Animal Crossing 3DS XL bundle up for pre-order at GS

Picked up my preorder yesterday and I asked if there were any still available and she checked within 100 miles and that was a no go. 

After not preordering the Zelda 3DS, I'll never not preorder another LE from Nintendo again. 

 
My TRU put their shipment of 5 out today and sold out in an hour. I was told they placed a second order, but who knows if there ever will be a second run.
 
Well guys, I finally broke after all these years and bought a 3ds. The call of Animal Crossing was too hard to resist. The ONLY retailer to stock is (GameStop to me doesn't count) is toys R us, so I went there today looking for it since I friend told me as of yesterday there were three.

Got there today, two on the shelf. Asked a manager if they pricematch other stores/deals, showing them best Buy's ad of $25 off any 3ds console. Two managers consulted, came back and said sure thing. Rung me out and charged me $174.99 (plus tax), matching best Buy's ad price for the standard 3ds xl comsole instead of the $25 off offer.

Thank you. I'm ecstatic yet also pissed. Totally forgot about a screen protector, and it looks like no retail store carries the Hori screen protectors. Amazon looks like my only option and I don't want to wait 2-3 days to play the new game and console.

Any suggestions?
 
You can buy the official Vita protectors by Sony. They are exactly big enough to fit on the top screen, if your good at cutting you could probably make the bottom fit too.

I used them on both my 3DS XL's and my Vita, the things are scratch proof and barely smudge. Even the one I have had on my Vita since launch day is still pristine

 
I know for a fact that I am going to regret passing on this, just because I feel so damn passive about it! Oh well, I might go out and try to get one today.

Thank you for the tip! A friend of mine had a spare for the lower screen, specifically for a 3DS XL. Just got it from him today and will apply soon.

Obviously GameStop is tapped out. But if anyone is looking for the bundle still, it's definitely worth checking out TRU. I swung by today just to browse some games and they had three bundles on their shelves still at the Minnetonka, MN location.

AC:NL does make me wish we had an XL. On an original 3DS the keyboard is tiny and the shop names are hard to read too. Once you figure out which is which that's fine, though.

 
I snagged a bundle with the sole intention of trading for pikachu edition. This could be a good deal for someone. At minimum, YOU save $20 off what you paid. If you got it at Target, or price matched, for $160, that' a $60 savings. Pikachu doesn't need to be sealed in box, but I would like mint condition, with box and manuals. If interested, please PM me.

 
Man, watching people here try and scramble to get this bundle... you guys really shouldn't have slept on it.

When I saw this originally I was "no way", but now that I have Animal Crossing, I'm wishing I had one. LOL. Oh well. I can't really afford another 3DS now anyway, let alone an XL (but boy is the keyboard tiny on a standard 3DS)!

Do you know about when the second run will be available? Should have picked up two Fire Emblem systems... I decided not to after I saw that they were doing a second run, but now I regret it.

Funny, people were saying the opposite when the FE:A version came out. I just picked one up because I'm a fan of FE. I would have much preferred it to be the XL and a physical copy of FE. Oh well, seems like there will be many options to pick up an XL. I didn't pick this one up because I know I won't play AC so the premium over the plain XLs isn't worth it to me.

I would have never bought it if it wasn't an XL. The regular 3DS is way too small for any adult.

While true (my hands get tired so I play using a circle pad pro as a grip), people have complained that the XL is too big for most hands. I don't like to appearance of the XL and the screen hurts my eyes, possibly because of the scaling with the pixels.

 
Nintendo really means limited when they say "Limited Edition," and I like that. 

I highly doubt there will be a secondary wave. I knew the Pikachu 3DS XL was limited...but didn't preorder this console because it seemed like you could do it anywhere and even up until the last day it seemed as though you could place a preorder...that dissipated quickly though once release rolled around. I am not messing around with Nintendo anymore, when they say limited and I want it...I'm jumping on it as soon as I possibly can.

 
I hope they do a second print run. I bought one from Toysrus, but I sold it to someone over craigslist for $350 lol. I want some sort of special edition to play on, but I do prefer the Luigi XL if it makes its way stateside.

Typically when you enter your PP account information there will be a final screen that shows the address to where you item will ship. This is almost always the default or last shipping address associated with your PayPal account.

You will most definitely get a e-mail receipt to your paypal e-mail address showing where the item will be shipped to.

 
Two questions for those who have one.

1) Is the finish on the console the same matte type as that which is used on the standard XL models?

2) If the finish is matte, are the engravings on the console (houses, apples, etc.) the same texture as the rest of the unit (meaning that they can't be felt separate from the white background / are not glossy)?

1. I actually never messed with an XL until I got my animal crossing XL. So, I dunno.

2. Overall, the whole thing is what I would call semi-gloss. There is no difference in the texture between the white parts and the little AC pieces.

 
I have been stalking eBay and Amazon all day, and I find that NewEgg has these in stock somehow.

Thanks to those who mentioned TRU was carrying them. I went to my local TRU today and they had 3 in stock! I was pretty shocked because I'm pretty sure there are at least 20 people where I live checking all the Gamestops in my area to see if anyone is not getting their pre orders. I guess none of them checked TRU.

HOLY CRAP! THANK YOU! Went to Toys R Us tonight and they also had 3 left! Can't remember the last time I bought something in TRU but they saved me tonight! Thanks again for mentioning to check TRU!

lol. I didn't buy it with the intent to sell, I actually wanted it to keep. I saw the craigslist ad from someone wanting to buy one for $350 which would paid me about $110 more than what I paid to buy it so I gave in. Figured it would be saving a bit of cash on my future purchase if I can get a new one if their is a second run or if the Luigi bundle is brought over.
