A dirty hit by the Steelers when the game is basically over, I'm shocked I tell you.
that wasn't any dirtier a hit than any of the non penalized hits bit Rodney Harrison.. btw.. I'm right about Cassell.. he is very efficient.. but he doesn't win games like Brady does..

Cassel couldn't have done much more than he did, I lost count of balls in peoples hands that were dropped. I lost count of how many Steelers got to Cassel untouched. Matt Light and Nick Kaczur are turnstiles. No, he doesn't win games like Brady does, but no one does.

And no, that was a dirty, dirty hit. He knew the ball was nowhere near Welker, and he took him out. Knocked him out of the game, I just hope he's not seriously injured. But thats the Steelers for you.

you need to watch the hit a couple of times before you accuse people of dirty hits.. Clark wasn't watching the ball.. he was trying to time the hit... It's sad you don't understand that,.. the penalty wasn't the way he hit the receiver.. it was the fact he left his feet..

Cassel got my fantasy opponent a whopping 0 points  He just squeaked over -1 in the last minute or so.

Overall, a great day for the AFC playoff picture

It was both, he left his feet and the hit was away from the ball and late. How can you time the hit without knowing where the ball is? That doesn't make any sense. He's definitely going to face a suspension for that.

Not a suspension but he will most likely get fined.

Thats his second hit of the season like that on receivers who did not catch the ball he had one earlier in the season against the Jag's Matt Jones. I know he got fined for the first hit so maybe this one will get him both a game suspension and a bigger fine.

he saw the ball leave the qbs hands then went for the hit timing the pass.. He didn't see it get tipped... and because it did get tipped the receiver was allowed be hit..

Good lord Orton is doing his best Grossman impression tonight. Nice hustle by Olsen on the Leber pick. I hate to say it but this will be overturned. The ball did roll out of bounds after the fumble.

How many Denver players went down yesterday? Every time the Jets started going to no-huddle a Denver player would stay down, and this happened every time on every drive they went no huddle, so much that the fans started booing.

Denver is a mystery though, their doing well one week and then they lose to the Raiders, at least the Jets and Broncos had something in common :p

I thought it was a little suspicious at first, but whenever they showed a replay, you could tell the guy was actually getting hurt.

Being a Denver fan, and watching most of their games, I can say that they are a VERY inconsistent team. They seem to play differently every game because of how may rookies they have on the field thanks to the numerous injuries. If they could get their team healthy, I think they could dominate.

Rodney Harrison is probably the dirtiest player in the league and rarely gets in trouble for it. Hopefully he retires.
Cassel's receivers did not help him at all in this one, so many dropped balls.

How do you guys think the Cowboys will do against the Steelers? Just curious, i figure they are pretty much toast with a loss...

As a Big Dallas fan i'm chalking this game up as a loss. The Steelers Defense is way too tough. James Harrison is a great LB and the way he just ran past Matt Light was impressive on Sunday.

To have any chance, D. Ware needs to play in this game. Hopefully he is healthy enough because without him, Ben will have all day to throw the ball against our already shaky secondary.

Marion Barber playing isn't that really of a big deal. We weren't going to be able to run the ball against Pitts so that doesn't matter too much but he does catch well out of the backfield.

As I mentioned earlier about Harrison. I'm not to worried about him getting to Romo too much since we will have to try and beat Flozell Adams. Also our O Line has been playing very very well even though we are still without our one Left Tackle.

I'm just hoping for a good game and won't be suprised by the Steelers winning.

I think it really depends on how the 1st quarter goes, mostly how the Cowboys start. If they jump out to a 14-17 point lead, it'll be a tough game, but if the Cowboys are either down or not up by much in the last 45 minutes, that definitely plays into the Steelers' hands. Pittsburgh is a team that gradually gains momentum as the game goes on, especially the defense. So, for the Cowboys to win, they have to jump out to a double digit lead early while Pittsburgh's D is most vulnerable and hope to hold on.

I think the Cowboys have a legitimate chance at beating the Steelers. Two losses came from the NFC East. The Cowboys could hang with Philly an NY when healthy. I think the weather will be a huge factor. If it is fair weather, the Cowboys could have a chance. If it is bad, the Steelers should have a pretty easy win.

I realize it's true, but I think the "losing twice to the NFC East" statistic is kinda silly. The losses really have little to do with what division the opponents were in. The Steelers failed to do enough to stop a hot Philly team and lost a tough, kinda strange game to a great Giants team. Had the division been named the AFC East the results would've been the same ;)
fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
Kevin and Pat Williams out for the rest of the season.
fucking Goodell.
They are filing an injunction and hope to be able to finish out the season. They have no one to blame but themselves though.

When does the NFL usually hand out fines? It looks like Ryan Clark hasn't been disciplined for his hit on Welker yet, but I assume he's not safe yet...

Welker is a tough mofo but the only thing dirty about that hit was that he maybe left his feet otherwise it looked like it was all shoulder to me. Plus the ball was tipped before the hit so Clark was allowed to take out Welker. I'd actually be surprised if there is a fine...

The only reason Pittsburgh wins games in the 4th is because they milk the clock by running the ball. I honestly think there will be no running the ball by either team. 2 of the best Run Defenses here.

I think its actually Friday though, so there might be one still coming.

After seeing what the Steelers did to New England in Foxboro the Cboys will need to bring their very best. Im gonna be hanging by the tv close this Sunday!!! Look forward to this next weeks posts!!

Well, yeah but this is the NFL we're talking about here.

That is true to an extent. It used to be that way more than it is now.

You can tell they miss Jerome "The Bus" Bettis :p, and who else thinks Mike Tomlin looks like Omar Epps? My family has said that ever since he became the head coach

It was a really close game until Matt Light stopped blocking Harrison. 3 Turnovers in 9 plays. Wow.

NFL said the ryan clark hit was clean... it was close until Cassels had some turnovers.. I expect the cowboys will be a much closer game.. but if the Steelers OL shows up like they did against the Pats, the Steelers will win. Also I've said since the hire he looked like Omar Epps..lol

Yeah it did turn fast at one point in the second half. I was looking forward to that game, thought the Steelers showed up big doing it in their house... :cold:

i take back everything i said about Buffalo and i mean Everything. Sorry Pimpininc for doubting what you said. They cant even beat bad teams let alone teams in their own division. I dont even think my prediction of 9-7 will come through. They will finish 6-10 and boy do i hope Dick Jauron is gone. He can take Turk Schonert with him.

So what are the rules on the airing of NFL Network games on regular channels? My friend in San Diego gets to watch this weeks game on FOX.

it all depends on the city and tv station. The thursday night steeler game was on ABC for me in Pittsburgh. Some cities won't carry it on their local stations some would.

Yeah the rules are weird. Last year for the Packers game I believe it was everywhere north of Madison and Milwaukee got the game broadcast on local channels while the rest didn't.

I kind of wish the Williams would take their suspensions and be out for 4 weeks.
Without them we can beat the Lions. Then we can beat at least one of Arizona, Atlanta and New York.
I'm just terrified we'll lose them in the playoffs.
9-7 is all we need for the Playoffs.

Steve Slaton is having a nice rookie year. Went over 1000 rushing yards today with 3 games left. Nice to see another WVU alum doing well in the NFL.
