Actual Madden League that PLAYS THEIR GAMES!

I think smiggity is still pretty busy with work right now, so I will go ahead and advance the week. By tomorrow.
 
Sounds good. I'm ready for another week...and ready to get this week's game out of the way before Tuesday when Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend arrive on my doorstep.


EDIT: I got my game in on Sunday night. It was an ugly 20-10 win over the Browns. I don't know what the deal is with my running backs, but two weeks ago I lost Ryan Grant for the season because of an injury and tonight Steve Slaton got injured after four carries and didn't return. Of course, Slaton didn't get injured until after he turned it over on a fumble.

So right now I'm 4-0 against the CPU and 0-2 against actual people in our league. Here's to hoping I can actually beat someone this season.

If we could advance this week's schedule by Sunday that'd be great. I'm on vacation next week and would like to fit in the next game sometime between Monday and Wednesday.
 
I've evened up to 3-3. All of a sudden I'm doing a lot better vs the cpu. Playoff run for the niners? Unfortunately the stupid cpu sq'awks are 5-1.
 
The last week got switched over on 10/11. I checked last night and three people still had to play their games. Any idea when we'll be advancing to the next week? Craig & I are ready to go head-to-head.

I will play my game soon, I just think with demon's souls and Uncharted 2 taking up most gamers times right now, it's been hard for people to get their games in.
 
Any chance we'll be advancing the schedule soon? I've had the entire week off of work and was hoping to get my game in but, as of last night, there were still three guys that haven't played their game since the schedule advanced 11 days ago.

I won't be able to play again until Saturday or Sunday at the earliest so hopefully those who haven't played their games yet can get them in by then. Sorry if I seem impatient, but I figured we'd be getting in a game a week and we'll be closing in on two weeks this Sunday.

One of them would be me. I have busy as of late and PLAYING UNCHARTED 2! I'll try to get in today or tomorrow.
 
Craig and I got our game in today. He squeaked out a 10-7 win. His lone TD came on a Pick-6 (one of two INTs by Aaron Rodgers in the game). He also blocked a field goal (first time I've seen that happen) and forced two Steve Slaton fumbles (one in the final two minutes with me just 9-yards away from the end zone).

So, the fact that I only lost 10-7 is actually pretty good considering how crappy my team played. Right now I'm 4-3 overall (4-0 against the CPU and 0-3 against guys here in the league). Here's to hoping I can actually pick up a win against a real person by the end of the season.
 
So, for the rest of the season, I don't play a real person until week 17 :whistle2:( So that sucks, but oh well. I guess that means I won't lose anymore games, haha. See you in the playoffs!

By the way, that 59 yard field goal that I blocked, the circle that shows where the ball will land was about a foot behind the back of the goal post so I think you would have made it, haha. Good thing that was my first ever blocked field goal and is now a saved highlight :D

Even though we got our two match-ups this season out of the way, we should definitely try to play online again sometime outside of the Franchise. You got me both times we played (37-31 and 10-7), but they've been really tight games. If you see me online in the future, hit me up and we'll get some Madden going.

Ya, if you ever wanna play just let me know. Maybe this weekend or something. I should have some time. And that goes for everyone else too. If anyone sees me online or just wants to play sometimes, let me know. I'm always up for it when I have time.

By the way, I would have liked to see you make such a long field goal. I've never seen more than a 40 yarder. Although, the replay of that block is pretty sweet, haha :D
 
ughghhh this means I have the colts waiting for me..... /marches to doom just like the real life niners.

EDIT: For fucksakes I beat the Colts in a real close game but had some sort of network error. There's no indication that the game no longer counts and the network error flashed for less than half a second. God that pisses me off. I'll try again but feel free to sim it if you have to. They handled this really shoddily. Couldn't they at least save the quarter scores so I don't have to replay the whole game over?

EDIT2: Played again this morning. Crazy game. Down 6-14 entering the 4th quarter. Ended the game 38-14. 32 unanswered points. Our formula was this: we went out and we hit them in the mouth.

You're doing a good job at keeping this thing going, by the way. If I wasn't in this league I'd hardly have any hours logged in Madden. In years' past, I've played through a season once and then just picked it up every once in a while. Doing this is way more fun - even though I still haven't beaten anyone.

Same here. it's really the reason why I even play it. BTW, I advanced the week.
 
I got my game in. I was disconnected right before the coin toss so I needed one restart. Rack up another ugly win against the CPU for the Packers.
 
I just got started playing Uncharted 2. I'm a little over a third of the way through it and love it. I beat the first game. It was fun, but had its flaws (control-wise and story-wise...especially toward the end). Uncharted 2 is just plain fun...even more fun than getting a field goal blocked and losing by three points to the Vikings in Madden.
 
Ya, I've been playing a bunch of games. I've already beat Uncharted 2 but I'm almost finished playing it on crushing difficulty and finishing up with the trophies. I still haven't even started Demon's Souls but I know I'm gonna need some time for that so I'm waiting. So many good games this year and the beginning of next year doesn't look to be slowing down. Anyone have NHL 10? I need to find someone I can play online.
 
I'm still trying to track down Smiggity. He said he might be able to play Saturday so I'll wait for him to get back to me, and if we haven't got the game in by then we should just advance the week. I don't want to hold everyone up.

Let us know when you advance the week. With Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2 sitting next to my PS3, I don't plan on firing-up Madden until the week gets advanced.
 
I stumbled across this thread and was just wondering if your league had any spots left? I've been wanting to play in a league but nobody ever plays their games....

I won the super bowl in my franchise last night and after a cutscene the screen just went black. I waited for 20 mins but it just stayed black and I finally ejected the disc.

Anyone else have this problem?
 
That has happened to me when the game is starting, during those cutscenes it went black like you said. I havent finished a full year yet though
 
Well, I haven't heard from the guy who has the giants so later tonight, I am going to advance the week.It's just been too long..

It's all good, I wanted to play but never heard from the guy who has the giants, I might boot him. Plus I've been playing Uncharted 2(going for 100%) and I just got a 360 not to long ago and I'm checking out live, COD:MW2, and Mass Effect.
 
Looks like you guys got your game in...and looking at the box score it appears that Chris Johnson is who we thought he was. Why did I pick Ryan Grant over him in my fantasy football draft? Oh yeah, because I'm a Packers fan...and that always gets in the way of good decisions. :lol:

Assuming the week gets advanced in the next day or two, I sent a PSN message to the guy who has the Cowboys. He hasn't signed-in for five days, so in case he sees this message I will most likely be able to play after midnight EST during the week and pretty much anytime on Sunday. If that changes, I'll let ya know.
 
I was telling smiggity that they updated Chris Johnson's stats to reflect recent performance, but somehow forgot to make any changes to the rest of the Titans. Every ball I threw was picked. It was ugly. Real ugly. Smog could have ran the score up more if he wanted to. Good thing Aaron is my only human opponent left. ;) I think Alex Smith is getting the nod and Shaun Hill is getting benched since the updates haven't taken care of it for me.
 
Okay guys the week has finally been advanced. We will not wait as long to advance anymore, or this season will never get done!
 
Five days and no response yet from the guy with the Cowboys. I sent him a PM here on CAG. Hopefully he gets in touch with me soon. I want to try and get this thing done sooner than later with this being a holiday week and all.
