Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info

Finally my nook is upgrading tomorrow! Also I have an extra Mush Stand if anyone wants to trade. I already have Mush tv, mush bed and, mush dresser.

Finally caught a char. :D Also, some other good catches like 2 popped-eyed goldfishes, a goldfish, and a pike. Woohoo.

I've been reading some posts on some forums saying turnips may turn rotten after a DAY if you put them on the floor rather than a table. True/false? =d

EDIT: Turnips are selling for 86 at my town. Anyone's selling more than 100?
 
Has anyone got more than 4 coins and 3 bags of money from a money rock? So far thats the most i can get before it quits.

I found a lamp today, looks like a genie lamp, but it says Empy Lamp. :(
 
My turnips stayed on the floor of my house overnight, but they're fine today.
Stupid Nook is buying for around 75 though. Argh! But at least he's finally upgrading! :bouncy: So I'll need to live in someone else's town tomorrow.

I got an extra Mush table today if anyone wants to trade. I already have the bed, lamp, closet, table, end table, and carpet. And I can't be the only one getting repeat fossils. Today it was the Ptera Right Wing. I also have the Seismo Chest, Plesio Neck, Peking Man, and Dinosaur Track. It would be a waste to just sell them to Nook.

If you don't find anyone, just put them on auction in the town- double nooks purchase price.
 
Daisy, you could use my town tomorrow, if you wanted! I have the mushroom wall, I think I might have two, and I do not believe I have the table. So maybe we'll trade. The mushroom wall looks really nice.

Sounds like a plan to me. It's kind of foggy in my town right now. I hope that means rain.
 
All I have left for November only stuff (fishes and insects) are Orchid Mantis and it's driving me slowly insane.

Oh, and fog means it recently rained I think.

i don't know if it makes a difference- but i caught my Orchid Mantis on a white flower. you might want to try to plany some from nooks if you see any.

I am so angry at my self for trying to skip Tom Nooks' upgrade time. Seems like it takes 2 days to upgrade, I think.
 
Nook's only takes one day to upgrade. Also, turnips will spoil the next Sunday or if you TT backwards for any length of time.

Its pretty gay they only allow 8 slots for custom images. Ive been thinking of ways to use these in a cool way, and i have a few ideas. :) I just put up my Mushroom Flag.

I have a question. Can we plant flowers anywhere? Even if its on dirt, or maybe a spot where a house would go if someone moved in? I noticed you can pick up flowers and plant them in another area, which is cool. But i dunno how long that would last.
 
I like how Sahara is in my town, but none of my residents have any old carpets. That's wonderful. "I just threw it out!" they tell me. I whack them with my shovel in hopes that the code will recognize this as an act of aggression and spill digital animal blood all over the lands of my humble town, igniting a long clandestine war as I stealthily eliminate my neighbors until only the mayor remains, whose brains I shall eat and become lord of the universe.

But this doesn't happen. They just keep staring at my character. Stupid. Some of them clap.

On another note, Lilboo's AC-tar >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Microsoft MiiCopytar. I don't know where his actual Mii fits in there.

Also, the yellow bird on the message board is a sign there is a new post. I did not know this before about an hour ago and felt I should share the information in case anyone else was wondering this.

I should have some more pictures/stores to retell later tonight, including an update with my arch-nemesis Elvis the Lion.
 
I need some City Folk friend codes because I'm tired of looking at Peaches. I want Apples, Oranges, Coconuts and...other ones. Yeah...that should cover me pretty well.

Yeah, you can plant flowers anywhere. Also, planting two of the same kind (but different colors) can result in hybrids. Thats one reason why my gates are closed: so no one stomps on the flowers. lol

Not sure if this would help, but I've always seen tn orchid mantis on my white roses. Probably just a coincidence and that they can be on any flowers.

This game seems so much slower than Wild World. I remember paying off my first mortgage in a few hours in that. I've played it for 4 hours so far and I'm not even a third of the way paying it off.

Does anyone else feel like this game/series needs a highlight system of some kind?

This game does seem slower. It also seems more difficult to catch rare fish. Maybe I'm just cursed. :cry:

btw, open gates. I'll pay 1500B for an axe. Nook buys everything but Apples for 500B.

Hi, I don't have this game... I bought it for my girl though. I've played the Gamecube version before... anyway...

On the AC website, there is a Tom Nook code. How do you enter this code?

Oh, and also... a few more questions.

When people ask her to give them an item, should she always give it to them? How does this work?
Second, I assume she has to be nice to people to be invited to the furniture store, is this just a random character or somebody specific?

I just got some apples growing in my Town. It'll take a couple of days, though. I need cherries, oranges, coconuts and the other one still. Although I'm on my way to getting some cherries.

Did anyone else get Wii Speak? Because I'd like some impressions (and distance) of it.

I and Io have it.

It seems to work amazingly well. I'm 7-8 feet away from it, but it picks up my voice very well at normal talking levels. Io comes through well enough - I don't hear background noise on his end or anything.

I think if more people used it, they'd find it works very well - probably just as good as a headset.

I may be on in a few minutes, but I have to clean things up first and I'm not sure what to expect. Apparently while I was out today my kids messed with the clock. They started off by jumping ahead a day because Nook was closed for remodeling and they were bored. Then one of them (you know the one, Strell) jumped the clock to 2035 or something :roll:. I need to set it back and see what all happens in that case. I'm not thrilled with them at this point though :bomb:.
 
Okay, Acrewood is going to open up. Apples, oranges, pears and cherries, with peaches on the way. I'd love to get an axe!
 
I'm gonna get rid of my mush stuff, I don't like it anymo'. I'll be on tomorrow though. All I ask for trade is colored furniture so I can Feng Shui-up my house (green, yellow, orange, or red items). I have the forest floor/wallpaper, mush table, mush stool, mush lamp.

I ate my turnips by accident today. Thankfully, it was only 40, but still, that's ~4k! Darnnnnittt.
