Ohhhhhh yeah. We had a hell of a time with our match - after we got the timing worked out, trying to get the room together was awful because lilboo's friend list is full and, genius that I am, I told maigoyume to set up the room which meant boo wasn't able to find it.

Eventually, I decided to host and all four of us got into one room...and then I got a disconnect about two minutes into the match. :bomb:
 
Sorry CK - I got pissed and threw my controller (not really a throw, more of a throttle). Falling through that ledge just pissed me off so much (entirely my fault). Of course it put me back in with one of your lives.
 
Well, so much for the third match for shits and giggles... I got disconnected.

I would not call that a good game.

But... I'll be damned if we were going to give you guys a free pass.

I was going to make this shit work even if I had to go out and buy an adapter.
 
I just couldn't get used to so much going on at once. Combine that with how I'm not use to playing online and it = just not good playing.

Regardless, I had fun and it's always a good time with CAG people. Good games (though my play would be subject to interpretation).

Yeah, it's really too bad that these terrible internet conditions had to manifest right before the start of our tournament. Really sucks! D:

Well, I suppose it's just best to grit our teeth and bear it? Unless anyone has any suggestions?

Nothing to be done about connections and such.

Even with the best conditions, Nintendo itself is one of the causes of these issues, so theres not much to do except live with it if you want to do team tourneys.
 
Well, it looks like all the teams (save - possibly - my own -_-) will be done by tonight/early tomorrow. I'll be sure to update the pairings tonight.
 
Oh suggestion for next team tournament if there is one. Keep team attack off. Its already laggy to the point of limited control, right now its just a massive clusterfuck of confusion. Obviously, theres the accidental hits which seems to be part of the point, but its confusing to the point where I saw Arikado hunting down suko and trying to keep him from recovering in the second match, I'm guessing because he lost track of the players when we all got hit and flew in different directions.

Basically, it seems like this is a type of battle for having fun messing around in, but not one conducive to a tournament.

Agreed. I know that lilboo and I ended up killing the other at least once each, and it's hard not to - we picked Final Destination to try and remove environmental randomness, but the level's so small that it's hard not to hit people with moves like Pikachu's Down+B.

I also want to push for a tourney with at least some of the items left on, but I'm probably in a minority there.

If I'm not mistaken it's a 2 loss tournament. So we at least have one more chance to make it to the top. Maybe by next round I'll get myself together and be able to actually do something.
 
Thanks for the feedback, guys! Choosing whether or not to have friendly fire was one of our hardest choices. One of our main concerns was twin Spamchus (or other effective Spammers) really just bringing the game down. :/

My only advice is to, um, look for the name tags! :D If you want bigger stages, try alternative choices. And choose, for example, Lylat Cruise instead of Battlefield, or Eldin Bridge in lieu of Final Destination. Sorry I can't offer anything else!

Heh... yeah, I threw him then jumped after him for a followup uair. I'm not sure team tournies are usually run (don't play teams often to be honest), but I'm guessing they would have friendly fire on to stop excessive turtling.

I'm not sure if I added you or not, I've been away from my apartment for the past two weeks. I'll be heading back tomorrow, I can probably start playing Brawl regularly then.

We (Elite King Hero) were supposed to play Adiculo's Crusher this afternoon, but they haven't gotten back to us, or responded to my PM. According to CAG, OnChkMnDS hasn't logged in since ~9:30 last night.

What do we do?

I was using luigi headbutt evade and feint moves. And he still whacks me with his huge Ike sword. Hmmm.... Death by Pikachu, Princess, Ike and Rob... Darn, Marc a quick study, he is reading my mind left and right.

If you change the location to CA then you should be able to connect.

Edit: If my team didn't get to play in the tournment yet because ours opponents forfeited, does my team get pass the first round?

I thought JFD was asking for a morning match, because I never got anything confirming that it was indeed PM. Wow, I'm terribly sorry. Is there any chance we could do it tomorrow? Or better yet, Tuesday so we can plan a time?
