2009/2010 NFL Thread - Combine Time - Draft 4/22 -

Damn, man a new season brings even more fucking injuries for the Chargers.. They lost like 2-3 starters for the game against the Ravens. At least the game is @ home.

It will be interesting to see if the Raiders can get it together anytime soon as long as Al Davis owns the team..

The finish to the Pats/Jets game was satisfying, since I dislike the Patriots. Baltimore/San Diego has been decent so far. Sproles's 81 yard TD reception was awesome, but the Chargers have done nothing but kick field goals since.

Minnesota seems to have a potential issue with sucking for the first half and then kicking it into gear in the second half, which is better than the opposite until somebody comes along to take advantage of that flaw.

Had a friend bet on Cleveland this weekend because they managed a touchdown against the Vikings. He has no right to get upset over them not playing well.

Well everybody better not be hoping for their team to take the top QB in the draft, I think the Browns got that locked up. Actually I'm sure they won't make the best pick, so maybe not. It's going to be a long season for having season tickets.
That Raider's game was painful to watch--but a win's a win!
Replace Raider's with Redskins and the sentence is still true.

Packers annoyed me throughout the whole game, and it all started with those dropped passes. Penalties, terrible tackling, bad blocking on the O-line, dropped passes, missed FG, insignificant Run game, constant gaps in defense, you name it, Packers probably did it today =/
I hope the coaching staff harps on em' real hard, they can't afford to lose close games again this year.

Anyone else who watched the game think Palmer didn't get in the end zone? The replay to me doesn't show him even touch the edge of the white line, and in fact, he fumbled the ball and Green Bay recovered.

The Refs, Challenge-wise, have made some incredibly sketchy calls already, both in the NFL and college. That Raiders non-TD call is gonna stick in my head for awhile btw.

Huge win for my Bears today. Anytime you can beat the defending champs it's a good win. Glad to see Cutler rebound with a really good game.

The Browns don't need another QB.

Yay Bears! This capped off a good weekend of sports for me. USC losing, FSU dominating BYU, the bungling Bangles beating the Pack, and the J-E-T-S winning over the Patriots. Ahhhh. Nice weekend indeed.

cant wait to see the 49ers D play against minnesota.

cant believe greg jennings and randy moss decided not to play football today. as a result im going to lose my fantasy game by a slim margin.

Brady throwing up a goose egg I thought was going to hurt me, but my opponent had Randy Moss (and Greg Jennings), so it's looking good for me. I have Barber tonight, and he has I think Clark tomorrow. We're hitting .500 for the first time this year. :D

I really didn't think the Bears could win this game, super happy to not be 0-2. Glad the game was on CBS so I could actually watch it here in the STL, no such luck next week @ Seattle (I'll only get the Rams game.) :(

G-Men need to stop with these Red Zone mishaps. There are stellar beyond the 20..but inside the 20 they look totally lost. Eli just loses it in there.

Bills won be we lost starters. Let the IR list begin! I wonder if they can beat last year's number of players on injured reserved.

It didn't look like he made it over to me -- but, they never really showed an angle that looked like it was definitive.

Did the Packers throw a single slant all game? That would seem like a good idea to me since the rush got to Rodgers so quickly. The line just play awful all game, disappointing game...

yeah Giants. They played like shit but made it out of Dallas with a W. RESPECT ELI MANNING.

EDIT: Also, I'm watching the Wade Phillips post-game interview right now - how does this guy still have his job? He is off the charts with the unintentional comedy.

I really wish they would have just gotten rid of him and brought in Shanahan.

The Cowboys gave up four turnovers and had no sacks and still were in the game. As long as they can get things going in the right direction with the passing game they should be fine. The NFC East is going to be great to watch this year.

I'd like to thank the Lions for keeping the dream alive. Sure going 0-16 is tough but doing is twice in a row is truley a challenge. You can do it!

Not to mention they're knocking on the door of longest losing streak in NFL history.

Awesome avatar.
So the Jets maybe tampering with Crabtree? Hopefully the Niners get a decent draft pick out of this.
id rather they sign and trade crabtree to the jets and get a decent draft pick. if, and its a big if, they find the jets did tamper we might get a 5th or 6th out of it.

I would rather they sign Crabtree and keep him and get a draft pick from the Jets. I know this whole thing with Crabtree has gone on for awhile but I believe he will be a good WR in the NFL and the Niners need a #1 WR badly.

The idiot doesn't seem to realize next year's draft is way deeper (additions of McCoy/Bradford/Locker/Cody/Dez) and add in the fact the dude hasn't run a .40 so nobody knows his speed....

The tampering allegations have to be easy to prosecute the Jets and forfeit a draft pick. Deion has already gone public with comments and he's bff's with Crabbitch.....

49ers pick (ranging somewhere between 18-20) + Carolina's pick (Top 6) + Crabtree could easily net the 49ers a top 3 pick.....draft McCoy and call it a day.

with our two 1st round picks next year im all over mccoy. except we should let shaun hill keep the reins for another season or two and let mccoy develop and get used to the speed of the game instead of throwing him to the wolves with 4 offensive coordinators in as many seasons.

I'd give Shaun Hill this season.....then next if a QB Vet isn't acquired.....McCoy or Locker would be the only two i'd draft in the Top 10.....not a big fan of Bradford but that's for a future discussion.

All I know is, Crabtree isn't needed by the 49ers. Would it be nice? Yes. But in all honesty, I think the kid was in a spread system that pumped his stats and if we threw him in the lineup would mess with the chemistry that the team has.

Have you all forgotten about Nate Davis? I could see us going with Hill next season while banking on Davis turning into a stud QB. That means we don't draft a QB but a OL and pass rusher with the two 1st round picks.

i dont know if we should bank on davis becoming a stud. the kid has talent and he did well in the preseason, but is he our future? if the 49ers stop being cheap they can fill in a lot of the gaps on the line via free agency, one thing we have right now is cap space (whether or not theres a cap next season is another story), but finding a franchise qb is a lot harder. and if i had a choice between drafting tebow or hoping davis turns into a stud, well id take tebow.

Nate Davis played well in the preseason but if the Niners can grab a top QB in the draft next year they should. And they should finally cut ties with Alex Smith. I really hope they do not bank on Nate Davis though, as they should keep there options open unlike what they did when they drafted Smith.

Crabtree has a lot of talent and despite what has gone on I still want him on the team. The guy can be a #1 WR and the Niners have not had one since TO.

Jimmy Raye fucking sucks. About a billion up the gut plays that go nowhere. How about you go for a first down at the end of the game. fuck. Not looking forward to getting another OC next season.

Don't watch this crap, but happen to catch the last "seconds" of the sf/min game because my dad had it on when I walked by.

SF = OWNED

I'm rather proud of how well the 49ers did without Gore. And it's not like it's the first time Favre beat us, heh.

yeah Giants. Boring game for the most part - I was just rooting for the shutout by the third quarter. The Bucs had no chance.

Jimmy Raye did this bullshit, not going for the win and instead just making the other team spend their timeouts, against the Cardinals. But this time it fucked the 49ers over.
Gotta love the refs today in the Vikes/SF game.

49ers season, is over.
At least you didn't lose to a team that had 18 straight losses.
