anybody see the mobitag on the board as you're running thru the first part of chapter 1? Sent me to a Verizon/Alan Wake mobile site with a code for a free xbox theme...
Says there's two more to find...

Guys/gals I'm sorry but I haven't played the game yet so I have no idea where these songs are in the game. Most of them are 3-5 minutes long. The songs just say track 1, 2, etc. The only one that has a track name/artist name is the 2nd track:

track 1
Young Men Dead by The Black Angels
Welcome to Bright Falls (unknown artist)
track 4
track 5
track 6
track 7
track 8
track 9
track 10

So I got my LE and I installed the commentary, but I cannot find the avatar item that was supposed to come with it. Do I need to unlock it somehow or am I just missing it when I scan through the avatar items?

There's no in game timer, so it's hard to say. I've put in about 7 hours and I've just gotten to chapter 6 (listening to the end of ch.5 song right now.)

The Black Angels? Holy hell, what a fantastic band. That's awesome.

So is it safe to mess around with that disk before you beat the game? I was afraid there would be spoilers if you watched the stuff on there before you played the game.
how long, on average would those that have played it say a chapter lasts? do some vary in length more than others?
Chapter 1 if Im remembering correctly is a bit shorter than Chapter 2 and 3. 2 and 3 are about equal it seemed to me. Im on to Ch. 4 now.

I couldn't guess a chapter time as I have to take a lot of breaks for my kids, so everything gets extended. They go fairly quick in my opinion. Partially due to the fact that everything about this game is bad ass.

In my opinion it is going to take a MASSIVE effort to knock this off as Game of the Year.
Does anybody know the estimated playthough time on this yet?
That depends of the difficulty level. Some have said between 8-12 hours in Normal, others up to 18 in Nightmare mode.

Game is amazing and so far the only knocks against it almost finishing the second episode would be enemy variety, but thats a minor knack cause It's always tense fighting them.

Limited Edition is badass and easily worth the more hefty price tag.

I didn't watch anything. Theres a whole bunch of different options, videos, trailer and such, and one option for downloading the special stuff. I just went and downloaded everything and that was it. No spoilers unless you watch the stuff I guess.

I saw that in some reviews and I honestly could care less. I really don't have much time to look at the enemies most of the time. It can get somewhat hectic. Plus the flashlight and gun mechanism just feels perfect to me.

I'm on Chapter four.. just started. In one of the rooms right where you start out is an XBox 360 and a copy of "Shadow Falls" the game, along with a poster.

There's six chapters in all. Sad to know that I'm halfway through it, this game is a blast.. I don't want it to end any time soon.

Just started the game, played the intro, and just arrived at out motel spot. Got the Limited Edition, and it is really packed with stuff, music, bonus content, and a book that contains stories, and an investigation into Wake and his wife. Just started reading it, and pretty good so far.

Any LE owners have some good pics of the contents/game box? Googled and all I come up with are the same official release pics. Love seeing what LEs have to offer. Particularly interested to see whether the game case is a regular game case with the normal 360 banners so it'll fit in with the rest of the games.

I can take some pictures when I get home tonight. The game case does not have the 360 banners around it. It's solid black. No 360 logos or anything. It would definitely stand out in a rack with other 360 games.

Yeah, the cover looks like the cover of a tv series.

Finished Epuisode 3 yesterday. I've never been this scared while playing a game. The atmosphere is just outstanding.

I am starting chapter 4 but 3 was a tad too long for one play through for me lol. I was whipped after that

Ch. 4 has been my favorite so far. Im on to ch. 5 now.

Here's the best I got with my OG IPhone. To note tcrash247's comment, the actual game case is the same style solid black one used with the Forza 3 CE.

Anyone know if coffee pots and pages carry over to a new game? Beat it on normal Wednesday afternoon and started playing some red dead, but gonna go back here an beat on it nightmare and was wondering if this was the case.

Just got an e-mail from Walmart saying;

I got my copy yesterday but that wasn't supposed to arrive, just my token for the avatar stuff, so it looks like I'll be getting a second copy next week sometime :D Fingers crossed at least.

