Don't let it get to you. Unfortunately, for every one person who posts about hoarding, there are 100 more who do it but don't.

I highly doubt that CC or BB will price match this. $50 to 4.99 is very far fetched for their system. My Walmart even gives me crap with price matching for a huge discount (other words wouldn't do it for me). I am still going to try though...
Purposefully deceiving a company by getting them to pricematch an ad you know is not being honored is fraud. Getting someone to pricematch to a price that does not really exist is fraud. Even if it squeaks by the letter of the law (which I doubt) it's wrong. Theft. Deceit. Villiany.

I will show my faith in humanity and assume you are going to trade these in for their trade-in value somewhere, and not try and pass them off as returns somewhere.
That's the kind of attitude that tends to get people looking at you funny around here. And a way to tick off anyone in your area for being a hoarder.

anyone in the FOrt wayne Area PRobally wont want to try this at CC cause they got workers there that read this site.... I know this cause when i went in to get the penny jampacks they asked if i got the info off CAG webpage and i was like ummmm yea why?

I'm more curious to how you can't do a simple cut and paste operation, since I know JSweeney has a much better grasp of computers and the English language than you appear to.

Why do people continually try to uphold morals on this website? most stores limit 3 on price matches and Expect them to call the stores even if they never did before ... 45 bucks off a game puts up a lot of red flags. IM going saturday just to grab any 5 buck game i can get my hands on for xmas presents :)

It's fraud if you intend to return it for money or store credit from somewhere you didn't buy it from, since you didn't make a valid sale from them.

If you're planning on trading all those copies in, and I bet any store around would look at you funny for trading in more than a couple of copies of a game at once, then you're more than welcome to do it, though you'll be taking them from people that might actually want to play them.

If you want to be a hoarder, then don't expect anyone around here to want to deal with you, even if you're out in the middle of nowhere in Ohio. Somewhere big enough to have a BB and CC within short driving distance, according to what you said.

I traded in a lot of new games i got off ebgames 5 buck deals and they looked at me funny and asked why i was trading in brand new games. I was like i got them real cheap ( i was trading in 3 for free madden game and free THUG2 game) I dont think i will go back there for awhile cause they think something is up ...

I'm running late for work, so I'm going to leave this for someone else to deal with, but I will say that morality does not conflict with getting legitimate good deals, but being a scammer does conflict with being part of a community.

People try to uphold morals on this website, mainly because a good percentage of people here aren't out to screw over their fellow person. Unlike you seem to be well-versed in.

There's a difference between cheap and being a scam artist. Some people enjoy getting the deal and saving money on games, which doesn't correlate to them wanting to screw over their fellow person by hoarding or cleaning out a store, like at least one person in this thread has done.

I don't plan to spend full price on a game unless I have no choice, and there's always the choice to wait on it. When something like this comes out and people expect it to happen, and it doesn't because of a typo, then they just need to get over it. Those with clues figured this out as a huge YMMV at best and not happening at worst, and if they get it, then they're happy about it, not trying to clear out the stores and screw the people around them.

If you're trying to make some side money, then go hang out at FatWallet.com, there's plenty of people just like you there.

CheapAssGamer helps us find the cheapest games available for purchase, not to steal. Scamming is theft. Scamming drives the price of games upward, and discourages deals. Scamming causes return policies that are useful and occasionally necessary to dry up and go away. I buy games cheaper so I can buy more games... I do purchase some titles at release or full price, especially if I am attempting to reward the publisher or developer for a particularly well-done job or for going out on a limb with a product. But how in the world does wanting to get games cheaper open up the floodgates to make it ok to get games BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY?

And again, we have the delicious dichotomy of the words "grow up" occuring in such a post.

I have no problem with trying to getting a few extra copies, but you shouldn't go in with the mindset that you'll buy every single copy. Leave a few for others.

Good luck on getting a DS, though.

