2008-09 NHL Thread - Stanley Cup Finals begin May 30!!!

Hawks played terrible tonight, besides that third period, we looked like ass. But I know my Hawks will win in 6....at least I can pray for that. But this is going to be an exciting 2nd round for all the match-ups. I hope the Ducks can make it a series, but I know the Wing are probably going to dispose of them in 4 maybe 5.

Hawks vs Wings to go to the cup? How amazing would that be?
 
Man, that was a shitty game last night. Too many penalties by the Hawks, Khabibulin almost injuring himself when he tried to play the puck 30 feet away from the net, and the team just looked flat. Damn you, Sedin twins!

I don't know what was worse, Khabibulin getting pushed away from his goal by his own teammate or The Canucks not getting a shot off at an open net.

Ducks are full of confidence, but hopefully Hiller is going to get driven insane by Holmstrom, Franzen & Cleary. Your Sharks lack of sack kept them from going to the net and paying the price. Which is what it takes against any good goalie come playoff time.

The Ducks played a good game. That wasn't an easy win. Wings looked a bit out of sync and missed Rafalski on the PP. Lidstrom aka the greatest European to put on skates stepped up with a huge game. I know VIP was loving it when Franzen scored and knocked Hiller's mask off.

Boston looking very strong.
 
I actually didn't watch til about 8 min left. I was too busy snoozing here at work. Good that someone knocked around Hitler though.

Yeah Whalers aren't going anywhere this year. It's gonna be Bruins versus the winner of the Wings/Ducks series in the finals.
 
I dunno about you all but does this season's playoffs seem to be going by fast? and sorry... no, the fact that the Sharts are out is not a reason :roll:

Hawks are killing themselves in the first period for the second game in a row.
 
That was a really good game between Detroit and Anaheim. I enjoyed it about as much as I could enjoy a game between two teams I hate. The Ducks won (in triple overtime!) which is never cause for celebration, but I do hope that this series goes to 7 games of quality playoff hockey. I want whoever the winner may be to come out o this series tired and beaten down so that they fall to Chicago or Vancouver in the conference finals. I don't mind the Canucks or Blackhawks, but I sure as hell don't want to see the Ducks or Wings in the Cup Finals.
 
I can't wait for the complaining on sports talk radio. Over analyzing this 3rd OT loss is going to be comedy gold.

Oh and go Canes. If we can't win 6 in a row then neither can Boston.