You in all likelihood will get it. This happened to me 2 years ago at Christmas when I ordered a present for my sons.

2 quick questions. Do the coffee thermos and manuscripts carry over to new game pluses? I only ask because there is 100 of each and it would suck to have to play the whole game again to get them all if you finish off at 90.

Pretty sure they do.

I can't quite figure out how they pull off the effect, but the swirling darkness that approaches right before some fights gives me the creeps. Just finished Chapter 1 and really like the flashlight gun combo, just slightly strategic in its use yet fun and great to look at.
Thanks for the pics! That does look like a pretty well put together LE. The Amazon deal for the regular version is tempting though. Especially like the "book cover".

Just finished Episode 4 and man that was hectic. I loved the awesome that was Valhalla. I'm wondering if they got plans to release any Alan Wake books. Seems like a logical choice if they want to make even more money.

Just finished EP2. Wow, this game is downright awesome. The story is tight as is the gameplay. Graphics are hit or miss, as has been said before. But, the location/setting hasn't been this strong since Bioshock. So far it's blasted away my expectations.

And, for those on the fence, get the limited edition, it's a great package. I am a sucker for LE's, but this one is great. It's worth it for the soundtrack alone.
Anyone who beat the game care to explain to me
what the fuck just happened.
Just finished it and I wish I knew myself. It is still one of the best games I have played in a long time, and the cryptic ending was interesting, but I still wish I knew... more.

The only thing I can figure out is that in order for Alan to keep the balance, he sacrificed himself to the darkness so that Alice could live on. What I wish I understood was if this was all real, or some kind of crazy dream. This is some pretty far-fetched shit right here if this was really happening to Alan and Alice in their real world. And the "not an lake, its an ocean" stuff really makes me wonder what he means. Like, is this whole thing much bigger than what we've played, or is it not isolated to this lake but all around us?

There better be some explaining from Remedy or some DLC/sequels that do more explaining.

Regardless, it is absolutely the best game I have played in recent memory. The combat feels right, the flashlight/gun mechanic is fun, the atmosphere is downright creepy, the visuals are awesome, and the soundtrack is to die for. GOTY. Period.

I got my Amazon bonus deals but don't really care for avatar clothes and a theme pack. If anyone wants them:

Here is your bonus code to unlock the male avatar shirt: **CLAIMED**
Here is your bonus code to unlock the female avatar shirt: **CLAIMED**
Here is your bonus code to unlock the Brightfalls theme pack: **CLAIMED**

Just PM me if you use them so I can edit the post that they are gone.

Yeah, I can't say how many times I have been running through the woods and literally jumped or had my arms get goosebumps over something happening. If anyone else has played Max Payne or Max Payne 2 do you not notice all of the similarities between the two games, it is amazing.
When did you get your amazon bonus codes? In email? Did you buy the regular version or LE?
I received them by e-mail this morning for the regular version.

On a semi-related note, I still can't get the RDR Amazon codes to work from the e-mailed versions or the ones that came in the box. I think Amazon is somewhat disorganized with these codes right now.

well last night i finished episode 1 and after work i'll continue on. im really loving it. im glad i grabbed the CE the soundtrack cd is awesome!i read a little bit of the alan wake files, book and it seems pretty cool. i kind of wish they'd release one of the "alex casey" books written by alan, that would be sweet.i really like how they went all out with the fiction, listening to the radio and watching the tv shows are awesome as well. i love remedy.

make sure you are manually putting in the hyphens.

Just bought the "Haunted" CD by Poe...had a $5 promotional credit so it only cost me $3.99 for the whole CD. Great song. Too bad I couldn't find the Alan Wake soundtrack (and not that ship from the LE OST).

Is there a full CD or MP3 release of the Alan Wake soundtrack? I thought the one that came with the LE was the only one. I have it and I really like it. It doesn't cover all the songs, though.

Damn it. So many reviews said it was easy that I played on Hard. Only in episode 2 and I'm stuck because I run out of ammo and can't kill all the enemies, nor can I run to the next light spot. There does not seem to be a way to lower the difficulty without restarting the episode.

Sux.
