2009/2010 NFL Thread - Combine Time - Draft 4/22 -
Since the Patriots dynasty is over and probably entering a rebuilding phase, who is your pick for this decade? Mine is the Cowboys.
I think this is almost impossible to predict since every bad team in the league is a few players away from being good and every good team in the league is an injury away from being bad. Also, if the Colts win the Super Bowl then I'd pick them as my team of the decade since they'd have the most wins, most playoff appearances and 2 SB titles.

If the Colts went 19-0 this season, they would have a legitimate shot at being the team of the decade, but we all know how that went down. They don't come close to the Pats 4 Superbowl appearances. 3 championships in four years is insane.

well my first round predictions were totally wrong. heres what i got for round 2.

afc

baltimore over indy
san diego over new york

nfc

dallas over minnesota
new orleans over arizona

Predictions only or you actually want those teams to win?

Here's who I want to win
Baltimore
San Diego
Arizona
Minnesota
a mixture of the two. the teams i want to win, i actually think will win.

Ravens
Jets (based solely on the fact that I am a Ravens fan, and would rather go to NY than SD)

Saints
Vikings

Thats who I want to win

I think it will be Ravens, Chargers, Cardinals, and Cowboys.

Well this is a beat down. 45-14 Saints after long punt return for a TD by Bush.

As for the rest of the games, I figure the 1 and 2 seeds will win all of the. Those 4 teams have been the best by a good bit all year. Vikings are probably the most likely to lose since the Cowboys have been playing very well. But I still think they'll pull it out.

Oh well, no fairy tale ending for Warner this year. Don't really care about either team, wouldn't have minded seeing Warner go out as a champ though. Don't foresee Warner hanging around the league as long as Favre is.

Predicting Baltimore @ San Diego next week. Got a feeling Dallas is going to win as well. Been batting 0.000 on my playoff predictions so far though. lol

I really don't like Ray Lewis very much but that was a BS call. Collie was not a defenseless receiver and he still had the ball in his hands when he got hit. Looked to me like Ray was trying to lower his shoulder into Collie and he happened to drop at the same time.

What was worse was that the second and goal play only lasted two seconds. They should have been forced to kick that field goal. No way they have time to check receivers and dump the ball off for an incompletion in only two seconds. At a minimum there should have been 5 seconds taken off the clock. Baltimore got hosed, CBS is too busy sucking Manning's dick to notice, and this game reminds me why I hate watching AFC games.

John Harbaugh had every reason out there to complain about this one. That was fucking horrible.

It was like 4 seconds but whatever.

That time matters. Those two extra seconds were the only reason they went for 7 instead of kicking the field goal.

That was pretty horrible. I didn't agree with the personal foul on Ray Lewis either.

Let's just hope Manning thinks things are going very well and then the Colts reach a game where they get super owned.

Seriously. It was 3 straight hours of Manning love. They scored 3 points in the 2nd half. Stop blowing him and give more credit to Indy's defense for just crushing the Ravens the entire game.
I can't stand Dan Dierdorf.
I also loved how Dierdork would praise Manning on bad plays like the sacks when he'd drop straight to the ground without being touched.

Don't forget that awesome little bit where he said something to the effect of "If you are someone who really enjoys seeing football played at the highest level you should cherish every moment you get to see Peyton Manning play quarterback"
very surprised dallas is playing this poorly. 3 fumbles so far, 2 lost. very few teams can with with those kind of numbers.
I'm not. It's Romo and Wade Phillips in the playoffs.

Signing Suisham was a huge mistake, the guy just doesn't perform in big games. He missed not 1 but 2 field goals, cmon. There's a reason he got cut.

i dont buy it. they got that monkey off their back last week with a very strong showing. you cant blame phillips or romo when the oline isnt giving romo a chance to throw.

and yeah, suisham is the one losing the game. if he had made those 2 field goes theyd be a TD and conversion away from tying the game up.

Add an interception now

No they didn't. They beat philly. A team they had already beaten twice in the regular season.

I can blame Romo for holding the ball too long and taking big losses of yardage.

That was just a total domination.

If the Vikings D can play like that they will be hard to beat. Still will be tough to beat the Saints in the Superdome next week. I'll be picking the winner of that game in the Super Bowl for sure though.

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!
I have been waiting all my life for something like that! We're real.
My condolences for the non-trash talking Cowboys fans.
Man oh man, Cowboys fans have been trash talking me all week.
I went to go see the Blindside on Friday and I was wearing my Vikings Jacket, shoes and A.P. jersey and a bunch of Cowboys fans were in line to see Avatar trying to fight me.
I wish I knew their numbers so I could laugh in their face right now.

Look forward to seeing the Cowboys again next year in the regular season.

BRING ON THE SAINTS!

There's only been one close game so far this year, and I have a feeling the Jets/Chargers game won't do anything to change that. I'm hoping it's a good game, but the Jets will have to start throwing if they get down. I'm not sure Sanchez is ready for that.

Yeah, I expect the Chargers to win by 14+ as well.

As I said earlier, I figured both the 1 and 2 seeds would win as these 4 teams were clearly the best 4 teams in the league all year (well Charger's had a slow start the first couple of weeks).

In any case, should be two great games next week, and a good Super Bowl.

Of course he has to earn it, I think all he was saying is he'd like to see Favre win if his team doesn't given the energy and effort he's putting forth.

I've always liked the guy, so I'm pulling for the Vikings. I'm a Raider's fan, so playoffs for me since 2002 is just rooting against teams I hate and finding a team or two to pull for casually.

But honestly, as long as the Chargers or Jets don't win it, I'm fine with any of the remaining teams winning it.

Wow that pick by Revis was crazy! When I first saw the play I thought for sure that ball hit the ground but the replay shows it bounced off of Jackson right into his lap!

Managed to fall asleep during the closest game of the weekend, again.

Didn't think the game would stay close enough for the Jets to be able to stick to their gameplan.

Looks like it may be destiny for the Jets to eliminate the two teams that let them in.
