not a good time to be a bay area sports fan, but there will always be next season. I was hoping for a round vs Detroit but oh well. Depending how badly detroit disposes of the Quacks I might feel much better. West is decided, now we look at the East. I plan to enjoy the playoffs until the last second.

I'd like to see Boston vs Detroit for the cup.
 
man, i dont want to root for the red wings or the ducks. in fact, i dont really care for anyone left in the west. hopefully the east wins this year (even though i said earlier that the cup was gonig to the west). im very interested in seeing what changes the san jose paper tigers make in the off season. and i hope that wasnt roenicks last game, id like to see him back one more year.
 
I was hoping the Sharks would at least win a round, but now the Bruins have home ice throughout. This'll be an awesome night if the Capitals and Devils both get knocked off.
 
You all have to see the end of that Canes-Devils game. Probably one of the most amazing sequences in playoff hockey I've ever seen to tie the game. Amazing
 
Ahh yes Fedorov. Always loved him as a Red Wing.

Saw the highlights of the Canes win. Crazy finish that's for sure.

A Cindy Crysby & Alex Over-Reaction matchup is good for the league and the fans. I hope Malkin and Ovechkin go after each other like they used to. None of this we kissed and made up shit.
 
caps pens looks like the best 2nd round series. its just annoying because of the east coast start games ill only be catching the 3rd period of the games thanks to work.
 
Bruins sweep the Canadiens, face the Whalers in the Adams division finals and will potentially play Washington in the conference finals.. Feels like 1990 again.

I went to a Wings/Bruins game that season. Was in high school and we all wore B's jerseys we used in pick up games. Got pretty buzzed before the game. Boston won in OT or had a really late goal. Can't remember exactly, but it was a high scoring game. Guy sitting in front of us tried to punch me right in the face!!! Friggin crazy

There was a brawl in Boston the year after, Steve Yzerman got punched in the face by a fan.
 
I actually watched a hockey game for once last night. Was really pulling for the Rangers, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed watching.

I'll probably pay a bit more to hockey now and catch some games when I can.
 
I love the game. I'm not really devoted to any team (my favourite are the Predators) but I hope the Ducks win the cup.
Either that, or the Canucks so a Canadian team can win :)
