If stores have them, they are going to sell them. Not sure why anyone ever thought Friday was a firm date or that stores would hold non-preordered ones for a specific day. If anything, Wednesday makes the most sense because they can hold for 48 hours for pre-orders and then sell on Friday at launch for those who didn't pick up. That memo thing that leaked a while ago all had ETA dates on it.

Oh okay, thanks. I have no idea how other stores operate. At my job we'll get crap way early and can't sell it. We got Evolve 2 weeks ago. Back when my manager would order Amiibos, we'd get them at least a week in advance but weren't allowed to scan them in until a certain date.

 
Last ditch effort on this particular story.

Does anyone remember the post where someone talked about seeing a fist fight when a shopper took an Amiibo from out of the hands of a kid in a cart, and the dad responded? I could have sworn I read it in the last thread, but after going through 500 pages (!) I've all but given up finding it manually. 

 
those of you that are getting pickup notifications for the ship to store option, did your orders online say "closed". Just trying to gauge whether  people that have closed are still getting theirs.

I literally (2:05 PM CST) *just* got my Shuk message, and yes, my order was one of the "Closed" site to store.

GameStop: Your Amiibo Shulk order available Wed PM. Info# 888-446-9209

 
I believe texts are for ship to store. If you actually preordered in the store I don't believe you get a text. So maybe call the store and see if they are there explaining that you have an in store preorder

My guess would be that GameStop would deliberately only have enough for preorders. Your best bet might be waiting a few days to buy preorders that were not picked up (I think stores usually wait 3 days or so?).

Getting these things is really hard for the collector's in the same boat as me. I just want 1 of each figure. No multiples. I plan on opening them all up too. But my God, as someone who collected the old ToyBiz Marvel Legends, which retailed for $5.99, to see these things that are essentially bigger heroclix figures retailing for $12.99 and skyrocketing from there, it's heartaching lol. And preordering kind of takes the fun out of it. I wanna hunt for them you know? Oh well, blame is on me for getting into these things.

Then be smart pre-order and hunt for them as well... That's my method... And return or trade the extra ones (well if you got the money) but that method has been great for me... Hopefully in a few hours I can really express how great

Those figures look so handsome out of the box though too. Awesome in the package too; I sound like a broken record by saying how torn I am between opening or not (opened them all so far so too late to turn back)

I also got the Gamestop text about Shulk. But I only got one text. Even though I pre ordered 2, anyone else get more than one text?

Just checked my Shulk preorder and they have my wrong number listed so I won't be getting a call from them! Kinda freaking out now, might just go into the store tomorrow just to see what's up and pay off the preorder if it's not in. Maybe I should call them today...

Just called the store I have my pickup for Shulk at since I got the text. They said its not on hand yet, but will call when they come in. I imagine this means the store is supposed to receive the shipment tomorrow.
 
My local gamestop just got shipment of what I could tell toon links and shieks.  I asked the employee and they were all pre-order stock so in two days imma go check to see if there are any left.  Gamestop website also has 2/13 as possible availability then. Just wanted to let you guys know.

 
My GameStop got in Sheik and Toon Link today. Shulk tomorrow. I just hope I get my hands on Mega Man and Sonic.... And of course Lucario, Rosalina, Meta Knight.

Yes, I do. It was a Yoshi, of all things. A little hard to believe but crazier things have happened. If it was true, I don't blame the father at all. If someone laid hands on my kid, or snatched a toy out of his hands, I'd flip shit too.
 
Man wishing I had pre-ordered Shulk. Didn't realize the retail exclusives were going to be so limited. Got Roslina pretty easily. Could have had Lucario but it's not one that I really wanted. Didn't pre-order Meta Knight but I have a little hope more  with him at the moment.

I did in store pick up at one store (where I pay when I get there)

I pre-ordered in store at another.

I just got a text (not specifying which store, or order), so I'll just assume I can pick up both tomorrow.

I didn't want a Shulk until I saw what he does in Xenoblade for N3DS. Kinda sucks he's gonna be impossible to get.