Eh, if you throw enough of a shit fit, you'll probably get it. You may have to go pretty hardcore though, get it to the point that they just want you to leave and you'll probably get the game. I'm NOT saying it's nessecarily the right thing to do and I don't plan on doing it, but it'll probably work depending on how far you want to take it.
Yeah, either that or they'll have you removed from thier store and threatened with legal action and charges of trespassing if you return.
If you are going to try and throw your weight around and whine and cry and rant, make sure you watch your words and don't make any subtle expressed or implied threats towards a cashier.
Getting a game cheap is not worth having legal action brought against you :)

The funny thing is, I didn't really ever bring morality into this... I was keeping more to the legality of it... I guess my reputation preceeds me :)
I don't see the fuss. Doesn't Ace Combat suck? I mean, flying around an airplane? ooohhhh...
Because many people are greedy and want to buy it not for the game, but rather for the high trade in or return value of the game.
I'll never understand that mindset... if one wants to make money, they are much, much better ways with much higher returns on investment.

Many of these are the same people who will go and hoard whatever the hot toy is this Christmas just to try and turn a quick buck.

(I know many of you actually just want Ace Combat 5, so if you want the game to actually play it, disregard what I said... it's not directed at you.)

I mean really... what's the best possible return you could get out of this?
Most stores won't have more than 5-6 copies of the title, and even if the store gives in to your demand of selling the game to you for 5 dollars, do you really think they'll just say "Oh yeah, go ahead and take the rest."
The chances of you getting a price match elsewhere is slim to nil..
so for a hard day's work of hustling, yelling and making a fool out of yourself, you'd be very lucky to net about 2-300 dollars profit.

Maybe to some that looks like a lot... but it's a pittance to me, and definately not worth the required effort.

Ace Combat 5 from Sears - $4.99
Lost wages from being stuck in jail until court hearing - $500
Legal fees for trespassing and court costs - $2000
Finding a new job after being stuck in jail for a week - $1000

Knowing you screwed Sears out of a $50 game for $4.99 - priceless

If I bought it, I'd keep it to play, not to trade up in trade in credit. I've only done that once and it was when Red Dead Revolver was $15 at BB after GGC and FYE was offering $25 trade-in on it. Bought two at BB, went to FYE and picked up $50 in credit.

Probably the only time I'd do it.

Sears cannot legally hide something on sale. They'd lose even more money by doing that from the lawsuits they get hit with.

Either way, I hope to get this ad and bring it to CC. Ace Combat 5 for $5 is great. Ace Combat 5 for $0.50? That's unfuckingbelievable.

I'm no lawyer, but that statement doesn't make sense. All they have to do to comply with the ad is have some games on sale for $4.99. Once they are gone, it doesn't matter, since they stated titles vary by store, no store has to have Ace Combat 5 for sale at all, and even if they do, they can tell you that at their particular location, that isn't one of the titles that is selling for $4.99. However, just because they have it in stock, does not mean they have to sell it, I don't think. I mean, stores regularly receive games before the release date, and they aren't allowed to sell them, so I don't see why they couldn't just keep them in the store room.

I don't see your point here. Tomb Raider is on it's 5th or 6th game and it constantly sucks. 989 is still trying to make sports games and they suck. There's a lot more examples. Just because there are sequels to a game doesn't mean it's any good - it probably means it sold more than expected.

Yeah zewone, I agree; this kind of shit is completely retarded.

Some questions for the would-be complainers out there:

1. Do you get pissed off when a store won't honor an OBVIOUS misprint? Yes? Congrats, you're an idiot.
2. Do you have so much spare time on your hands that you would go to the trouble of reporting them to the BBB? Yes? Again, you're an ass.
3. Do you have enough spare time AND money to actually file a lawsuit because you couldn't get a certain videogame for $5? Yes? Really? Awww....YOU'RE A SHITBALL!!!

My point: if anyone, and i mean ANYONE, actually takes the time to complain to ANYONE ELSE (loved ones, friends, store managers, a lawyer, the BBB) about missing out on this "deal," then that person deserves the "douche of the century" award for being a superb dumbass.
